Applying Ointment
Lin Shu took the ointment and opened Shen Man’s schoolbag, throwing it in. She took a look at Shen Man and said proudly but awkwardly, “I won’t help you apply it.”
Shen Man smiled and slung the bag over her left shoulder, slowly walking out. Lin Shu stood there for a moment, but caught up and helped support Shen Man.
Looking at the smile in Shen Man’s eyes, she awkwardly said, “I just don’t want to be lectured by Tan Kai.”
Shen Man nodded while holding back a smile.
The two walked out.
After a while, Shen Man saw Tan Kai’s angry face. The male lead was still indifferent as usual. Yin Ruxu was sandwiched between the two, her beautiful face full of provocative weakness.
Hearing their footsteps, Tan Kai was the first to come over and asked with concern, “Shen Man, are you okay? What did the doctor say?”
“Just a small injury, I just need to rest for two days.” Shen Man smiled.
Tan Kai breathed a sigh of relief and scratched his head, apologizing, “I’m sorry for accidentally hurting you.”
“It’s okay. You don’t have to feel guilty.” Shen Man said, then looked at the male lead, “Thank you for your concern. I’m fine now, so if you have something to do, just go.”
Shao Qi gave a small nod and turned around to leave.
Yin Ruxu looked at Shen Man and smiled softly, “I’m leaving, I wish you a speedy recovery.”
After saying that, she hurried out.
Lin Shu sneered with mocking eyes, casually saying, “Some people just have to think everyone likes them. She’s just using you as a springboard. Did you really think she genuinely wanted to be friends with you?”
Shen Man smiled indifferently, neither anger nor surprise on her face.
It seems that she has known about it for a long time, and didn’t care at all.
A fire suddenly grew in Lin Shu’s heart. She let go of her hand and avoided walking near her. “What springboard?” Tan Kai asked in puzzlement.
“It has nothing to do with you.” Lin Shu said angrily.
“Oh.” Tan Kai laughed, and looked at the two, saying, “Let me drive my car here. Wait for me.”
Shen Man nodded and found a bench to sit down on.
Lin Shu stood there, still angry.
The atmosphere cooled down for a while.
Shen Man tapped the straps of her bag rhythmically, letting the clicks resound in her ears. She stopped tapping, gently hooked the corner of her lips, and looked at the leaves that had begun turning yellow. She asked, “Shushu, are you angry about Yin Ruxu approaching me? Or about her approaching Shao Qi?”
Lin Shu froze, and after a slight pause, she retorted, “How am I angry? From what eyes did you see that I am angry? Why should I be angry?”
She spoke faster and faster.
Shen Man smiled indifferently, and her dark eyes seemed to see through everything. She calmly stated, “Then I thought wrong.”
“Of course you did.” Lin Shu quickly replied.
After saying this, they both fell into silence.
Tan Kai parked his car in front of the hospital. Seeing Lin Shu running over angrily, her cheeks puffed as if she was bullied.
Confused, he said, “Lin Shu, what’s wrong with you? Shen Man hurt her shoulder, you should go help her.”
Lin Shu pouted and didn’t move.
Tan Kai looked at Shen Man sitting quietly, and persuaded, “Shen Man was injured because she wanted to save you. You can’t leave her alone like this.”
When Lin Shu heard that, she wanted to refute, but before the words reached her mouth, she fell silent.
She humphed and opened the door and walked to Shen Man.
Shen Man smiled faintly, as if she had expected this.
Lin Shu was even more angry.
But at the same time, she didn’t understand why she was angry.

They arrive back home.
As soon as they stepped a foot inside, Lin Shu let go of Shen Man and told Aunt He, “Shen Man hurt her shoulder, go help take care of her.”
After saying that, she strode towards her room while saying, “I’m not eating dinner.”
Aunt He was shocked and worried. She quickly helped support Shen Man’s body, “Manman, how did you get hurt? Is it serious?”
Shen Man smiled gently, looked at Lin Shu’s halting figure, and said, “It’s okay, just a little accident.”
Hearing this, Lin Shu continued walking and closed the door a moment later.
“That’s great, but you should still be careful in the future.” Aunt He said with concern.
Shen Man laughed and looked away.
Soon, Aunt He brought dinner over.
Enduring the pain, Shen Man ate slowly.
Aunt He saw her weird actions and asked, “Did you go to the hospital?”

