Chapter 2 “First Mission Part 1”

This Translation is hosted on https://bcatranslation.com/

Dawn stared at the pendant, constantly wondering what this abnormal possession meant.

Did it mean that there was something wrong with me at the moment? The problem is I don’t feel anything out of the ordinary. Although the sun is good today, it’s not hot at all, and aside from some drowsiness this afternoon, I don’t find anything strange with myself.

A trick toy?

Giving a final glance at the pendant, Dawn couldn’t help but curl his lip before placing it into his pocket. Since he’s also curious about the reasoning behind this haunting, this first mission given by the pendant was a good matchup.

After all, his house being haunted was jointly confirmed by several tenants already. Before he didn’t want to investigate the cause due to others being around, but now no one’s left so whatever worry he had was gone. He was free to do whatever he liked.

Dawn strolled through the house while contemplating where this ghost might be hiding. Firstly, he’s lived here for twenty-odd years. One could say he knew every window, every door, every spot that had light or not, and every dusty corner, he knew it all. If there were to be a ghost inhabiting his home then it would have to be recent; otherwise, these freaky incidents wouldn’t only occur in the past six months.

After a long while, he finally came back to the storage room when he found nothing else in the other spots. Right here, in the back part of the storage had another door leading down to the basement. This area was rarely, if ever used by anyone, meaning the only spot likely to house an unwanted guest.

Due to the old age of the house, the basement in question was much larger than compared to the other buildings in the neighborhood. It’s primarily used to store old junks that predated even Dawn himself from the previous owners. And on top of the humid nature of the rainy season, it’s sort of moldy and unfit for living. Gradually, he had abandoned this area and never touched it until today.

Gathering his nerve, Dawn flicked on his flashlight before opening the door. There’s no working light in the basement due to the years of abandonment, therefore he had to be extra careful in his steps. The stairs creaked at every turn, adding in the limestone walls that had molds growing on the surface, the mood was especially oppressive as he made his way downward.

First scanning the room with his flashlight after reaching the bottom, there’s nothing to see really. Old damaged furnitures, a few scattered debris of some items that had faded due to age, and a lot of dust like he remembered.

But then he frowned after noticing something strange. Unlike some of the pieces here that are coated in a thick layer of dust bunnies, a few useable furniture weren’t so dirty like someone had used them before. He knows no one had the key to enter this basement so it’s very abnormal.

Did someone sneak in here in secret? But the lock isn’t broken so did they pick it and get inside?

Suddenly, Dawn’s pupils shrank inward as a chill crawled up from the feet and into his head. From an old cabinet in front of himself, a trace of red liquid was slowly seeping through the cracks.

“Blood!”

Screeching in his scalp, the guy’s first instinct was to flee. Unfortunately for him, despite the staircase supposedly being right behind his back, there’s nothing there when he turned around, only a wall of limestone bricks!

How in the world did I get lost?!

Ghost wall?

There really are ghosts in my own house! And I’ve delivered myself to them!
