Chapter 47: The calm before the storm

Inside the building, on one of the rooms, Kouro is helping Kiana and Mei treat their injuries. 

Truthfully, Kouro didn't think that Mei, who had been living independently for quite a while, and Kiana, who has experience in fighting Honkai Beasts, would not know how to deal with non-lethal injuries like these scratches.

Maybe because Mei and Kiana are too fixated on the Nagazora city that they have long considered home, turning into ruins like this, making them feel tired and sad, so they want to seek spiritual comfort?"

Family, Friendship, and Love are the things that are most needed at times for self-comfort.

"I don't care! You have to treat me carefully. Can't you be gentle with me? No matter how you put it, I'm still a girl." Kiana answered adamantly which made the corners of Kouro's mouth to twitch.

"Alright, fine. I'll do it gently, now tilt your head a little."

For a moment, Kiana was immersed in Kouro's gentle tone and actions, she narrowed her eyes with a slight smile, feeling comfortable with Kouro's treatment. After a while, Kiana realized that her behavior was so embarrassing that a rosy blush quickly covered her face as she turned her head away from Kouro to avoid being stared at by him. 

Unfortunately, Kouro was too focused on her wound that he couldn't be too late to witness Kiana's act of cuteness. 

After Kouro finished treating their wounds, Mei, who was at the side, asked helplessly.

"What should we do next?"

Kiana couldn't help but stare at Kouro when she heard Mei's question. 

With Nagazora City's current condition, they couldn't stay here for long, this raises several question, how would they escape from Nagazora City? Which direction should they flee? Where should they go? 

The two girls couldn't decide on their own and began to consider Kouro as their backbone. 

 

"Firstly, we need to rest and replenish our stamina. Leave the rest to me. Oh, and I also went to the bathroom earlier and checked the water. Fortunately, the water has not been cut off. Take this opportunity to clean up a bit.

The dreamy Mei also temporarily restrained her thoughts and engaged in a conversation with Kiana while walking downstairs to go to the only place that had a bathroom. Mei helped the impatient Kiana wash her clothes and remove the stains that were not visible to the girl's eyes. The atmosphere was very relaxing, but unfortunately, it didn't last long.

About fifteen minutes after they started bathing.

*Boom!!*

A loud ear-splitting noise came from nearby.

After staying silent for a for a moment due tot the very loud noise, Mei and Kiana turned around hastily and saw that the floor had been shattered in half by some kind of enormous object where the two of them were.

"What happened here!?" Kiana said, surprised when she saw the scene.

However, now, at outside the building, there was a Being that was bigger than the building itself.

After all, the building they were currently staying at had more that ten floors and could be considered a relatively tall building in Nagazora City.

It was an extremely large Honkai Beast with a shield on one hand a lance on the other.

The object that easily split the building into two pieces like tofu is the extremely large Templar-class Honkai Beast, the Honkai Beast in also not an ordinary templar, but a variant templar, called 'Storm Templar'.

Its weapon is clearly a lance which uses stabbing as it's main attacking method, yet the Storm Templar slashed down with it as if it was a sword. 

Its weapons, which is also extremely large in size and has incredibly terrifying power, can deal an unimaginable amount of damage.

At this moment, a couple of meters away from Mei and Kiana, was a bottomless hole created by the Storm Templar's attack, the surrounding buildings had collapse as steel and concrete had no resistance against the attack.

Because of that attack, the walls, rooms, and the floor had split open and made a huge V-shaped hole.

Through this hole, Mei and Kiana can look up and see the Storm Templar that is more striking than the sky above.

And the place that the Strom Templar attacked was the room they had stayed at before and Kouro was still there.

"No! Impossible! Kouro couldn't possibly die! Impossible!" Kiana screamed in disbelief.

At Kiana's side, Mei's eyes went blank, and she shook violently, her mind which was shaken by the loud explosion had cleared and transformed drastically at this moment.

And then-- 

"KOUROOO!!!!" Mei screamed as loud as she could as a huge purple lightning fell from the sky and lit up the entire night sky and wrapped the enormous Storm Templar.

"Kyaa!!" Kiana was thrown hard into a wall due tot the impact of the aura Mei is emitting.

"Mei… senpai… Kou… ro." Kiana stretched her hand out weakly before fainting.

In front of that bright light, at this moment, it seems the real Third Eruption is coming.
