"Wish we could back time~" Peter sang as he welded together the last part. He smiled as he gave the gears a last look. Connecting the cord to his device he began punching digits as he bobbed his head to the song playing in his headphones. "To the good ol' days~"
"Back when our mama sang us to sleep~" The bios loaded and after a few buffers the software was successfully installed and he grinned. He pressed the enter button and as his invention came to life.
"But now we're stressed out!"
Peter jumped out of his seat in excitement singing on top of his lungs just as Gwen along with May entered his basement lab.
"Ooooo~ But now we're stressed out!" Peter spun on his feet and grinned sheepishly as he saw the amused look May and Gwen were giving him.
Removing his earphones he walked towards them, he planted a small kiss on Gwen's cheek before he swept May off her feet making her yelp and kissing her deeply.
Gwen just sighed at her boyfriend's antics with a hidden smile as Peter pulled back leaving May in a slight daze.
"You seem to be in a good mood." Gwen said as Peter's smirked widened.
"Yeah... Not that I mind at all, but what's the deal?" May added.
"That's an understatement, My dear and dear May." Peter dramatically spread his arms making the ladies giggle a bit as he brought their attention to his latest creation.
On his table was a spider-themed robot. The eight-legged mechanical arachnid was a foot long concerning its leg span, quite big and chunky with black paint, red accents and red lenses for eyes. There was number '77' painted white on its belly.
The Spider was turning and looking around analysing the surroundings as its basic protocols were beginning to function. Besides him was the same mutated Red Back, that Peter engineered, who was looking at the giant metallic nightmare fuel with a lock of curiosity and wonder.
"This is Goliath-77, a spider mech, inspired from the giant Goliath Birdeater." Peter explained with a huge grin. "Now, this is just the first step in creating an army of spider minions."
"... Should I warn you just how much evil boss vibes you are giving out?" Gwen asked.
"Huh? Anyways." Peter intelligently ignored her. "Even though I have uploaded Eryl and Juno into the Nexus of the internet we have quickly come to realise that even with all the data we can access through the internet it's still impossible to keep an eye on everything."
"Are you just gonna ignore her question-"
"Even though we say the internet is everywhere, there are some places on earth that the internet cannot reach." Peter said as he turned towards the Goliath-77 and patted it. "That gave me the idea to create my own network, spin my web across the world, to keep an eye on everything as much as I can. To keep the chaos contained once it inevitably begins."
"So, this basically going to be your spy network?" May asked a bit unsure. "Well, this... Isn't quite subtle."
"Exactly, giant spider robots aren't exactly normal Peter." Gwen agreed with Peter.
"Well, I know that." Peter said as strapped a bracelet to his wrist and clicked on it. A holographic interface appeared as he paired it with Eryl's network. "Look, over here it shows how many units are online as of now. Going in further here, I'll choose this specific unit. Now, watch... Go."
Peter clicked on the interface and as he did the Goliath-77 began shifting. It's belly part shifted and opened as 20 smaller, tiny spider bots jumped out from the Goliath-77.
May watched in fascination while Gwen turned a bit green.
"These are Portia-24. These are the main MVPs. Not only are these little guys inconspicuous but they are equipped to the bone as well." Peter explained as Gwen and May looked at him with questioning looks. "Allow me to elaborate, as you know I get into a lot of fisticuffs-"
"Now that's an understatement." Gwen quipped dryly as May giggled..
"-and now so far luck has been on my side that nobody got hold of my blood samples." Peter said as Gwen and May gasped in realisation. "Yes, exactly. If anybody has managed to I can't imagine just how big of a disaster it may have resulted in. That's why I designed these guys."
"What do you mean? Are they gonna fight-"
"These guys aren't built for fighting. As of now, I haven't designed a fighting unit for cost efficiency and a multitude of different reasons. So, no these guys don't fight instead these guys will be doing damage control cleaning the mess I leave behind. Cleaning by blood, collecting any chunk of flesh I might lose, tail the guy who might get hold of the sample, infiltration, information gathered and other loads of reasons. The applications are numerous." Peter said. "The Goliath-77 is basically going to be the carrier for these tiny heroes."
"I see." Gwen nodded in understanding. "But is that it?"
"Not really, as of now this, is just the first time I managed to create a working unit. I have for run diagnosis, do error/correction, hardware, mainframe tweaking, software optimization." Peter breathed out. "Yeah... A lot of things to do actually."
"I see." Gwen nodded as she sat in his chair and looked at the data on display. "I could help."
"I was going to ask you actually. Me, and Eryl can use all the help we can get with ideas and optimizations." Peter sighed to himself as Gwen smiled. "We can use the big brains."
"Awww-" Gwen was flattered by his compliment but Peter had more to add.
"That's why I was thinking to invite Susan for a few days." Peter said rubbing his chin unaware of the sour look Gwen was giving him. "I can apply not to study leave with the final exams approaching and use that time to be as productive as I can."
