It was close to 9:00 p.m. when they got back to the apartment. Lu Wanwan was a little tired, she took off her high heels and went straight into the bathroom, took a hot shower, and went out wrapped in a bath towel.

The man had his back turned on her. He took off his suit jacket, only having on a white shirt. He was loosening his tie casually when he heard her movement. He turned around and his dark eyes gazed at her without moving.

Shen Yi looked out of focus. The corners of his eyes widened. He squinted slightly, his throat knot rolled and Lu Wanwan heard him say, "Put your nightgown on."

Oh....

Ah !?

She had forgotten that the two of them were married and had long been living in the same bedroom.

Lu Wanwan's ear tips turned pink and, as she feigned composure while taking out her nightgown from the closet, she discovered, to her despair, that the nightgown was Shen Yi's favorite, the white one.

She reckoned he was the one who bought it.

During the later years of those many years of imprisonment, Shen Yi murmured in her ear many times, telling her that he liked her best in a white cotton dress and that he liked the way she looked weak and could only depend on him.

Every time she tried to escape and he caught her back, Shen Yi smiled and said, "You're the one who provoked me in the first place. You're the one who said you like me. Wanwan, you can't leave if you like me."

"Wanwan, don't go out, okay? They will all deceive you, only I am the one who is the best for you. You'll only show yourself to me, okay?"

That white cotton nightgown really left a shadow on Lu Wanwan's mind. She awkwardly put it on, her long black hair casually spread in her back, covering the back of her neck delicate white skin.

Her face, moistened by the vapor, was pink, tender and glowing. The dim light reflected more clearly her face, her charming features, her shyness and timidness, so graceful she was captivating.

Shen Yi silently looked away and lowered his eyes. The look in his eyes darkened and then darkened again.

Lu Wanwan had turned her back when she changed into her nightgown. Then she slowly crawled into the covers and blinked at him, "You go wash."

The space between Shen Yi's eyebrows spread a cold aura. He still had that same unmoved-by-anything look. His slender fingers lightly unbuttoned his shirt and he took it off as he went into the bathroom.

Lu Wanwan laid in bed listening to the sound of water coming from inside, not feeling sleepy at all. About ten minutes later, the man walked out with his upper body naked, his dark hair still dripping with water droplets, wreathing a light refreshing aroma.

His waist was narrow, his shoulders wide, and his chest lean.

Shen Yi leisurely blew his hair dry. Then he laid down at her side and raised his hand to turn off the light. The faint moonlight shone through the window veil.

Lu Wanwan's body was stiff all over. She moved her body to shift her position, turned sideways and raised her eyes to look at him quietly.

The moonlight sprinkled on his clear white face, he looked like a beautiful jade.

Lu Wanwan deliberately wrapped her arms around his waist. She also circled his body with her legs in an ambiguous way. The entire person was clinging to him.

She remembered that Shen Yi hated it when people clung to him like that.

Lu Wanwan keenly noticed that the man she was clinging on to stiffened and that his breathing became heavier.

She opened her mouth sweetly and said, "Yi Yi, I really want a decent set of jewelry. If you can't get me a 30 million yuan set to wear, I can also make do with a 3 million one, you buy it for me, okay?"

Lu Wanwan deliberately talked about this matter again and again, just to remind Shen Yi, so that he could see clearly that his wife was a vain and snobbish woman.

She only had eyes for money! Only jewels!

Shen Yi silently took her seemingly soft and boneless hands away and said in a low voice, "I know, you should sleep early."

"Then you absolutely mustn't forget oh"

"Mmm."

Lu Wanwan yawned, "Good night Yi Yi"

"Good night."

The next morning, Lu woke up with the smell of food. She got up and put on slippers, pulled open the curtains, letting the dazzling sun shine into the room.

The north winter was excessively cold and the trees by the window had already formed a thick layer of white frost.

Lu Wanwan stretched out, slipped on slippers and went to the living room, where breakfast was already set on the dining table.

Shen Yi looked at her, served a bowl of porridge, pushed it in front of her, and said, "Here, eat your breakfast."

Lu Wanwan sat down in the seat opposite him, drinking small mouthfuls of porridge. Shen Yi's cooking skills were quite good. He made meals very suitable for her taste.

After finishing the porridge, Lu wiped her mouth, "You have to be at the office at nine o'clock right?"

Shen Yi nodded his head, "Mm."

Lu Wanwan looked at the clock on the wall, it was now 8:40.

She put down the spoon in her hand, wiped her mouth with a tissue and said in a nonchalant manner, "You remember to wash the dishes, my hands can't do these trivial chores."

Shen Yi didn't even lift his eyelids. No matter what she said, it seemed that one could not see on his face any significant change of his mood. His expression remained cold.

He exhaled softly, "Alright."

As soon as he said so, Shen Yi got up and obediently retrieved all the bowls on the table and brought them to the kitchen. Not long after, Lu Wanwan heard the sound of pouring water.

Looking at Shen Yi's skillful movements, he seemed to have long been used to doing these chores.

Lu Wanwan held her chin in both hands as her eyes fell on the man washing dishes in the kitchen. It was no wonder he was so skilled at doing these things, for so many years, he had been all alone, without a father, nor a mother. When she thought about it, he was somewhat a bit pitiful oh.

After washing the dishes and setting them aside, the man used a clean napkin to carefully wipe the water droplets on his fingertips, took off his apron and looked at the time. It was 9:10.

Lu Wanwan sat still on her chair, very much like a pampered young lady, and she instructed in a not-so-gentle tone, "Remember to bring the garbage down when you go downstairs."

Shen Yi had already changed into his leather shoes and said alright.

Immediately after, there was the sound of the room door being tightly closed.
