"Lieutenant Armel, reporting."

A tall vampiric woman with short black hair dressed in a dark uniform saluted as she entered the room.

"At ease, lieutenant."

She relaxed as the other person in the room, a dark-skinned, wolf-eared woman wearing the same uniform as the vampire, said so. The wolf-eared woman didn’t turn to face her; she only looked out the window as she savored a goblet of wine.

"Congratulations on good work, lieutenant. Managing to achieve a complete takeover with minimal bloodshed is something to be proud of."

One other person in uniform and a black armband with the red head of the wolf hung a portrait of a silver-haired vampire girl on an empty wall. Which was briefly the only sound audible in the room.

"Though, it is a shame that Loriam got away."

The woman turned to face Liora, showing her a small grin on her scar-covered face.

"I wish I could have prevented it, but..."

Liora clenched her fist. She spent almost her entire life with Loriam, so she felt like she should have known Loriam would run away. The officer in front of her, though, didn’t at all seem bothered by it.

"It would be easier to guarantee her safety if she was here. After all…"

The wolf lady then snickered sickly as she ran her thump across her neck.

"If something happens to her, our heads will fly〜"

Liora gulped nervously, but the woman in front of her only laughed. It looked like she wasn’t at all bothered by the premise of death.

"Shouldn’t we do something then?"

Liora questioned. She was happy to know that Loriam wouldn’t be killed by her colleagues. But there were still other dangers sneaking around, so Liora couldn’t help but be worried.

"We already did, lieutenant."

The woman said it nonchalantly. Which made Liora relax slightly. So, she will be fine. Liora mentally celebrated her friend being safe. While her face remained in business mode.

"Lieutenant, you should know that Oprichnina’s work is never visible."

The woman smiles mysteriously at Liora before looking out the window.

"All glory to her majesty!"

"Ha ha, it's victory! Long live the Leranpe clan!"

In a small pub attached to an inn, a group of soldiers was celebrating by downing one beer after another. On a couch not so far from this particular loud group of soldiers, a woman with the appearance of a succubus was wearing a uniform that appeared to be an officer's. She shook her head disapprovingly as she looked at them. But based on her red cheeks and the three empty beer mugs in front of her, she was not much better than them.

"Ah〜"

The officer lady let out a moan all of a sudden. But no one paid any mind to it.

Not because the other patrons didn’t hear it, but because none of the civilians were willing to show the slightest reaction to it out of fear of the drunk soldiers. And as for the soldiers themselves...

Their lack of reaction was purely out of familiarity with the situation at hand.

"N-Not here, corporal."

The officer said blushingly to the man on whose lap she was sitting: The man, a drunk vampire soldier, chuckled as his hand disappeared between his superior’s legs. Please take it elsewhere. A young woman with dark purple hair, seated at the counter, thought as she tried to finish her food in peace.

"Ngg."

The woman suppressed another moan from escaping her lips. Before she could reprimand the man, he pressed his lips against hers. Pushing her down on the couch as he kissed her.

The succubus, while deeply blushing, gave up on any pretense of resistance. As it started to look like the two would make out right there, a voice interrupted them.

"A mob of sex-crazed drunkards, and you call yourself imperial soldiers?"

At once, all the soldiers went quiet. And it took only a single sentence. The owner of the voice, a woman with light azure hair, was dressed completely in black. Walks to the counter.

"Owner, I would like a room to rest for the night, and I would like to apologize on behalf of these idiots."

The woman said this as she placed a few coins on the counter with a friendly but tired smile. As she did, the young woman with dark purple hair went wide-eyed for a moment but quickly refocused on her food.

"Here is the key. It’s the third room from the stairs."

The man behind the counter took the coins and handed the key to the woman. She took it, and with a smile still pasted to her face, she went to the stairs. As she went, it almost seemed like there was a demon tail swaying behind her.

Not so long after the woman went upstairs, another woman, this time blond-haired, entered the pub. She stopped briefly by the counter, and after getting herself a glass of blood along with some bread, she went upstairs.

The woman with dark purple hair finished eating in the meantime, and after paying her bill, she too went upstairs.

Passing by a few closed doors, she arrived at her room. And there waited for her, the blond-haired woman.

"You shouldn't take a risk like this, your majesty."

Mirei bowed down to Loriam with worry on her face. Loriam sighed and sat down on the bed.

"No one would recognize me with this color of hair."

Loriam combed her dyed hair with her finger. Naturally, her silver hair would be way too conspicuous, so in order to not be caught by the soldiers, she had Mirei get some hair dye and dye her hair.

"But even so… Your face is on the coins. People should be able to recognize you."

Loriam shook her head.

"It’s not like everyone spent their lives memorizing my face. Luckily, my hair is the only recognizable feature."

Loriam forced a smile. Without her silver hair, she simply looked like any ordinary girl. Much so if she were not wearing her usual clothes just like now.

"And besides."

Loriam turned to face Mirei.

"I am not even on those coins anymore."

Mirei nodded. It made sense, right? After all, there was a coup in the country, but to think that they would already mint new coins They work too fast.

"It also looks like... Julia is on them."

A tear runs down Loriam’s eye. Mirei looked perplexed by it.

"Your Majesty, I don’t think that her highness would do something like that."

Mirei tried to comfort Loriam. There was no reason to think that Loriam was being overthrown by her own daughter, right? Mirei, at least, firmly believed it.

Loriam only looked down, her hands in her lap. She was hoping that Mirei was right, that her daughter was only used for the sake of legitimacy and not the mastermind behind it. but she still couldn’t help but worry.

5.09. 2573 Anema, Lady Loriam is still safe. Though she appears to be in shook from losing power, The sooner she is reunited with her majesty, the better. Though if I had my way, I would just drag her to her majesty.

The azure-haired woman closed the notebook she was writhing in. As she closed it, she listened carefully to what sounded like sobbing from the next room.

"Why am I even stuck being a bodyguard anyway?"

She sighted and poured herself a drink she had with her.
