Tet and I headed towards the next town on the rattling shaking stagecoach.
“This is rougher than I thought. (—-<<Creation>> Cushion).”
I quickly sensed that my butt was hurting from the hard luggage carrier and uneven road, chanted my Creation Magic in a low voice and created two cushions inside the magic bag.
As my level rose, I continued to eat the Seed of Magic, so my max mana has exceeded 4000 and the extent of things I could create has expanded considerably.
However, the extent of things I can create has widened, but I’ve been only creating things I need when the situation calls for it, so I’ve been using it to create the Magic Crystals as a mana tank.
“Here you go, Tet.”
“Thank you!”
At first, I was a bit excited about our stagecoach journey as we left the town, but the speed we’re progressing at was slow and the landscape wasn’t changing.
“Tet, wanna eat dried fruit?”
“I’ll eat!”
“Tet, do you want to drink water?”
I had too much free time, so what we did consisted of eating food we bought in the town of Daryl and reading books to pass time.
Also, as we were bored and glanced at the other passengers, they were all quiet, looking not interested.
The jolting coach makes you nauseated, but if you gather mana to your head, not only does it improve your memory, but it also strengthens the semicircular canals so I didn’t have to worry about reading books while riding.
“I see…… There’s these sorta things in other magic.”
In the magic grimoire that I purchased, fundamentally, low-ranked magic consisted of fire, water, wind, and earth. Those spells and magic squares/circles were written, but there were various technical components in magic.
If we combine them, it’s expected that you’d be able to handle middle and high-ranked magic. I took out a paper for taking notes and a pen and left a note of my thoughts.
Once this is completed, I’ll finish off the enemies like an ogre without using Magic Crystals.
“Ojou-chan, it seems like you’re reading a magic grimoire. Are you a magic/magician apprentice?”
“Hm? Well, something like that.”
“Hmm, that’s amazing. What kind of magic can you use?”
“Stuff like magic to turn on a light, cleaning-type magic, stuff you’d use day-to-day, and a bit of attack magic.”
Like that, people inquired about magic as I read books while I replied to the other passengers that began to talk to me.
With a hood covering my face, at a glance I looked suspicious.
Whether they gave up guessing whether I was a boy or a girl, or whether they concluded I was a girl after seeing the dress under my robe, but a lot of them started talking to me with ‘Ojou-chan’.
Tet, who was free on the stagecoach, lied down on my thighs with her head, and I put the book on top of Tet’s head as I continue to read.
After a short time, the other passengers began to chat, and the stagecoach driver began to talk in order to liven up the place.
Time continued to pass as they didn’t call out to us as a result of two girls traveling being rare, but in order to preserve the coach’s atmosphere, I properly responded so it wasn’t that bad.
As he said that, the driver stopped the coach at the rest stop on the main road.
The stagecoaches and merchants use the established villages and rest stops at fixed intervals on the road. Along with protecting each other during the dangerous nighttime, it’s easier to manage for the nobles who manage the roads.
“Well then, Tet. Let’s put up the tent and prepare dinner.”
“Yes, nanodesu!” (TL: I’ve been getting rid of it, but Tet ends a lot of her sentences with ~nanodesu!)
As if we returned to our lifestyle before we arrived at the town of Daryl, we put up a tent skillfully.
The tent created with Creation Magic stands out, so I painted the exterior with wax and covered it with a plain-tinted cloth possessing a water repellent attribute. We prepared for bed and each person had their own meals.
The people who take stagecoaches usually have stuff like preserved foods and well water, but we made a meal with simple camping tools and ate.
“Hey, girls, that’s……”
“An instant soup. You just add water and mix it. Do you want some?”
“Ahh, you’re willing?”
I used a bottle to transfer over the instant soup, and people who were interested began to talk to us.
“Let’s see. How about three copper coins per bowl.”
The instant soup I created was for business use, so it wouldn’t even cost 20 yen per bowl.
However, in this other world, there wasn’t anything convenient like instant soup and it was rare, so it seems like there are people who’d even want it at three copper coins…… 300 yen in Japanese currency.
“I’ll have a bowl.”
“Bring over a bowl, I’ll pour it in.”
Due to the fact that there were many people that wanted to drink the warm soup at the stagecoach campground, many of them took out their money and asked for some.
A family of three small children bought a bowl and were going to split it between three people, so I secretly poured a somewhat larger portion.
“Haa, vegetable soup sure warms you up.”
“Ahh, it’s a bit unsatisfying, but it’s still delicious.”
“It’s just right to soften the hard bread when camping.”
While watching the reactions of the stagecoach passengers, I went to rest first and had Tet be on night watch.
It’s a journey with two girls. We might be attacked late at night when we fell asleep.
However, that worry ended up just being needless anxiety. We safely greeted the morning, and it became the second day of our coach journey.
On the second day, I read the books I bought over again a second time and got bored with it.
Even so, there were some wordings that I was concerned about inside the book, so while rereading those portions numerous times, the coach advanced smoothly.
Like I thought, there were people who were concerned about their hygiene on the second day of the coach journey. Some didn’t like the smell of stuff riding the coach together drifting in the air, so I used <<Clean>> magic on those who were interested.
Then, on the third day, we finally arrived at the new town: Otto.
