Lu Wanwan could clearly notice the changes that had occurred on Shen Yi. He was, little by little, becoming more sharp and imposing.
Feeling really tired, she bypassed Shen Yi and went to lie down on the bed.
Shen Yi’s palm grabbed the back of her neck, forcing her to lift her face up to look directly at him, his pupils were of a black so deep they were bottomless.
She had a shudder and her pale face gradually turned pink and red. The tips of her ears also became pink, as if she was embarrassed from being stared at by him.
The look in Shen Yi’s eyes was excessively blatant and there was no pity in his movements.
She was like a stranded fish, breathing heavily, gasping for her last breath with her little mouth open. Her face was flushed red, eager for water.
Her body was soft and fragrant.
The man’s eager roughness was impossible to resist, it was as if the only way for him to be satisfied would be to eat her raw and chew her up, one bite at a time.
She was tossed and turned without the strength to get angry, her wrists were firmly clasped to the bed as her straight and slender legs were forced to rest on his waist.
She sank and floated, up and down, without a moment of peace.
After she fell asleep, she had yet another strange dream.
These days, she rarely thought back of her first two unpleasant transmigrations. Amidst the blur, scenes of the original novel appeared in her mind, images after images.
In the snowy weather, Miss Lu, dressed in thin clothes, had fallen on her knees by the roadside. Her face was blue and purple from the cold, a layer of frost had condensed on her eyelashes and her body was curled up. She was as wretched as she could be.
Bright and shiny people passed by her, one by one, bestowing her with mocking looks, while talking and laughing as they passed by her.
They regarded her as an amusement, or perhaps a joke.
Miss Lu only humbly prayed that she could see Shen Yi once again and have a word with him.
As the couple walked hand in hand into the hotel hall, the noble and cold man didn’t even spare her one glance, his gaze was extremely indifferent, as if he didn’t care about anyone in this world.
Miss Lu waited for a long time and, a second before her eyes were about to close, she heard the sound of familiar footsteps. The man leisurely walked in front of her eyes, squatted down and lightly lifted her chin. Looking at her for a while, he smiled and sighed: “How pitiful.”
It was just a pretense and nothing else.
Not even one ounce of sympathy could be seen from his eyes.
Miss Lu reached out her quivering hand and held on to his sleeve, eager to keep this man a little longer, just a little longer.
At this very moment, she felt regretful from the bottom of her heart. If she had known early on that Shen Yi would have a day like today, back then she would not have divorced him no matter what, and wouldn’t have betrayed him for another man.
The corners of her lips wriggled, but she could not make any sound.
Shen Yi’s interest seemed to have reached its limits, he gently freed himself from her hand and stood up. With his hands in his pockets, he looked down at her, with a mocking smile.
The only thing left in her gray line of sight was the image of him walking further and further away.
Lu Wanwan woke up once in a daze, she was awake for less than a minute before she fell back to sleep again.
The four corners of the quilt were covering her tightly, as if someone was afraid she would be frozen.
In her sleep, Lu Wanwan felt uncomfortable from being covered like this, with her foot she kicked away the quilt and her bare foot stretched outside of the quilt.
It felt like someone caught her ankle and put her foot back under the quilt.
She mumbled twice in dissatisfaction and, in a fit, she simply kicked the quilt off her body.
The man’s laugh was low and melodious, and with both his hand and feet, wrapped himself around her, hugging her tightly, “Sleep well.”
The man’s chest was warm and she naturally leaned closer, found a comfortable position, unconsciously wrapped her arms around his waist and fell asleep.
When Lu Wanwan woke up again, her back was still cold, she felt exhausted all over and her forehead was sweaty. Looking up at the time, she found out that she had only slept for less than an hour.
She had been alone inside the room for quite some time already.
She put on her clothes and went downstairs, the only person in the living room was Shi Xin, who was holding her daughter while talking to her.
She smiled and said to her, “Shen Yi is having a talk with his little brother.”
That was the youngest master of the Shen family. He and Shen Yi had the same father and the same mother, but he regarded Shen Yi more or less as an eyesore.
Lu Wanwan who had just woke up, didn’t have much energy and she just nodded, said “oh”, and didn’t say anymore.
Shi Xin patted the head of the child in her arms, and smiled lightly as she said, “This is your aunty, you’ve met her already my good baby, quickly say hello.”
The little girl had a shy temperament. Seeing her beautiful aunt, she was a little embarrassed and buried her little face in her mother’s neck. After a while, she sneakily lifted up her face and looked at her with round eyes, before greeting her obediently : “Hello, aunty.”
