"We're going, Mr. Cole, Mr. Orto. Carry Cess, I'll lead the way." Celes said to the two after blowing up the previously frozen door with a high-density magic rock the same she used to destroy the barrier.
They then nodded and proceeded to prepare.
"As if we'd let you!" A woman said and rushed in from the ruined door.
"Here's our reinforcements! There's no room for you to run away now!" Olivia said as she fight with Orto.
"Too bad, but there is. Just because a few dozens of soldiers with an average level of 15 appeared doesn't mean you win," Celes said.
(I'll simply wipe them all out again with blood.) That was what she thought as she sliced open her thumb with her sharp fangs.
(My body is small so is my reach. Using daggers now proves to be inefficient. What I need right now to kill en masse is a weapon with a long reach and a wide range. If that's so…) She thought.
"We're good to go, Celes!" Cole said. "Yeah!" Orto followed up.
"I got it. Follow just a few meters behind me." She said to them.
(What weapon has a long pole and a wide range but is also quick and agile. An ax lacks the area of effect while it has the reach. A hammer has great area but is slow, it doesn't fit my style which is based on speed. A halberd or spear is mostly a single target. Then… let's try that…) She thought as mana and blood built up around her right hand.
(Shape the blood precisely with blood manipulation, and harden it with mana just like how I'd harden mana into barriers. Form the scythe to be long and wide.) She thought as a crimson black scythe with a length of twice her height formed on her grasp.
(Alright, this took most of my stock but I still have my mana.)
(Let there be way. With my scythe, that is.) After her thoughts, she swung her new weapon left and right slashing through the crowd sloppily but efficiently enough. If they had the time to complete their formation, Celes would've been overwhelmed. Proper coordination is also a huge part of warfare.
"As if I'd let you massacre anymore of my men and escape just like that!" Olivia shouted as she tries to get past Orto.
"Did I not say we're good to go earlier? That means that you're not an obstacle for us! I'll show you another technique I have up my sleeves!" Orto shouted as he swiftly burrowed down his own shadow.
"It's something I came up with accidentally. I never would have thought I will ever use it, but right now it works perfectly against you!" He shouted such words after appearing below Olivia as his hands grabbed Olivia's feet and pulled them down the shadows.
"Shit! What are yo— uwooh!" Olivia wanted to jump away from her shadow but splendidly failed.
"When I first used that it took me half a day to get out! I'd like to see you try but we're off now!" Orto said after jumping out of Cole's shadow.
"Damn it!" Olivia shouted in frustration.
Back to Celes who is almost done clearing up the way to the door.
"You sure you still want to do this? There's only 7 of you left now, you're not a trouble to me," Celes pointed her scythe to the soldiers and said so.
The soldiers gritted their teeth and stopped hesitating, at the end they too were slaughtered by Celes' scythe.
Orto and Cole, with Amy in his arms, walked up to her and handed over another mana elixir. After she downed it in one go, they left the room and ran through the corridors.
"Can't you just bring Amy with you in your shadow?" Celes asked the two as they shook their heads in disagreement.
"We can't, unfortunately. We can only bring along those who have the shadow step skill too," Orto explained.
"I see. I didn't expect you to be able anyways because if you could then you would have done so earlier. This way-?" Celes stopped running and sent a barrage of fire arrows from where they came from.

"Celes what are you-"

Orto and Cole were confused about Celes' action and were about to ask her what is she doing when a loud screech echoed along with the sound of small explosions.
"Run! This isn't something you two can deal with. Run with Amy, and don't even think about trying to help because you're just going to get in my way. If you really want to help then leave all of your mana elixirs." Celes stated to the two.
"That's understandable but we don't know where the other girls are!" Cole said.
"Use this. It's supposed to be for the girls but it wasn't useful. I'll tell you where they are telepathically, just think of me as you let mana flow through it and speak in your mind. Go." Celes said as she handed over the hairpins that the kidnappers left behind.
"Alright, don't die, Celes! I don't know why you're so worried but don't be reckless," Orto said before running off with Cole.
'Alright, testing testing. Can you hear me, Celes?' Orto's voice sounded in Celes' head as she was preparing for what was about to happen.
'I can hear you just fine. For now, go straight and ignore the next two turns. After that go left by the next turn.' She replied.
'Alright.' Orto replied.
(It's not like I need to finish this thing off. If it was able to get to us all the way from that room then that means it has high presence detection capabilities. Then all I have to do is make sure it won't go after the others.) She thought as she prepared the magic she came up with but still haven't used.
(Appraisal is still unusable because of the sight limitations. I'll recreate this before it is near enough.) Was what her thoughts as grains of metal came out of the walls, floor, and ceiling.
It's the magic barrel that she came up with back when she was still learning magic. Not like she already got the grip of it though.
(:Appraisal: should be able to do it now.) She thought as the "thing" made its appearance in her sight, with the help of her magic vision of course.
(If it weren't for the fog I would have known what that thing is. But this is… too much…) She thought after using Appraisal.
