There were many Orcs on the east of Blackleaf forest. That was what everybody knew.
Some Orc tribes had merged with the Fire Dragon’s clan. However, such tribes also existed that did not join the clan.
But they were being oppressed by the Fire Dragon’s clan.
That’s when the oppressed Orc tribes decided to unite together!
That was right.
It was at a pale Orc’s suggestion.
He had far superior combat power than normal Orcs possessed, and he had defeated all the Orc tribes who yielded to power. Then gathering all the dispersed Orcs, he united them under a single banner.
Soon he had turned into a formidable opponent. Someone whom even the Great Dragon’s clan dared not to antagonize. But that was while the Great Dragon was still sleeping…
And now.
The Orc tribe was named Heavy Spear. Under the leadership of the pale Orc, the tribe formed an alliance with the City of Dawn and became the greatest opponent of the Winged people.
This tribe had a population of 110,000. Among them, at least 60,000 Orcs could wield weapons and fight.
The Winged people were similar to the Elves in nature, and they had almost a thousand years of lifespan.
But they were not aggressive by nature. Even though their attributes were rather high and they were professionals, very few of them actually became soldiers. Hence, the Winged people didn’t regard the existence of the Heavy Spear tribe as a major threat. They had no intention to exterminate these Orcs.
However, even if they had such an intention, the Winged people might not be able to defeat the Orcs…
Like the Elves of Blue Moon Town, the Winged people could all become soldiers.
But unless it was a critical situation, the Winged people did not engage in conflict. They were not fond of wars. To them, it would be a waste of their thousand-year lifespan if they died on a battlefield.
If they became soldiers, they would put all their minds into the profession.
Even when the Winged people were in a disadvantaged position.
They would always strive to improve it. They were very focused, and weren’t distracted.
The pale Orc’s name was Altaic.
His ancestor was a legendary warrior called Azog…
Good.
Azog had a broken arm and wanted to kill the Dwarves, especially the Dwarves of the Lonely Mountain. They were Azog’s enemies.
At the southeastern corner of the legendary continent, who commanded the highest bounty in the underworld?
It was none other than the deputy Lord of the City of Dawn, Odom Heavyhammer. He ranked in the top three list of the bounty hunters.
The bounty on Odom was 100,000 gold coins. And if the bounty hunter was able to obtain his head, he could ask for additional rewards too.
Generally, bounties were issued by wealthy people. If someone could actually kill Odom, they did not mind giving out a legendary weapon as a reward…
Ranked on the bounty list were characters who were extremely hard to kill. They were either influential, had superior combat power or were hard to locate.
Odom Heavyhammer was the deputy Lord of the City of Dawn. He had a large group of followers and his combat power was impressive. Normal people would be unable to lay their hands on him.
But a rare and sudden opportunity had presented itself to Altaic.
He met a mysterious dark warlock. The dark warlock wanted to team up with him to defeat the entire Dawn Army. He was thinking of building an Abyss altar.
The reward was Odom Heavyhammer who was third on the bounty list.
Altaic knew that the chances to kill Odom would become rarer, and such an opportunity may not present itself again. He decisively chose to join the dark warlock.
He was not worried that the dark warlock would cheat him of Odom’s head.
Because Altaic was not afraid of the warlock!
He led 3,000 elite Orcs from his tribe. He was trying to evade the detection of the Winged people, and his party stealthily moved along the coast. He wanted to kill Odom when the Dawn Army started fighting with the dark creatures.
When the Dawn Army was less than five kilometers from the Devil’s Den, an incident happened. New information came. William who was mounted on his warhorse looked at the magical intelligence with interest.
“Fresh footprints were discovered on the coastline?” William threw the magic scroll back to Fiu Roeser. A Tauren scout had discovered this information.

Fiu Roeser had just received the intelligence. He could not determine if it was an important piece of news. Since they were at a critical juncture, he immediately reported to William.
Though the magic transmission scrolls were expensive, William had still spent 10,000 gold coins to purchase 100 scrolls. Many of his scouts, spies and confidantes each had one.
“Is it important information, my Lord?” Lautner curiously asked.
“Take a look at the scroll yourselves while I contemplate!” William waved his hand to send out the scouts to watch the surroundings. The army would take a rest.
“We can’t continue with the war.” The Temple Messenger shook his head. He had read the news, and believed that the footprints were from the reinforcements for Devil’s Den.
The Temple of Light had suffered serious casualties recently. If the Temple Knights of the City of Dawn were to suffer the same fate, then the Temple Messenger would be severely punished.
Odom remained silent. He felt there was an ambush awaiting the army, and it could be fatal. He felt the ominous sign hanging above his head.
While the others were engaged in furious discussions.
They explored the merits of attacking and retreating.
Even Sia who was normally quiet also gave her opinions…
Finally, the consensus was to retreat. Even though the expedition would be a failure, they had not suffered any casualties. The honor points of the Dawn Army would not drop too much in the eyes of the residents. The commoners would not grumble to the Lord either.
But!
William did want it that way.
He surveyed the 4,000-strong Dawn Army. 2,000 of them had silver quality equipment set and gold quality weapons.
The rest of the 2,000 soldiers had blue quality equipment.
Even the 800 mercenary soldiers had blue quality equipment.
The blacksmith shops were unable to produce enough silver quality equipment, hence 2,000 of them were not upgraded to the middle level.
Out of the 4,000-strong legion, at least 2,300 of them were middle-level professionals. Even though they had just become middle-level professionals, their battle energy and skills were not very strong.
But they were soldiers specially selected by William.
Their bloodlines were higher than middle level. Some even had the high and the master level!
So what?
They were elites in the eyes of the players. BOSSES!
The reason why William did not want to retreat was that he desired to have an invincible army morale!
And it would be achieved only if the army remained undefeated.
If it could manage to, then the army would receive the legion BUFF!
The players discovered this information in the game version 2.0.
That occurred in a knight legion of the Temple of Light.
The head of the legion was Lancelot.
In the game version in which darkness invaded the world, Lancelot had led a 3000-strong legion of Temple Knights and won every battle. It was as though his legion was endowed with godly powers.
The invincible army morale made the legion victorious!
But the legion formed by players did not have such a benefit. The players were lazy by nature. They did not like to form a 3,000-strong legion and would just charge head-on with their numbers…
Only a few NPC legions could obtain the invincible army morale and receive the legion BUFF.
If a country sent out an army to play games, then they would have a chance. However, the chances of a country sending out soldiers to play a magical fantasy game were very slim. There was a higher chance for them to play the star wars game. Times were different now…
Earth had started to colonize Mars. Perhaps, there could be Martian players after the open beta.
“I choose… choose to attack!” William stood up abruptly.
“If the Devil’s Den is not destroyed and the darkness is not abated, I won’t be able to have a peace of mind!”
“But I won’t let my soldiers go to their deaths either!”
William unsheathed his Longsword and pointed at the Devil’s Den. “I’m willing to be an example. I will lead and explore the Devil’s Den. As for you lot… who dares to accompany me?”
Willam’s voice was not loud but all the soldiers heard him.
At that moment.
Loud unanimous roars came from the battle-hungry soldiers.
“We are willing… We will accompany the Lord, and if the time comes, we will give our lives for you!”
The tall and strong built Fiu Roeser sprawled on the ground and started to chew on the grass. He pretended that he was only an ordinary bull.
