I glanced at the child.
I cried so hard that my eyes swelled, but I had to treat him nicely since he was my guest, even though I had no idea who he was.
“Are you living here alone?” he asked.
Well, I am the only one living here.
I nodded myhead sullenly.
“Then can you not tell anyone that you saw me today?” That was the first thing the boy said to me since we had both cried and had calmed down.
The first thing he said was a mournful request for me not to say anything.
“Why?”
“That’s…. I got kicked out, so if I get caught, they will scold me.”
“You got kicked out of your house?”
“Um… yes.”
I was also kicked out of the house, so there was nothing more to say.
That’s why the child looked pitiful.
I sat the child in my only chair and carefully pulled out a teacup.
It was the teacup that the maids who didn’t like me had left behind, with the instructions that I learn how to make tea for myself.
‘I didn’t know this would be used again.’
I felt quite lonely when I drank tea alone, so I haven’t made tea since.
I tried to wipe the dusty teacup with a towel.
“What are you doing?”
“Serving my guest.”
What do I do? I must have seemed strange because it was my first time serving guests.
I panicked and looked into his eyes.
“With that dusty teacup?”
“I only have this teacup…”
His brows furrowed.
“Enough, stop and sit down. I came here on my own. You don’t have to serve me.”
The boy welcomed me to sit, but there was no room for me because there were no more chairs. I was the only one here, so I only had one of everything.
As I stood still, I touched the teacup sadly.
“But they said it was better to drink tea after crying.”
It says so in the book that after crying you should drink something. They say it will soothe your emotions.
But, as if my words sounded harsh to the boy in front of me, he screamed.
“Who said I cried!”
I think it’s embarrassing to cry in front of people we don’t know.
I can’t tell how old he is since he’s so thin, but he appears older than Lane. My mother and father told me it’s natural for me not to cry when I’m at my age, so he must feel ashamed. I looked at the child. His ears were red, and he was frowning.
Normally, I would have admitted that I didn’t cry as well, but after crying together, wouldn’t he feel more at ease?
Seeing something like that made me want to say something so,I muttered timidly.
“You cried. We cried together.”
My eyes are swollen too.
I spoke quietly, but since there were only the two of us, he could hear me very well.
The boy had his arms crossed.

“I didn’t cry.”
“Your eyes are still red.”
“It’s because I came in through the dog hole over there and pricked my eye with a thorn.”
“There are still traces of tears.”
“That…”
The boy’s mouth was shut, as he couldn’t find an excuse. I glanced at the boy timidly.
“Anyway, I didn’t cry.”
“Really?”
The child insisted he didn’t cry until the end. I giggled a little because it was funny. Come to think of it, how long has it been since I had a proper conversation with someone like this?
“Why are you laughing like an idiot? Are you making fun of me?”
His voice was heard once again. I answered frankly, because I was afraid of hurting the child.
“No! It was my first time talking to someone like this, so it was fun!”
“What?”
The child was bewildered, but I didn’t really point it out.
I was thinking maybe I could be friends with this child. Even though this is the first time I’ve seen him, he doesn’t seem bad.
‘I can also help him.’
In addition, he said that he was kicked out of his house.
A sense of unity sprung up from being in the same situation.
So, could I be comfortable with this child? Maybe we can be good friends because we have a mutual understanding!
It’s my birthday, so God must have given me a present!
“I like you. I think you’re nice. Can you be my friend?”
“What? Why do you suddenly say that?”
I stared at him as the boy blushed and mumbled.
What do I do? I wanted to be friends, but it seems like I’m being annoying. I hurriedly stopped speaking and looked at the boy’s face. Fortunately, he didn’t look mad.
“Can’t you? ……Do you hate me because I like you? Well, then I won’t do it.”
“Who said you can’t?”
He sighed and rolled his eyes. So can I do it?
“Then I can do it?”
“… Yes .”
“Then are we friends?”
A faint voice could be heard outside as I was waiting for the boy to tell me his name.
“She didn’t even get a gift because she was such an idiot. ”
“Naturally.”
I could hear the twins talking outside. They probably came here to see me.
Now I can hear footsteps as well as their words.
If I’m to slow, the door would be opened.
Oh, no… I hastily tried to find a place to hide the boy, but my body became stiff. I looked at the boy and then at the door.
‘There’s nowhere to hide, so how, how can I…’
Suddenly, the door opened.
