"Hey..." A young boy nudged his grandmother's body desperately trying to awaken her as tears ran down his face as he continued to shake her lifeless body. "Please -... wake up!" He cried as he stopped shaking his grandmother's corpse he hugged her close as he whimpered silently thinking of all the good moments they had together.
Everyone was greedy, just the title of a grandchild wasn't enough to satisfy his greed. He also wants her love and wants her alive again in his arms, Why did she have to die? Why of all people just why her? Why did God take her away?
Maybe she was watching him from above, watching his pitiful state. How heartless...why take her? She was the only family he had. He has no parents, has no siblings, has no aunt or uncle and sure he has a friend. But they were sent to the orphanage he doesn't want to be next.
His resolve hardened and he promised to himself. "I'm not going back." No matter what happens. He will not go back...He will not look back, He will keep his head up. There's always tomorrow.
Looking up at the dark sky he raises his hand to reach for the stars and tries to grasp one. Just one... One is only enough to satisfy his hunger.
Bawling up his fist he looked down at the cold body resting on his lap bending his head and kissing her cheek And spoke trying to hold back his tears threatening to fall from his face again and he smiles. Grandma loves it when he smiles.
"I love you." He said a tear sliding down his face, he couldn't hold it anymore and let his eyes have a shower.
Memories of the past flooding his mind like a storm. . .
"Grandma can we not go today?" He begged in a sweet voice to an elderly woman in rags but he wore the no rags. She made sure he was dressed in clean clothing. It didn't matter if her clothing was dirty rags.
"Shhh~ be quiet now okay?" She ushered the boy to be quiet. As they walked through the back alley.
The sound of vicious dogs barking didn't stop their quiet peaceful time. As if the world revolved only around them as if they were the only people in the world.
