~ 19th of February, 1980.~
~Flamel House, 51 Rue de Montmorency, 3rd arrondissement, Paris, France.~
'Tch…who turned on the damn lights?'
Laurent grumbled inwardly as he struggled to resume his blissful sleep. His eyelids twitched at the sudden change in lighting.
Frankly, he was quite annoyed. He had already stressed to James, his roommate, several times to stop turning on the damn lights before he woke up. He even bought the guy a lamp and flashlight to use so he could sleep in peace with the lights off.
Laurent was one of those guys who simply could not sleep whenever the lights were on. He had grown up sleeping with the lights always turned off and had long become accustomed to it.
Thus, realizing he would not be able to sleep any longer, Laurent opened his eyes, intending to complain to his roommate and ask him why he turned on the lights.
Alas, once Laurent opened his eyes, he got the shock of his life.
"AAAH!" Laurent yelled as soon as his eyes met the figure in front of him. It was an old man…an extremely old man. He had silvery white hair that cascaded down his neck, lustrous silver eyes that glittered under the bright lights, and a fairly long silvery white beard that reached just above his chest. His face was full of wrinkles and his skin looked ghastly pale.
The man was staring at Laurent and smiling warmly…well, more like creepy in Laurent's eyes.
'What the fuck?! Why is an old man in my room?!' Laurent thought, completely bewildered. He was about to sit up but to no avail. His body felt out of his control and sluggish, which startled him.
It was then Laurent finally noticed several things that were not right. Firstly, why did he feel so small? Why was his voice so high pitched? Why was he so close to this old man?… It was almost as if he was being carried...surely not, right?
Laurent looked around frantically, desperately trying to understand just what in god's name was going on. Once he did, he was given yet another scare. Where the hell were his Messi posters? Why did this place look so dull and medieval? Everything was gray and looked antique.
'Maybe I'm just dreaming..Yes, surely it's got to be a dream…Let's calm down.' Laurent thought, taking a deep breath and relaxing himself, thinking he was just having a nightmare.
"Hah..It seems he doesn't quite like you Nicolas. Give him to me…let me have a look at our boy. I doubt I'll have a lot of chances to." A weak, cracked, and archaic feminine voice sounded, snapping Laurent out of his thoughts.
Laurent turned his head to decipher the source of the voice.
It was an old lady, one that seemed to be as old as the man carrying him. Like the man, she had long, lustrous silver hair, and a face full of winkles. However, unlike the man, her eyes were a deep steel blue. Her complexion was ghastly pale…way more than that of the old man. The lady was in white garments and was laying down on a worn-out looking bed.
'Huh? Who's this? She looks like she's about to pass away any second. Shouldn't she be in a hospital?!' Laurent exclaimed in his head, feeling a mix of emotions. He was feeling frightened that maybe he was not dreaming, and concerned; concerned that this nice looking old lady was about to kick the bucket.
Laurent was also confused. Our boy? Was she talking about him?
'D-Did I get reincarnated…Surely not right?' Laurent thought fearfully, not daring to imagine such a thing. It was something he had only read about in novels and never once thought it was possible.
Nicolas chuckled upon hearing his wife's comment, "Alright Perenelle…be careful, he's quite heavy.." he said, in a gruff voice as he walked moderately towards Perenelle's side and handed Laurent, who was now a baby, to her.
Perenelle smiled warmly upon receiving her newborn son, "Ah, look at you… Tu es très beau! I'm your Maman." she said playfully, in her weak, cracked voice.
(A/N: Tu es très beau means 'You are very beautiful' in French.)
Laurent blinked his bright blue eyes as if realizing something.
'Perenelle….Nicolas…French…No fucking way..I-It can't be. Did I get reincarnated into the Harry Potter world?! …What lunacy is this?!'
Laurent thought, shocked at his conjecture. It was the only plausible thing he could think of. Now that he thought about it, that old man looks dreadfully similar to a man he saw in the Fantastic Beasts Movie series he watched a few years back…

"Are you sure you don't want to name him Nicolas?" Perenelle asked her husband as she cradled her son lovingly.
"Yes dear…you know I'm bad at naming things…" Nicolas chuckled and responded, smiling softly at his wife.
"You're right…god knows what you would've named our beloved boy." Perenelle laughed lightly, and said, still cradling Laurent.
Nicolas laughed as well, "So have you decided on a name?" he asked.
Perenelle smied. She looked at Laurent lovingly, before saying "Yes. His name shall be Adrien Timothée Flamel…"
'Flamel?....FLAMEL?!...So I did get reincarnated…For fuck's sake…' Laurent thought gloomily as soon as his conjecture about being reincarnated was confirmed. He was not happy whatsoever. If he was really reincarnated, then all his hardwork on Earth had gone down the drain.
That was not even the worst of it. If he was really reincarnated, it meant that he would be missing the hard earned date he bagged with the actress he met at a party.
'This is terrible…' Laurent thought, aggrieved at the prospect of missing his date. He was also dreadfully sad because getting reincarnated would mean that he would not be able to see his parents, siblings, or friends ever again.
Laurent sighed and thought about his 19 years of life back on Earth.
He, Laurent Blanc, was born to a wealthy family of French politicians back on Earth. Both his parents were senators in the French government, and he was the 2nd of 3 children. The other 2, being his elder brother and younger sister.
From a young age, Laurent was always interested in books so he read every book he could lay his hands on. It was through this that his parents discovered his abnormally high IQ. Laurent was tested to have an IQ of 170 at the age of 4, making him one of the youngest geniuses humanity had ever seen.
Once his parents saw that, they immediately hired the best lecturers and professors they could find, disregarding any costs associated with it….they were stinking rich anyways.
Laurent absorbed knowledge like a sponge. It was through his home schooling that he discovered his passion, Mathematics. He simply loved manipulating numbers and using them to explain natural phenomena. For him, solving a complex equation was akin to an addictive drug. It was intoxicating and made him feel serene… every single time.
Thus, by the age of 10, Laurent was already an accomplished Mathematician. He could solve complex differential calculus problems, and was thoroughly versed in all areas of Mathematics.
By the age of 16, Laurent was ready for college. Though, this was largely due to his parents. They didn't want him to go to college too early because they felt he still needed time to grow up, much to Laurent's dissatisfaction.
Laurent went to Stanford University and pursued a double degree in Advanced Mathematics and Physics. Laurent's going to college saw his Mathematics career explode and take off drastically.
At the age of 17, he became a global celebrity, Nobel Laureate, and Fields Medalist by completely solving Schrödinger's equation.
At the age of 18, he stunned the world yet again by proving The Riemann Hypothesis, earning him the Clay Research Award, another extremely prestigious award for any aspiring Mathematician.
At the age of 19, he solved Goldbach's Conjecture, making his name revered in the field of Mathematics in the process. The same year, he bagged his dream job at NASA as a Research Scientist. He was set to start after his graduation from college, the year he turned 20.
The night before he got reincarnated, he went to a party hosted by some of America's wealthy elite. There, he met tons of celebrities and bagged a date with the most beautiful actress he had ever seen; she was 23 and was one of Hollywood's current youngest stars.
That same night, he got awfully drunk and had to take a taxi back to his dorm room. Technically, as a millionaire, he could've moved out of his dorm a long time ago but chose not to because he liked the feeling of being on campus.
Who would've thought that he would be reincarnated that same night? Certainly not him.
Laurent…no, Adrien sighed heavily once more and gazed into Perenelle's sparkling blue eyes.
'I can't believe this is happening to me…'
