Chapter 26 “Shadow Step Part 2”

Since Shadow got tied up by the golden rope, she’s out of the battle, meaning it’s a three versus three fight. Unfortunately, everyone here knew how useless Dawn was in combat, which leaves Boink and Patty who could do anything. Worse, the hamster only knew illusions and was a failure in physical fighting, effectively making this a one versus three with Patty being the only fighter.
“Captain, all the entrances and exits have been set up, they can’t escape.” Lackey two respectfully made his report to the bearded leader.
“We’re screwed….” Boink starts trembling since he’s the most cowardly.
“What a windfall. In addition to this vampire, there are also three extras for us.” The middle-aged captain narrowed his eyes in at the three and grinned, “Surrender now and I will consider sparing your lives.”
“Don’t listen to him! He’s only saying that because he wants us alive!” Shadow and Patty yelled in unison.
Dawn of course understood this. It’s not unheard of for criminals to go back on their words after the surrender. If they are going to pin their hopes on the mercy of an enemy then they might as well dig their own graves now.
Patty didn’t waste this chance and rushed at the three intruders with her corrosive red mist surrounding her body. This caused the bastards to retreat back into the hallways in order to avoid erosion.
“Humph…. Impudent things. Once the mist disperses, we will charge inside and finish them.” The bearded leader coldly snorts in irritation.

“This bit of mist… can perhaps hold out for two minutes. We need to come up with a solution in this time.” Patty appears even weaker than before as she softly collapses back against the chair.
Dawn pondered the dilemma. In his head, forcing a fight was out of the question. The difference in strength was too huge. Surrender and wait for an opening? That’s also out. Just look at the gold rope still wrapped around Shadow’s body. That leaves the option of fleeing. It’s plausible, but they’re underground and there are supposedly a lot of traps placed by the enemies at the exits. The success rate of that plan wasn’t high.
“First help get me out of this bind. I have a way!” Shadow’s been struggling to get up and kept wiggling herself like a worm. She’s in no mood to joke and wanted out of this deplorable position, especially when Boink kept poking her face like he’s discovered a new toy.
Dawn obliged by rummaging through the boxes and cabinets until he found a knife, scissor, and a tong from underneath the bed. However, whether it be Boink’s teeth or Dawn’s effort with the tools, they were utterly useless against the magic rope. Time was running out with every second they wasted.
“Landlord! The Gods Hand! Try reinforcing the scissor!” Seeing how helpless everyone was, Shadow suddenly came up with an idea in desperation.
“Good plan!” Dawn did not dare to be sloppy and immediately did so.
As the ethereal hand materializes in midair, Patty’s eyes widened in shock at this unexplainable sequence of events. There’s awe plastered all over that face of hers, and for once, she realized this so-called landlord was anything but ordinary.
Not taking much time, the +1 scissor now got a little shinier as Dawn came down at the binding rope. Like a bundle, it’s promptly loosened up after a snap like an elastic band.
“Put this in a game and it will be a epic class weapon….” Boink murmured and puffed up his cheeks in awe.
Before the group knew it, the party became enveloped in a blinding black light.