Shen Man nodded.
“Did the doctor prescribe any medication? Do you want me to help you with it?” Aunt He added.
Shen Man shook her head with a smile and said, “No, you should be busy.”
Aunt He saw the persistence in her eyes and could only go back to the kitchen.
Shen Man carried her bag back to her room. She opened it with one hand and pulled out the ointment with another. After looking at the instructions carefully, she left her room with the ointment.
When Shen Man arrived at Lin Shu’s door, she knocked.
Hearing the knocking, Lin Shu’s heart thumped. She pursed her lips and walked over to open the door.
Seeing the ointment in Shen Man’s hand, Lin Shu immediately said, “Don’t expect me to apply the ointment for you. If you want help, go to Aunt He.”
Shen Man hooked her lips and stretched out a slender finger, slowly pulling her collar down to reveal her bruise.
It looked a little scary.
Scared, Lin Shu hurriedly turned her head.
“Shushu, if you don’t help me, it will get more and more swollen. Maybe I’ll be disabled.” Shen Man said with a soft smile.
She joked about such a serious consequence.
Lin Shu bit her lip, stared at Shen Man for a while, and grabbed the ointment.
Her small face seemed reluctant and angry. With gritted teeth, Lin Shu said, “I have never done this for anyone before. Don’t scream later.”
Shen Man smiled and walked into the room, leaning comfortably on the sofa.
Lin Shu sat beside her with hesitation. She pursed her lips and reached out to carefully pull Shen Man’s collar down.
The bruises were still shocking.
Surprised, Lin Shu lowered her eyes and opened the ointment, pressing the tube directly onto the bruise. However, nothing came out and the pressure of the tube on Shen Man’s skin hurt her.
Shen Man hissed in pain and turned around to remind Lin Shu, “You haven’t pierced the seal yet. First, squeeze some ointment onto your hand, and then apply it to my shoulder with your fingers.”
Lin Shu pursed her mouth and followed her instructions without a word.
She couldn’t couldn’t control her strength when applying, which caused Shen Man to frown in pain.
But Shen Man endured it and didn’t say anything. She turned to look at the girl’s pink, pure face.
Her long eyelashes fluttered with the frequency of movements, and the expression on her little face was very serious. She didn’t seem to have done this in revenge.
After applying the ointment, Lin Shu breathed a sigh of relief and put it aside, coldly demanding, “Okay, you can go now.”
Shen Man didn’t move. She leaned over, lowered her voice, and said with a smile, “Shushu, are you still angry?”
“I’m not angry!” Lin Shu retorted loudly and looked at the beautiful face close to hers. Her heart raced as she hurriedly turned her head away.
Shen Man smiled and stopped her teasing. She got up and said, “Thank you, Shushu.”
Lin Shu sneered as she watched Shen Man stepping out the door. Arrogantly, she told her, “I’ll help you apply medicine for the next few days. Once you get better, we’ll be even.”
Shen Man smiled.

In the next few days, Lin Shu’s skills became better and better, so Shen Man suffered less.
The bruise on her shoulder also faded little by little, taking a week to finally disappear completely.
Shen Man exercised her injured shoulder with a satisfied smile on her face, “Thank you Shushu, for taking care of me these days. I recovered so quickly because of you.”
Lin Shu ignored her and lay on the sofa, playing on her phone.
Suddenly, she suddenly sat up and shouted happily, “Next Saturday is Shao Qi’s birthday. I must dress beautifully at his banquet, and preferably be the first girl to dance with him.”
Shen Man listened with a smile on her lips and took out her phone to check the date.
A notification popped up on her phone. She skimmed it and looked up at Lin Shu, “Shushu, do you want to dance with Shao Qi so badly?”
“Of course.” Lin Shu answered without thinking, the smile on her face grew even brighter. She looked at Shen Man and said, “With your identity, you can’t attend this banquet.”
“Really?” Shen Man hooked her lips and walked to Lin Shu, showing her the message she just received. “Shao Qi personally invited me to his birthday banquet.”
“You…” Lin Shu was surprised, and with jealousy, she demanded. “Ugh, why did Shao Qi personally invite you?”
Shen Man shrugged and replied casually, “I don’t know.”
Lin Shu gritted her teeth in anger and went back to her room in her slippers.
The smile twinkling in Shen Man’s eyes cooled down. She leaned comfortably against the sofa, and held her phone in one hand, typing the word ‘Ok’.
She tapped the screen and narrowed her eyes as she looked towards Lin Shu’s room. After a moment, she clicked ‘send’.
The male lead’s birthday banquet is an important plot in the novel. The male lead and the heroine danced romantically under the sea of petals. They accidentally kissed, stealing each other’s first kiss at that moment.
Shen Man stroked her lips.
For a moment, she seemed to feel the delicate, soft lips of the girl that night.
