He realized it the moment he heard the name.

It was the opera singer Yernia was into these days.

Cassian licked his lips and let out a bitter chuckle.

Blood had rushed to his head as his guts twisted into knots.

“Do you like him that much, Yernia?”

“Yes, he’s so handsome and sings well, too! The stage is awesome when he performs.”

Cassian knew right away that Yernia liked the singer and he assumed it was a harmless crush.

He thought she was merely contented with seeing him from afar, just longing for him.

He was foolish to jump into that conclusion.

Crush?

If it was a mere crush, why did she have to smile like that?

It was just two of them there.

Cassian gritted his teeth, examining Yernia’s side profile.

He changed his mind.

Instead of exiting the restaurant, he took the seat behind Yernia’s table.

As he pulled out a chair and sat down. “You’ve already made a reservation, my lord—-”

Cassian stared at him coldly, which made the staff purse his lips.

“No. Please make yourself at home, my lord.”

He couldn’t bear to ask the Marquis of Lecardo to step aside.

The staff disliked doing little favors for nobles, but he decided to let it slide.

The Marquis of Lecardo seemed upset, his mood dark.

Then, Yernia and the opera singer started talking.

What were they talking about?

The distance had prevented him from hearing the conversation.

Cassian’s eyes were cold as he stared at them.

He ran his fingers through his hair and rested his chin on his hand as he looked at the back of Yernia’s head.

The opera singer looked his way out of the blue, and he had the sudden urge to gouge his curious eyeballs out.

Halfway up from his seat, Cassian saw him whisper something to Yernia’s ear.

Cassian clutched the knife on the table calmly and turned it around.

“Oh? Cassian!”

After checking what’s behind her like what the opera singer had whispered, her eyes widened in shock.

Cassian watched them while wearing a crooked grin and he never stopped turning the knife around.

“Hello, Yernia.”

A twisted smile spread across his lips.

“Nice to see you here.”

Yernia waved to Cassian.

She always saw him at their mansion every day, so she was glad to meet him outside by chance.

Yet, why did he look so upset?

He seemed so scary that she wondered if something was making him angry.

“Do you know each other?”

Yernia waved a hand at Jenan’s question in dismissal and nodded.

“Yes, that’s my husband.”

“You have a husband?”

“I told you earlier, didn’t I? I couldn’t keep my promise because of an urgent matter.”

Yernia had a dinner appointment with Jenan before she got married.

His excitement of going to the restaurant for that meal appointment had died down following the shocking announcement that Yernia was Cassian’s guide.

So, that was why Yernia couldn’t keep her promise to Jenan due to the confusion of her own fate and the whirlwind of wedding preparations.

She completely forgot.

Even after getting married to Cassian, there was a niggling feeling at the back of her mind as if she had forgotten something… but she didn’t remember what it was.

Her appointment with Jenan crossed her mind not too long ago.

She initially wanted to see the opera once she could afford it herself and it made her remember her appointment with Jenan so naturally.

Yernia was sure he had been waiting for her!

She wouldn’t have known that if she hadn’t made a promise to him.

Since she already had a husband, Yernia felt strange for making this appointment but she did it anyway.

A few days ago, she asked Cassian to make a reservation for a restaurant and went out to meet Jenan.

“I can’t believe you didn’t come even after promising me, Yernia. Do you know how upset I was?”

After making that disappointing arrangement with Jenan in the past, she chose another suitable date for their next appointment.

“Ah, you said you had something urgent——”

Yernia had told Jenan that something urgent had come up, and she couldn’t come.

She didn’t even tell him about the marriage.

It was just a one-time dinner for fans and singers.

It wasn’t about getting acquainted with Jenan.

Yernia didn’t want to talk much about personal things, but she didn’t want to hide that.

“Yes, I just got married.”

Jenan’s eyes went round in surprise.

Smirking, he glanced at Yernia and Cassian back and forth.

Yernia didn’t see it, but Cassian definitely noticed it.

“You should have told me earlier.” Jenan whispered softly as he tucked the wayward strand of Yernia’s hair behind her ear.

Yernia glanced at Cassian before her gaze returned to Jenan.

She noticed Jenan seemed to be a little bored earlier.

Why was he being intimate all of a sudden?

It wasn’t like she hated it, but it did make her wonder.
