Chapter 18 - One would end up with spoiled rotten kids who didn't know good from bad (1)

"Su Dazhi, what's wrong with you today? How dare you say that to me!" Liu Mei looked at Su Dazhi with surprise. "I'm your wife!  Do you still want to live together?!"

Of course he did, but he wanted to live a happy life. Whenever she threatened him with this in the past, he would fold and listen to her. He handed over his salary to her because she said they would need it for their future. She painted a happy future together.

But, he couldn't even see any good days now. Big Sis was right. If Liu Mei was really good to him, how could she refuse to give him even a penny and let him go hungry?

The hunger in his stomach gave him courage. With a resolute expression, he demanded, "Give me money and food tickets. I'm a grown man. How can I have no money on me?"

"Su Dazhi, you're raising h*ll!" Liu Mei jumped out of the bed in anger. She had married Su Dazhi not just for his job, but also because she felt he was very suggestible and would listen to her on everything. She felt aggrieved. They hadn't been married for long, and he was already changing.

No, this won't do. If she went along with him now, he would ask for even more next time.

She pointed at Su Dazhi's head and said, "Su Dazhi, if you dare to continue speaking to me like that, I'll go back to my parents' home, and you can live alone. I'll see how you can live the rest of your life as a bachelor."

Su Dazhi was immediately a bit scared.

There were unmarried men in their 30's and 40's in the factory. Some of them had decided to look for partners from the countryside. Unlike urban people, rural people didn't receive food rations by the government. After marrying a rural wife, the husband would be the breadwinner. When they had children, the children would follow the mother's rural residence registration. One person would have to raise an entire family.

Liu Mei saw that he had lost his momentum. She sneered and said, "If you listen to me, I'll continue living with you. If you won't listen to me, I'll leave you. Just wait to be a laughingstock."

Su Dazhi was stifled. He slumped onto the bed.

Big Sis was right. The family couldn't be separated. The family wasn't separated now, and Liu Mei already dominated him. If the family was separated, his life wouldn't be livable. Fortunately, he had Big Sis. Everything would be okay once she came home.

Liu Mei saw him lying on the bed and also got onto bed. After that spat, she felt angry too. She wholeheartedly planned for their little family, and this fool was throwing a tantrum.

And so, she turned over. Her back faced Su Dazhi. If he didn't apologize and coax her, she wouldn't speak to him. Let's see who would give in first.

---

Su Yu only recuperated in the hospital for two days before she decided to go back. After all, she had to keep her job. Fainting because of malnutrition wasn't considered a serious illness. If she lingered in the hospital for too long, her good reputation would turn bad. For a person motivated to win the title of a model worker, she absolutely couldn't allow that to happen.

Su Xiaozhi's last two days had been quite comfortable. In the name of taking care of his sister, he didn't even have to go school. Other than going to the hospital during mealtimes, he could run wild the rest of the time. His life couldn't be more comfortable.

Hearing that Su Yu was about to be discharged from the hospital, he was a bit down. "Sis, you should stay in the hospital longer. Your health isn't good."

As long as his sister was in the hospital, his days of playing would continue.

Su Yu could see through his transparent motive. "That won't do. Didn't Big Sis promise to find you a job? If I don't leave the hospital, how will you get a job? My heart is so uncomfortable when I see you're unhappy."

Su Xiaozhi froze in surprise. His sister was doing all this for his sake. His sister had shared with him that Union Officer Yan had told her to stay in the hospital for a few more days. And yet, his sister insisted on leaving the hospital early. As it turned out, she was leaving early because she wanted to find him a job.

"Sis, you treat me so well." Su Xiaozhi was so moved.

Su Yu chuckled. The original owner had treated him so well, but he never appreciated it. She let him drop out of school to get a job, and he was happy about it. So, that's why one shouldn't spoil children. Otherwise, one would end up with spoiled rotten kids who didn't know good from bad.
