Chapter 63 - If she didn't eat that money back, she would always feel a loss (3)

"Three bowls of rice and three bowls of shredded pork soup," someone shouted from the pickup counter.

Drooling, Su Xiaozhi slipped away to fetch the food and came back with it.

Su Yu and Su Xiaozhi started to ravenously eat the rice and soup.

Seeing how they ate the food with relish, Wu Guozhi felt like blood was dripping from his heart. That was his hard-earned money!

"Why aren't you eating? Do you not like it?" Su Yu asked while eating.

Wu Guozhi lowered his head and started eating, but it felt like he was chewing wax, utterly tasteless.

After the meal, Su Yu and Su Xiaozhi were very full.

Su Yu sighed. She felt like it had been forever since she ate so well. No wonder Wu Guozhi liked to eat other people's food. It felt so good.

Putting down the chopsticks and bowl, Su Yu picked up her bag to go. "I still have something to do. Guozhi, don't go home too late. Let's go to the movies when we have time."

Wu Guozhi said with a sullen expression, "I'm very busy lately."

"Oh, never mind then. Work is the most important thing. Xiaozhi and I are going," Su Yu said with a smile. Then, she pulled Su Xiaozhi along as she left.

Seeing that Su Yu was leaving without even trying to say something to improve his mood, Wu Guozhi angrily smacked the table. This woman was outrageous!

"What are you doing? This is a public place. Do you have no sense of civility?!" The waitress shouted from the order window.

Wu Guozhi: "..."

Outside, Su Xiaozhi touched his stomach in contentment. "Sis, are you not worried that Older Brother Guozhi is unhappy? He looks angry."

"Not at all. Wu Guozhi isn't that petty. Don't worry," Su Yu confidently said.

Seeing his sister like this, Su Xiaozhi thought; any insightful person could see that Wu Guozhi was sulking over having to pay for dinner. It was only because his sister was so honest that she could still believe in Wu Guozhi so much.

Regardless, he wouldn't foolishly tell his sister the truth. He wanted nothing more than for his sister and Wu Guozhi to break up.

By the time they got to the school, it was almost time for the class meeting. She had Su Xiaozhi wait at the entrance for her while she quickly went to the classroom.

There were many people in the classroom: mostly homogenous teenagers and a few older people in their early twenties. Most of them glanced at her when they saw her coming in.

Su Yu pretended she didn't see their looks. She entered the classroom with a smile and sat down in the first row. She lowered her head and started reading a book.

Soon, the class bell rang, and the students fell silent. Soon after, there was the sound of footsteps. Su Yu looked up. It was an old lady in her sixties.

Seeing the teacher's stern expression and no-nonsense appearance, Su Yu knew right away how to make the best first impression on the teacher. She surreptitiously took out the black hairpin that she didn't like from her pocket and pinned up her bangs.

Sure enough, after the teacher swept her gaze over the classroom, she looked at Su Yu for a few seconds before talking.

The teacher's last name was Xu, and she had been working as an accountant for a long time. She was an experienced teacher and taught almost all of the new classes.

"I don't care who your family members are or which work unit you belong to. When you're at school, you only have one identity, a student! The country has given you an opportunity to receive education. Cherish it. Since you're here to study, then work on achieving results. Don't think about messing around. If I discover that you're wasting this opportunity, it won't be as simple as reporting you to your work unit."

Before class had started, the students received a wave of warnings. They wilted like frost-stricken eggplants.

Su Yu was pumped up. She liked coming into contact with such a cute old lady.
