It occurred to him that even the small town of Brightburn took him a few days to completely exterminate and conquer. He could perhaps completely exterminate the town in half a day, but it still will take time
If he wanted to exterminate the whole world's population, how long would that take? A few months?
The other way was to make them submit to him, but it wouldn't be easy
Furthermore, there would be people that could give him trouble like Hancock. And what if there was many more like Hancock?
What if there was an army of Hancocks? Surely he wouldn't be able to defeat them with brute force, right?
That's why he would look for Hancock's ship, so he could find his weakness like his own was. At least, that was what he was telling himself
"What is it with this traffic?" Brandon muttered from the air, seeing an endless stream of cars barely moving, all heading away from LA
"Maybe that bastard Hancock is finally revealing his colors and attacking. I knew I wasn't the only one wanting to conquer the Earth" Brandon said to himself
He landed in a deserted alley, to observe what was going on
He saw soldiers running with weapons, as tanks rolled out, heading for the Santa Monica area
Not that Brandon knew wherever that was. He was simply following where the action was
"Hey... kid! It's dangerous... strange" a soldier said
"What is it?" another soldier asked
"I could swear I saw a kid just there. Must be the stress getting to me" the first soldier said, as they continued running towards the beach area
Brandon followed in the shadows, moving at superspeed, before he saw it floating in the far sky
It was a large alien ship hovering in the air, with multiple flying spacecraft flying around
Brandon could see the destruction in the background, as the buildings were completely rubble
He could see soldiers, tanks and fighter jets attacking as the alien defended itself
The aliens must not be very powerful, if human weapons could cause damage, he thought
The aliens had ground forces too, looking like mechanical robots and firing projectiles, rather than lasers
It looked like a conventional battle, as if the human soldiers were fighting with another human army
But the human army was losing, as it took multiple rounds of bullets to down just a single alien soldier
And the alien army didn't look like it could get tired, while the human army looked battered and exhausted
It was clear that they were losing, but through sheer grit, they were holding on
But they dared not retreat as there were many vehicles full of human civilians nearby, all stuck in a endless traffic jam on the highway
Suddenly, the overhead highway exploded as several cars crashed to the ground, all crushed in the debris
"Ray! Aaron!" a woman screamed, so clear that even Brandon noticed over the surrounding noise
To his shock, a whoosh of wind blew as a woman appeared and threw away the large rocks crushing the vehicles
She saw a crushed vehicle and ripped off the roof, and in an instant was cradling what looked like a human man, and a child no more than 12 years old
She wailed when over their mangled bodies, unrecognizable, but she somehow knew who they were
"No! I couldn't find you. I rushed from the grocery...." she mumbled as Brandon stared at her
She was beautiful, with long blonde hair and was quite tall
"Mu....mum?" Brandon muttered looking at her
She looked similar to him mother Tori Breyer, but a superpowered one
He was so disappointed when he dropped him mother from the sky, half wishing that she would fly and prove that she was his real mother all along
Suddenly, the blonde stood up, gently placing both bodies on the ground as she raised her hands
The weather suddenly started to change as the wind formed tornadoes about her
She looked at the alien mother spaceship in the distance and in a whoosh, she flew at it, with the tornadoes following it
Brandon didn't hesitate and shot after her
She flew directly to the mothership, crashing through buildings and alien ships trying to distract her
Brandon did the same, appreciating and admiring her total lack of mercy as she destroyed the smaller ships
She pierced right through the mothership, exiting the other side and then flew back and did the same the other direction
Brandon followed her and as they crisscrossed the mothership, the large ship crashed to the ground, looking like swiss cheese
Without stopping, she attacked the alien ground troops with her wind while Brandon shot his eyebeams
Within hours. not a single alien troop or ship remained
The blonde flew back to the two mangled bodies and gently picked them up
She looked up and saw Brandon standing close by
She didn't know what to say, her face covered in tears but his next words shocked her
"Mum? I missed you mum" he burst into tears and ran to her
Before she could stop him, he was hugging her tightly, his face buried in her breasts
