Chapter 64: Dropkick

While Kouro an the others were resting.

Ayame, who is still at Senba Academy, opened her eyes slowly after recalling all of her host body's memories.

From the window, Herrscher Ayame could see Kouro, Sakura, Theresa, and Higokumaru slowly making their way towards her.

She then jumped from the broken window and walked slowly towards them as well with thorny vines beginning to grow and move around following her.

Kouro and the others looked at the approaching Pseudo-Hetrscher warily.

She didn't attack first and instead stared at Kouro and asked curiously.

"How come you're still alive after being infected by my poison?"

"..."

Sakura and Higokumaru are shook by the revelation, after all, poison that originated from Herrscher's would be terrible, moreover, there is no known antidote that is able to eliminate a Herrscher's power, the only way to get rid of it is to ask the Herrscher itself to remove it or have Herrscher power themselves.

Thinking of this, Sakura and Higokumaru stared at Kouro with deep gazes, especially Higokumaru, she is a Herrscher after all so she is able to detect other Herrschers, and she couldn't feel any Herrscher power from Kouro's body.

Kouro does not know that he is currently being labeled as a Herrscher by Sakura and Higokumaru.

"I don't know how you neutralized my poison, but your act of returning back here is very stupid."

"..." Kouro just kept his silence and observed her cautiously.

"Ah... Are you afraid that I will stab you in the back again?" Herrscher Ayame said with a sweet smile. 

"..." Kouro remained silent still, but one could see that he is holding onto the Nitro Crystal Greatsword very tightly.

"So cute. Ah... Kouro-kun... Do you want to know how I felt when I stabbed you?" Ayame spoke again, ignoring the presence of Sakura and the rest, in her eyes, apart from the floating Herrscher and Kouro, the rest were just ants.

"I LOVE IT SO MUCH! COME ON, KOURO-KUN. LET ME HEAR YOUR DESPERATE CRIES, SHOW ME YOUR LOVELY EXPRESSION!!"

Suddenly, several dozen sharp vines appeared from the ground attacking Kouro from all directions.

Kouro, who was wary of sneak attacks from the start, quickly jumped up and threw his large sword towards Herrscher Ayame.

*Swosh!*

Seeing Kouro's sword approaching her, she sprouted many vines and joined them together to form a big wall of vines.

The building behind Ayame was destroyed along with Kouro's greatsword.

As if on cue, Theresa started to pull out small chain blades from her cross and aimed it at Ayame.

Sakura ran while cutting through several thorny vines that were heading towards Theresa and Higokumaru.

The shocked Pseudo-Herrscher reflexively dodge the incoming chain blades and glared at Kouro and the other angrily.

"You vermin! Fine, enough playing around!"

All of the vines suddenly sprouted blood-red flowers that released red smoke. Kouro saw this and then put his mask on before shouting.

"Everyone! The Pseudo-Herrscher has entered Phase two! Start wearing your masks!"

The others then quickly put on their masks in accordance to Kouro's command.

"I won't let you!ĺ Several vines quickly rushed towards Kouro, who, after noticing it, jumped in the air again.

"Hmph! The same trick won't work twice." A vine that Sakura had just slashed behind Kouro suddenly shot over towards Kouro with a very fast speed.

"Whoa...!"Kouro couldn't dodge the vine while mid-air, so that vine pierced his stomach and he could feel a burning sensation on his stomach before it disappeared after a moment.

[Skill 'Unknown' has been activated}

[Buff: Cure Poison's effect is healing you]

"Kouro!" x3

Seeing that Kouro has momentarily paused for a while because if the poison, Ayame used her vines to bind Kouro.

"Theresa, Now!" Then, several golden colored chains appeared from the ground, binding Kouro and Herrscher Ayame together.

"You!" Staring at Kouro furiously, she wanted to stab the vines into Kouro's smiling face.

"What!?"

Herrscher Ayame could feel her control of her power slowly diminish, the roots around Sakura also slowed down.

Kouro suddenly hugged Herrscher Ayame tightly and said close to her ear.

"I'm sorry, Ayame. I'm really, really sorry. I hope you will forgive me this time."

"Hah?" Herrscher Ayame froze in Kouro's embrace, before suddenly feeling a sense of relief, then she understood that what the original Ayame really wanted was just an apology.

Noticing that Herrscher Ayame wasn't attacking anymore, Kouro shouted.

"Higokumaru!"

"Wakatta!" Higokumaru came out from behind Sakura and Theresa's protection and quickly approached Ayame, she placed her small hand on Ayame's forehead and absorbed her Honkai Energy.

'Ahh... I envy you much, Ayame.'

Were Herrscher Ayame's last thoughts before closing her eyes and laid in Kouro's arms.

The sunlight reflects Herrscher Ayame's  smile.