"Hmph! I know just how 'productive' this going to turn out to be." Gwen pouted to herself as Peter looked at him with an odd lock of confusion before it finally hit him causing him to grin mischievously. "S-Stop with that stupid grin, s-stupid."
"Awww. Such a cutie." Peter fawned over the pouting Gwen as May watched their interaction with a fond look on her face.
"I can't help you both with all this... Stuff so I'll just support you with my food and love." May said as they both perked up hearing to her.
"Thanks a lot, May." Gwen beamed her mood changing as soon as she heard food. "Your food is so good!"
"Thanks, May. I definitely am going to need a lot of your love." Peter smiled suggestively as May blushed a bit before winking at his seductively.
"Ugh!" Gwen sighed a she turned back to the computer as May tugged on the collar of her top to give Peter a good view of her creamy cleavage before biting her lips and leaving the basement.

"Damn..." Peter smiled as he turned towards Gwen who was reading his research data.
"But you do know that even with this they are going too risky in infiltration because small or big, robot spiders are still robots which aren't exactly natural." Gwen argued as Peter nodded agreeing with her.
"I know." Peter said with a smile. "That's why I have a second, 'natural' plan for it."
"Huh, what do you mean?" Gwen asked a Peter turned towards the mutated Red Back. He extended his hand and the Spider happily jumped into the extended arm and climbed to his shoulder.
"This."
"Voras?" Gwen asked in confusion looking at the small spider.
(AN: Peter named this mutated Red Back 'Voras'. It literally means 'Spider' in Lithuanian. I thought it was a cool name.)
"Not exactly, but exactly." Peter said as Gwen grew even more confused. Peter smiled as he grabbed Gwen by the waist and picked her up before settling himself in the seat and setting her on his lap.
Gwen instinctively melted into his chest as Peter minimized the bios for Goliath-77 and opened a different file.
"This." Peter said gaining Gwen's attention. Her eyes widened in amazement with what she saw.
"Peter... This is-"
"During my training, I have managed to make a significant amount of progress." Peter said as he began explaining. "Although I haven't managed to defeat Spartan but... Anyways, what I learned is that my spider-sense is much more than a moody danger alarm. The effect of these certain abilities is unprecedented and the only limitations on it are just how much information I can process."
"So that means..."
"The more I train my brain, the more powerful it will become and the more branches it will create with the abilities." Peter confirmed. "It was during this training I came to know... That I can command and control Spiders."
Gwen watched the video on screen with fascination. The video was a montage of Peter giving multiple spider commands and instructing with various tasks like hunting, active camouflaging, problem solving and teamwork. The results were phenomenal.
"How... How does it work?" Gwen asked.
"That... That's something hard for me to describe." Peter said rubbing his chin. "It's like implanting a part of my subconscious, my intent, my orders into the conscious of these tiny guys. These guys have little to no resistance against my will and easily turn into my small soldiers."
"Wow... So, how do you... Understand what they are saying?"
"I receive information in a combination of images, frequency and feelings. If I concentrate enough I am even able to see what this tiny guy is saying and there are no limitations of distance or opacity. No matter how far a spider is, once I implant my consciousness into the spider I can see whatever he sees. These guys will be my eyes."
"I think I understand." Gwen said soaking in the information. "But that is going to be a hassle isn't it?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean to spread your eyes across all the world you would have to implant your conscience in every spider individually considering if you were able to broadcast your conscience you would have done it by now."
"Well, the latter is true. I am not able to broadcast my conscience, yet." Peter said shaking his head. "But that does not mean I have to go implanting it one by one into these guys."
"Huh?"
Peter smiled as he opened another file. Gwen read the contents of the files and her mind became numb as she progressed.
"These Spiders are going to be the first of their breed, I call them, Sages." Peter said looking at the picture of a newborn black spider with red and gold accents. "This is the first Sage, Arkus. The caretaker. He is born under the influence of my conscience and he knows exactly what to do. One hundred of these sages are set to be hatched by the time exams are over. Arkus is going to nurture these newborns and raise them with one mission in mind."
"...what is it?"
"Spreading my influence." Peter said. "Once they grow up I am going to spread this hundred sages across the world where they will create their underground nests called the 'lairs' and for there they will create their own following while spreading my influence onto them. This way-"
"They will pass your subconscious to their followers and their followers will do the same to other spiders and so on..." Gwen gasped a she looked at Peter in amazement. "It's like a chain reaction! Peter... You are a fucking genius!"
"Language." Peter chuckled as he hugged Gwen who hugged her amazing boyfriend.
Gwen was still reeling from the shock with just how brilliant his plan was. Even though Peter is not a hero she is just glad that he isn't the bad guy.
She shuddered just imagining just what would happen if Peter had been a bad guy.
"Soo... That's all of your plans?" Gwen asked pulled back for the hug as she looked into Peter's eyes to which Peter responded with a smile.
"Not even close. This is just the start."
Peter pulled Gwen into a deep kiss as they melted into each other arms while Voras jumped onto Goliath-77 to play with his new metallic spider buddies.
