Then she heard him shout.

"Do a good work Psychologist Mo."

He was only letting her off because she had work to do for the government. She knew he wasn't that nice.

With the government work she was more likely to be promoted as well.

On her way home, she happened to pass by a street stall that sold mini wantons.

It reminded her of Glasses Boy. She would always send him to buy her mini wantons back then in school since her father didnt want her eating junk food as he had described and Baozhai was there to watch.

Strangely she got on well with Baozhai then. She didnt know why or when the lass changed. It took her back to high school days.

It had also crossed her mind but she told herself she should not be caring for other peoples feelings especially not him. It was conflicting.

"He doesn't have much of a choice does he?"

As they got into the car, Boazhai continued. "Have you asked him?"

Xiao Ai raised a brow again, this time higher. "Why so concerned for the boy sister?"

Baozhai knew she was thinking in some other direction so she quickly explained. "Its just. He looks pitiful. Why are you bullying him? You are nice."

Xiao Ai face palmed herself. This lass. "I am nice only to family. He isnt family. Besides does it look like bullying to you?"

It was Baozhais turn to raise a brow. "You asked him to lick your shoes, slapped him across the face and got him community service as punishment. Its bad that his brains aren't half as good as his face and having to do ommunity service when he's supposed to be in class. Its pitiful. Mercy on the boy sis. I dont like that my classmates think my sister is an evil dreams queen."

Xiao Ai laughed softly as she adjusted her hair. "Evil drama queen. I didnt know they called me that. I am Great Ai. I do what I want and your classmates are assholes. Especialy that Riyu. Always pretending to be nice but I bet she spreads all the gossips around."

Baozhai quickly reacted. "Riyu isnt like that. Shes nice as she is and she is my good friend. "

"Is it...?" she questioned. "Then you must not know she told your classmates your mom destroyed a home to get you in a wealthy family and that you are a country pumpkin."

Baizhai froze before she slowly composed herself. "Its not true"

"That's what your friend Riyu said. She isnt as saint as she looks. Innocent faces can deceive sis and most times the devil is always closer than you think. Close enough to eat your heart."

"Devil closer than I think." Baozhai repeated.

Xiao Ai knew she didnt confront Riyu about the incident and that might have just been what triggered Baozhai to act in such ways towards her.

But it didnt matter. She didnt care who committed the crime. If it's a ctime. Its a crime.

And she would pay for it. Regardless of how precious or memorable the time they spent together was. The girl she knew was no longer there. Or probably hiding somewhere.

When Xiao Ai got home, she quietly went in through the back door. Climbed up to the bedroom hoping that her hubby would be in the study working and by the time he would see her, she would already be fast asleep in bed.

But who would have thought that her little plan wouldnt work as planned for the minute she stepped foot into the room, she was met by a refreshing mint fragrance and the sight of her hubby sitting in bed with a wine in his hands, hair still dripping of water.

He flashed her a smile. One that made her heart jump with excitement.

"You sneak in well Mrs Gu. I almost didnt notice." He slowly drank his wine and set it down. "But thanks to your very good friend Long Lifen, I was informed of your coming home early tonight."
