Affected by the adults, the kid realized his imminent danger and quickly scrambled upwards.
However, that slope was steep as it was designed to keep the animals in, making it extremely difficult for him to overcome.
Every few steps Tiantian took, he would then slide back down.
Finally, he could not help it and looked behind him.
With that, the color drained from his face. He slumped down helplessly, trembling in fear with a look of abject terror in his eyes.
“Tiantian!” The woman made a chilling scream and got ready to rush up to her son’s side. Fortunately, someone held her back.
“F*ck! What are those? They’re coming in fast, and it seems like they came in a group!”
“They’re hyenas! Damn it! This area is the hyenas’ territory. OMG!”
“Oh no, why didn’t they cage up such dangerous animals?!”
“Why is the rescue team so slow? F*ck! This kid won’t hold out under the hyenas’ assault.”
Everyone was panicking and shouting as they watched the hyena pack in terror.
As for the couple, they were trapped in despair. The old lady had sat limply on the ground and knelt in prayer.
Ye Lingchen snapped into focus, his face turned serious as he watched the pack of hyenas rushing over.
Hyenas, as some may know, were a dangerous type of canine. Furthermore, they were the most popular animals to make it onto the TV screen[1].
They were aggressive. Their claws and teeth were comparable to that of a lion. Although they were much weaker than a lion individually, they were pack animals that focused on teamwork. In the wild, they were without a doubt a force to be reckoned with.
“Quick, throw rocks at those hyenas! We have to buy time!”
Ye Lingchen exclaimed as he picked up a rock and threw them at the hyenas.
“That’s right, go get some rocks. We need to chase these animals away!” The sentiment echoed in the crowd as they followed suit.
“Be careful not to hit the kid!”
“Thank you, please save my son.” The kid’s father similarly picked up a rock and threw it at the hyenas with all his might as worry lined his face.
“Woof, woof, woof!”
The hyenas were agile and dodged about with their feral instinct as they quickly approached the kid.
Due to the distance, many of the rocks thrown had hardly any strength behind them.
Although the rocks slowed the hyenas’ advance, it did not stop them. As time passed, they got closer and the crowd’s mood darkened.
“Stop throwing, you’ll hit the kid.” shouted a voice bitterly within the crowd.
The hyenas and Tiantian’s distance were only a few meters apart. If they continued to hurl rocks over, it might hit him.
“No!”
Witnessing her own child being surrounded by hyenas, the woman almost fainted. She broke down in tears.
The crowd could not help but shake their heads, sighing. It was as though the kid’s fate was sealed.
Some kind soul even advised the parents not to watch. After all, the following scene would only turn more violent.
“Daddy, Mommy…”
The kid dared not move, crying helplessly as he stared at the crowd.
Many of them had tears flowing down their cheek helplessly, powerless to help.
There were six hyenas in the pack. They circled the kid, lowering their bodies as they growled continuously at the kid, occasionally baring their teeth at him.
Apart from the bloodlust in their eyes, there was also a hint of mischief as they chose not to attack outright.
Living here for far too long, they never had any fun. Now that there was a toy that showed itself, that made them excited.

Ye Lingchen listened in to their conversation.
“It seems we’re having extra food today. This is nice.”
“Hahaha, it’s a kid. To think a human would drop in here. I wonder if it’s nice to eat?”
“His cries are interesting. I think he’s scared.”
“Ah, so noisy. That group of humans are still watching. I’m so tired of being watched by those humans every day. I want revenge!”
“That’s right. Let’s stop the game and dig in. My patience is running out.”
…
“They’re about to attack!” shouted a voice in the crowd. That person covered his eyes, unable to watch.
“Awoo~!”
Right then, a wolf howl caused their hearts to skip a beat, surprising them.
“That’s…two wolves?!” someone shouted. “Even the wolves are here?!”
“F*ck, those two wolves are just pups. However, they are really fast!”
“They seem aggressive. What are they planning to do?”
They were none other than Little Green and Little Grey. Both of them had a majestic air around them. Filled with energy, they howled while they ran.
“I order you to stop! Let that kid go!”
Shortly both of them arrived like bolts of lightning. Their tiny bodies shielding the kid as they stared down the six hyenas.
Little Green and Little Grey’s bodies were smaller than any of the hyenas, but the presence that emanated from them was extremely strong. Without fear, they bared their fangs and growled at the hyenas.
“They’re…saving the kid?”
“F*ck! This is amazing! Those two wolves are intelligent!”
“The heavens bless us, Bodhisattva’s miracles!” Tears filled the old lady’s eyes. “They must be sent by the heavens to save my grandchild.”
“Amazing. What a turn of events! Are the wolves in this safari this amazing?”
“Such cute wolf pups. It must be pure bliss to have these pups as pets!”
Cries of surprise broke out through the crowd. Everyone was excited as though they discovered something amazing. However, some of them were still worried.
“Don’t celebrate so soon. The two wolf pups are so small, and they have to fight off six hyenas. The chances of them winning are slim.”
“Yeah. How to fight?”
Those words popped the bubble and brought everyone back to reality.
They were silent, unable to accept the facts. The disadvantages were just too much.
“Woof, woof, woof!”
“Awoo~!”
The six hyenas and the wolf pups were in a heated exchange. Both sides were alert, but none were showing any compromise. It looked as though a fight would break out anytime.
“Young pup? You’re not even fully grown. Hehe, a newborn pup isn’t afraid of us hyenas. I’m in a good mood today. If you know what’s good for you, leave immediately!”
“You should be the one f*cking off. Stay away from the kid, or suffer our wrath!”
“I gave you the option. Don’t think I won’t tear you apart!”
“You? Dream on. I am well trained. I’ll hit you so hard your mom won’t recognize you!”
“F*ck! You’re asking for it. Let’s go, guys, we’ll rip this dumb puppy apart!”
[1] This part is translated as per raw. Please note that hyenas are not part of the canine or feline family. They belong to their own family of Hyaenidae. As for the TV appearance compared to other animals, we decided to keep it as is. Perhaps in the world of IAP, hyenas are the popular animal on TV screens. Cheers and have fun reading =)
