Gu Xi seemed like a very shy person with his head down. He noticed that Rong Jing took a step back when he saw the dog so he immediately grabbed the leash. He thought that Rong Jing was afraid of dogs but he was actually allergic.

He nodded gently, “I’ll wash your coat and send it back here later. Is that okay?”

“Nah, it’s okay. How are you? They aren’t looking for you, are they?”

“No, don’t worry.” Gu Xi turned around and immediately wanted to leave. He knew that he always attracts trouble. Even if he didn’t want them, they wouldn’t leave them alone.

This person in front of him was better than most people, all the more reason for him to stay away from him. He wanted to secretly return his kindness by not disturbing him.

Gu Xi wanted to return the bracelet that Rong Jing had dropped. He had always worn it with him since he picked it up, thinking that if he ever met the owner of the bracelet, he would give it back.

The young man’s answer was one that Rong Jing didn’t expect. Did he not want me to help him? Should I have minded my own business?

Rong Jing could not help but take a step forward but the young man took a step back. Rong Jing felt like something was up and no longer approached. He knew that the young man was grateful and that his words didn’t mean any harm because the person standing in front of him looked like he was haunted by sadness, as if he remembered something.

“Actually, I can’t help everyone. I have to see them first so I can help them if they’re in trouble,” Rong Jing smiled and believed that sooner or later, he would be able to get rid of his nosy habit. “I’ll change. One day, maybe I’ll turn a blind eye.”

Rong Jing looked at the figure of the young man disappearing in the dark, and stayed outside for a while. He squatted down and touched the grass growing on the mound.

This was where the original owner buried his first pet. This was also where the original owner’s most painful memory was formed after he personally killed his little friend with his own two hands.

A shadow fell beside him. Rong Jing looked up and saw Xie Ling.

Only then did Xie Ling realize that Rong Jing actually liked the cat that he gave to him, that he didn’t blame him for being careless and didn’t hate him.

“When I chose the cat to give you back then, I didn’t think that it would make your allergies worse.”

He was young then. He just took over the family business, too busy with work and only thought that his younger brother must be allergic to cats because of their fur so it was alright to buy a hairless one.

He left silently as he finished saying these words.

This was the first time that Xie Ling has explained his actions, though it was kind of stiff and cold.

Under the hazy moonlight, the brothers who once drifted apart seemed to have started a new beginning.

Rong Jing smiled and said, “I know, big brother.”

He still missed his family. However, since he was here now in this world, he had no option but to move forward, not to mention that there were people here that made it worth staying.

The corners of Xie Ling’s lips lifted slightly but quickly turned into a straight line, “En.”

When Gu Xi was leading the dog through a corridor, he saw someone on the phone in the distance.

Wu Hanqi nodded in Gu Xi’s direction as if to greet him. He didn’t seem to know or care about the identity of the other party and only treated him equally as he did to others.

It was this approachable attitude that has made the Wu family’s reputation better and better over the years and has made many people forget their origins. Even if Wu Fuyu is kind of out of tune, he has a well-tuned father.

Gu Xi quickened his pace, covering his heart that was beating fast, not recognizing the other person.

Rong Jing had just returned to the banquet hall when a waiter poured him another glass of juice. He looked at Xie Ling who was surrounded by the crowd but his brother only gave him a look as if to say: You’re too young to drink.

Not far from Rong Jing was a hesitant Ji Leping who wanted to say something to him but didn’t know whether he should come up to him or not. He hesitated for a long time before he decided to come over and asked meekly, “Rong… Rong Jing?”

Was there really a young man from a wealthy family who would disguise himself as a little match boy in order to experience the sufferings of the world?

Ji Leping had never believed before that something like that was possible but now, he wasn’t so sure anymore.

His family was only a side branch of the Ji family and wasn’t really taken seriously by the big ones. Although his family’s surname was Ji, the treatment they get from people was different from the main branch.

He wasn’t really supposed to come to the party today. However, the Ji family was planning to enter the entertainment industry this year and set up a small company to test the waters. As a person who has been on the edge of the entertainment industry for several years, the Ji family decided to bring him too. It was also a way to introduce him and to make relationships.

Ji Leping has always been an active member of their class. When he told his classmates that he would come to the party to eat and drink, they envied him a lot and so he got coaxed to setting up a live room for everyone to see the party and feel classy.

The students were curious to see about the Xie family’s level of wealth since there were already many rich families in Beijing.

Ji Leping bit his cake and said, “Ever heard of the word ‘impeccable’? That’s what is used when describing the four families with the most stable assets. They’re Wu, Xie, Ke and Ji, ranked in no particular order since they all have their times of ups and downs. These years, the Wu family is the most prosperous, specializing in electronics and technology. The Omega gland suppression patch is developed by their family, which is currently ranking first in its field. That’s the reason why the heir of their family has a very special nickname. He’s known as the Prince. And yes, he’s that well-known Alpha who has made famous internet celebrities and stars cry. Oh my, I want to see him so bad. I hope he’s here.”

With that, Ji Leping scanned the banquet hall with his phone. When he looked at it, he saw lots of exclamation marks from the comments.

–Hey look, doesn’t that person look like Rong Jing?

–How could Rong Jing be there? Is this a joke?

–You guys, am I seeing things?

Ji Leping wanted to say that it was impossible for Rong Jing to be in the party, but then he remembered that the Xie family indeed had a third young master who had never once shown his face to the public.

Because he never appeared during gatherings, everyone had only heard of him but had not had the chance to see him personally.

He also found out that Xie Ling’s assistant, Zhou Xiang, who had always followed his boss all year round, had also walked out towards the commotion. He no longer could resist his restless heart and decided to sneak over under the urging of his classmates. He didn’t expect to see such a strong combination of people.

One person was a freshman at the Film Academy who was very arrogant and domineering as soon as he entered the university. His family opened an entertainment company with a training program and invites young people to become trainees every year. Since the Prince had come to Beijing, he had become one of his ‘brothers’.

But the man who they suspected was Rong Jing nonchalantly kicked that person with such a family background to the pool. The kick was smooth, fast and hard.

Damn, that was awesome!

The Rong Jing they knew would never fight back but he actually has two faces?

Lu Jin, who had moved books until his hands blistered, just wanted to relax for a moment and feel the corruption of capitalism. He didn’t expect that he’d see something like this! He was more sure than anyone that the person they were seeing could be Rong Jing.

He was a person who had already faced Rong Jing directly. That man was very good at pretending to be a pig, looking weak and gentle, then swallowing a tiger whole later. However, compared to that young man on the live video, the way Rong Jing treated him could still be considered as a gentle breeze and drizzle.

He couldn’t help but think that if he had not kept his word, Rong Jing wouldn’t have let him go. It occurred to him that Rong Jing actually didn’t do anything until after he decided to fulfill his promise, which meant that Rong Jing had been observing him.

Could such a meticulous and observant person really have allowed him to bully him for so many years?

If Rong Jing’s identity was fake, then what else was true? Will I be greeted with multiples of retaliation later?

A cold wind blew past him and he trembled. The librarian looked at him and gave him a glare, “If you don’t want to do it, you can leave.”

Lu Jin swallowed and said, “I-I’ll do it.”

When Ji Leping turned off his live video, his classmates’ group chat exploded. There was a heated debate whether the person they saw was really Rong Jing, and if so, whether Rong Jing was a small mountain of gold, and why he pretended to be poor.

Soon, the news was posted on the school forum but no one knew where it came from.
