Chapter 3: 3. Collecting Supplies

The fish was at least four or five pounds, but it was still flopping around and rocking the boat.

"Dismantle! Dismantle it now! I will almost be dismantled by it!" Raine said hastily, not bothering to ask too many questions.

In an instant, the living and breathing fish had turned into a full portion of fish skin, a portion of fish meat, a pile of fish guts, and a neat fish bone. The whole boat had finally smoothed out.

Two days later, White was very helpful. He catch a total of thirty fish, Raine made three pieces of fish meat into dried and tied them to the boat, and threw away all the other supplies, except for a few pieces of fish meat that White ate.

The main thing was the skins. Raine kept 4 skins and made 9 ropes for the rest.

He used six to re-enforced the front, middle, and back of the raft, leaving three at the end.

Two of these he tied to the middle of the boat, one to hold the fish on a string, and one for White to bite into in case of rapids.

The last strip is reserved for the water purification unit.

Having been re-enforced, his body is now much more solid than before. With almost no gaps between the three bamboo poles, and much stronger so that they no longer rub and sway against each other.

With the reinforced hull, Raine is now less afraid of the usual small winds and waves.

However, so far Raine had not come across any wood. And White had been drinking seawater for two days in a row, so he was more prone to dehydration than usual.

Raine had spent two days with White and the little fellow had been very obedient, going down to the sea to catch fish during the day and then lying down exhausted on the raft at night to sleep. It felt as if he had fallen asleep in his arms, now watching White sitting there all listless and groggy, Raine was not feeling well either.

"White, just hang on a little longer, I'll get the wood!" Raine said anxiously.

Both in terms of White's usefulness and Raine's feelings for White right now, he couldn't let White hang up!

"Damn it, where are we going to find wood? Do you think wood grows out of the water! Will it float to me? Where am I going to get wood on a raft?"

[Ding, scattered timber found 37 degrees northeast, 477m ahead]. The system alert sounded in Raine's head.