Without realizing it, she hugged him in return, dropping the remains of her husband and son on the ground

She has lived for centuries and have occasionally had children
But she could never be hugged so tightly that she could feel it
However, this boy's hug felt real, and she could tell that he really needed her motherly love and attention
--
After the funeral, Mary Embrey settled her husband Ray's affairs and that of her son Aaron
She got to know Brandon better, and he was the perfect well behaved kid
She even allowed him to sleep in the same bed as her, as he even suckled her breasts to sleep
He was the same age her own son Aaron was, and she appreciated his affection
And he didn't hide his past even telling her all his atrocities in Brightburn
Somehow, she understood that he should have been raised by a superhuman mother and none of this would have happened
She understood that his parents should not have threatened him if they couldn't handle him
His father Kyle shouldn't have shot him in the head and his mother Tory shouldn't have tried to stab him
After they knew each other's secrets, Hancock was invited over for dinner
Brandon knew about Hancock and Mary's past, and knew they would eventually weaken in each other's company
But he wouldn't hurt Hancock as he knew now that if he killed Hancock, Mary would die too
As soon as they met, Hancock held Brandon's collar and threatened him
"I got you now, you little shit. You will pay for what you've done" Hancock said
Suddenly, he found himself being thrown through the wall
"I told you on the phone, don't ever threaten my son!" Mary said
"What? What about Aaron?" Hancock said
In an instant, Mary was next to him and carrying him by his collar
"I only informed you out of curtesy. I will protect him like a mother bear, so if you don't want to continue living, so right on ahead" she said
"Alright. I give!" Hancock said, not wanting to anger Mary who was more powerful than him
They sat back down on the dining table, and ate awkwardly as the ex-husband and wife and adopted son ate in silence
"Look, I know what happened in Brightburn. But you are the only one who saw his face. So keep this a secret, for me, ok?" Mary said
Hancock reluctantly agreed. But he didn't want to fight with Mary at this time, and if Brandon attacked too, he might get in trouble as his powers weakened near Mary after a while
Brandon's eyebeams could very well kill him if this happened
This became the first of the many visits by Hancock over the years as he dropped by every holiday like a step father to check in on them
Eventually, Brandon and Hancock became friendly and Mary stopped worrying about them, even allowing Hancock to bring him out to New York for a some training
Mary homeschooled Brandon, deciding that it was best that a superpowered child would be better off trained by her anyway
She was pleasantly surprised to find out that he was particularly smart, genius level in fact
He took to her training like duck to water, and indulged him in the best in whatever he wanted to learn, like science, maths and music
Brandon became the perfect son for the now single Mary. He was her pride and joy, as they lived normal lives as a single mother and son in the day time, while she trained him in her centuries of battle knowledge at night
Before long, 4 years had passed as the he finished his home schooling syllabus and everything Mary wanted to teach him, Mary thought it best if he took a solo trip to find out more about himself
He wasn't like her and Hancock, not from a centuries old race of eternals but he was... something else. Arguably just as powerful, but something else entirely
As he was now 16, their relationship was starting to get to be more than that of a mother and son
While they still slept together at night, but recently his hands had been wandering all over her body at night while they slept, and she didn't stop him
But she stopped him from outright having sex with her, even though they had started making out. She even gave him handjobs at night
For her, it was attractive to have someone else with superpowers like him, besides Hancock in her life
As she was immortal, she told him that he could decide to return to her as a son in the future, or as a lover
Brandon didn't even think about it and wanted to give her his answer right away
But Mary told him that he should explore the world, meet other girls and then decide
They hugged farewell when Mary pulled down her top
"One last time so that you'll miss me" Mary teased
Brandon didn't hesitate and indulged in her breasts before leaving
He really didn't want to leave, but he knew Mary was right about finding himself
She would always be there for him anyway.
With a final kiss, this time the first time they kissed on the lips, he took off and disappeared in a flash
