"Well? The silence isn’t going to help you in any way."

The girl continued looking at Julia with contempt. Julia slowly looked up at her.

"Who are you?"

As Julia looked at the girl, she got a good look at her face. The girl looked identical to Julia, with the sole exception being the scars on her face and arms. Despite asking, something deep inside told her that she already knew the answer. As Julia stared at her, the girl grinned.

"So, you not only want to continue deceiving others but yourself as well. What else to expect from a coward?"

Julia lowered her head; for some reason, she felt like the girl was right. Seeing this, the girl’s grin widens, and she slowly walks towards Julia.

"It was always like this, wasn’t it? You would always rather run from the truth to protect your fragile heart."

No other sound besides the girl’s slow footsteps was audible in the room. Maybe only the girl’s condescending voice.

"That- that’s not true; I did never-"

"And here we are again with the lies."

Julia tried to defend herself, but the girl didn’t allow it. Instead, she continued accusingly talking to her as she approached. Julia, though, felt like fighting back.

"I am not lying! I am not deceiving anyone and not running from anything- ughh."

"Each word coming out of your mouth just makes me want to puke. You fucking excuse of a human."

Human? Julia pondered the girl’s words amid the series of kicks aimed at her abdomen. Each kick that Julia tried to defend with her arms made the girl look happier.

"Claiming to not run from the truth, huh? That is rich; weren’t you deceiving yourself here?"

The girl audibly snickered as she spoke. Once Julia felt that the kicking had ended, she wanted to face the girl and argue back. But when she lifted her face up, instead of the girl, there was a screen emitting artificial electric light, accompanied by the soft hum of a PC.

Huh? Where am I? Julia looked around the room. The room wasn’t big by any means. If anything, it was on the smaller side. A lot of space was taken up by a bed that was located behind the chair on which Julia was sitting. In the corner next to the door was a bookshelf, whose content varied linguistically.

The bookshelf’s bottom half was filled with mostly educational books. She saw encyclopedias, history books, as well as language textbooks; in particular, she saw textbooks for Latin, German, and Russian. Not finding it at all weird, how did she even know what there were.

The upper half, on the other hand, was filled with a variety of colorful covers of light novels and mangas, as well as a few anime blue rays.

Turning her attention back to the table with the PC. She saw a half-empty bag of chips and barely touched a bottle of cola. The screen was showing several icons, while the background was showing an image of two girls, who, from the looks of it, were dating. Julia supported her head with her hands as she tried to wrap her head around what was going on.

At that time, a series of angry footsteps came from behind the door. The sound quickly closed to the door, and the door was then swiftly kicked open. Behind them stood an angry-looking girl with dark hair and bright blue eyes. She was wearing a pink shirt and a red skirt. Once she entered the room, she only briefly looked over the room and then walked to the bed.

Julia looked on as this girl angrily rummaged under the bed. The girl looked only more angry as she didn’t find what she was looking for.

"Where are they!"

The girl yelled angrily, rummaging through the blanket and the pillow. Again, not founding anything.

"So, where are they!"

The girl got back on her feet and grabbed Julia by the collar. Her expression was that of pure anger. Julia, of course, had no idea what the girl was talking about.

"Where is what?"

"My panties what else?!"

The girl’s face turned red. How am I supposed to know? Julia was bewildered. How did this girl even come to the conclusion that she would even know?

"Speak you pervert. If you give them back now, I will not tell Mom."

That made Julia’s heart hurt. How could she say that? Why would she even think that?

"What would I do with my little sister’s panties?"

Julia’s lips moved on their own, and a hurt voice could be heard from them. That only seemed to make the girl angrier. While Julia wondered why did she referred to her as a little sister.

"Something disgusting for sure. Now give them back!"

The girl that Julia felt was her sister for some reason began searching in Julia’s pockets. When she found nothing, she forced Julia to stand up and searched the chair on which Julia was sitting. Not finding anything yet again, she moved to the closet and started to search through it too.

"I didn’t take them."

Julia heard herself say The girl didn’t pay her any mind and angrily continued to search through the room. So, Julia just helplessly looked on, a pained expression on her face all the while.

"Did I leave them-"

Murmuring so to herself, the girl turned around on her heel and fast-walked out of the room. Julia saw a light turn on in the room, which she somehow knew was the bathroom. Soon after, the light turned on, and the girl walked past the opened door with a piece of cloth in her hand. Then she closed the door to, presumably, her room.

"Saying sorry wouldn’t kill you…"

Julia sighed and closed the door before sitting back on the chair.

Maybe if I were a girl, then... Julia thought as her eyes went to the manga laying on her desk, its name written in Japanese, and on the cover a cute girl.

"If I were born as a girl, she would like me more. If I were a girl, our family would be happier… How delusional were you."

The silver-haired girl reappeared before Julia, showing her a nasty grin. Julia blinks a few times as the scenery suddenly changes in front of her. as the previous richly decorated room returns.

"Thinking that your sister would like you more if you just looked different You were lying to yourself back then."

The girl closed her eyes and turned away from Julia.

"After all, if you were a girl back then. Then you would just annoy her with something else. Like your atrocious fashion sense."

Julia clenched her fists. Each word that girl said was like a knife stabbing her heart. But the girl didn’t seem like she planned to stop talking anytime soon. On the contrary, she seemed more interested in making sure that Julia knew exactly what was wrong with her.

"You are a weakling. Were it not for Arisa granting your wish, and were she not to grant you that title out of pity, what would you do, hmm?"

She turned back to Julia, not hiding how little she thought of her. Julia could only muster the will to glance at the girl. Seeing Julia only glare at her, made the girl grin even wider than Julia thought possible.

"After all, even that inn/restaurant you had going was only profitable because Nea was good at cooking and Mia was adorable as a waitress. Rena and Runa were in such demand that it would be a miracle not to make a profit."

A face of a vampire girl, then a fox-eared girl, and finally two succubi Appeared in Julia’s mind. Each of them was wearing a maid outfit, though the two succubi were wearing a sexier miniskirt version, and each of them was smiling at her.

These images were then overlapped by an image of vampire-looking maids also smiling at her and a silver-haired woman alongside a tall, dark-skinned man with horns on his head, both of them smiling at her lovingly.

"But you are good for nothing, and they knew it."

The image twisted, and the man with a woman looked at her coldly. the maids looking at her with straight-open hatred. It looked like one of the maids had yelled something at her. but she couldn’t hear any sound.

"Who are you? What gives you the right to-"

"To judge you?"

The girl smiled as Julia nodded. slowly walking to Julia, the smile not leaving her face.

"It’s simple, really."

The girl grabbed Julia’s chin and lifted her head to face her.

"I am you."
