Benson couldn't help but be worried. Seeing Athasia riding the bicycle for the first time. He brushed his face. His Young Miss never rode a bicycle because she's scared that she would fall.
He took a step and stretched his arms. "Young Miss, the road was dangerous. What if you accidenta—" before he could speak, Athasia cut him off.
"I don't want to grab everyone's attention by riding my father's expensive car. Tell Mr. Li to rest, I will take care of myself," she said, putting her headphones on her ears.
She flipped the stand and put her feet on the pedals, twirling it 360 with the hem of her blue coat fluttering. "Bye bye!"
Benson slumped down with his dismay expression. He felt the guilt while asking himself if where did he go wrong. He stayed by the Young Miss' side for her whole life and seeing her like this was a little shock for him.
The maid beside him blinked. She patted the butler's head. "It's okay, Mr. Benson. The Young Miss is not a kid anymore.." she commented.
Athasia rode the bicycle successfully. She stopped in front of the gate and let the guards inspect her. She saw the two sweepers she met the other day beside the cafeteria. She remembered them gossipping about her. Athasia winked and smiled at them while pulling her bicycle with her.
They immediately averted their gazes and acted like they didn't see someone. 'Involving with her is scary'
Suddenly, all of the students, especially the girls, dashed forward to where Athasia was walking. She was startled that they almost bumped her shoulders. All of them went to the gate, very excited.
"Kyaaaaaaa~"
"He's going to school today! So lucky to see him!!"
They screamed with their hearts out, showing in their eyes. As all of them gathered at the front gate, when a black car stopped.
The door opened up, and it spat a handsome young man wearing a white polo above his blue coat.
Unlike other students, his was darker blue. Paired with his hair that turns purple under the sunlight. Two guards stepped out and walked behind him, making sure that none of the students would touch him.
Maximilian ignored the students, shouting his name. If he had a type, he preferred the fierce ones. Thinking about it, his lips curved into a slight smirk.
He suddenly remembered someone like that.
Athasia watched the extravagant entrance of the school prince. She couldn't help but twitched her lips while imitating the crazy female students. "Kyaaa, he's here… the man of my dreams…" she rolled her eyes.
"Man of my dreams, my ass…" she snorted.
However, when she turned right, she saw Callie looking at her, as if she's observing Athasia's twitching face.
She immediately fixed her expression.
Athasia cleared her throat. "Hey Callie! You're early.." she wrapped her hands around the girl's arms.
Callie lowered her head and fidgeted with her fingers. "I've been w-w-waiting f-for you…"
"Is that so?" Athasia leaned closer to her. "Were you waiting too long? I rode my bicycle today." Her eyes pointed towards the bicycle section near them. Hers was chained already.
Callie swayed her hands in the air. "Not really, it's okay.." then her eyes went to the students hovering at the front gate, following the pace of the young, handsome man they're admiring.
Athasia paused and noticed her. "What's wrong?" she can already feel something. "Do you like him too?" she asked with a disgusted face.
"Mmm.." Callie shook her head. "I was just wondering. He's so p-popular yet he didn't give a care to t-the girls f-following him around." She said. "I mean, he's not a-always at school. Did he h-have any f-friends?"
Athasia paused. It's true that Maximilian rarely comes to school. He's used by homeschooling. Even at a young age, his parents already introduced him to the world of business. As far as littleyoonie can recall, Athasia was the only friend Maximilian had.
"You guys were childhood friends, right?" Callie asked, looking straight at her.
The Young Miss nodded her head. "I can't deny that." She shrugged her shoulders. "Who cares? We're not that close now." she walked forward, trailing the hallways.
Callie grasped her bag and caught her friend's pace. "Did y-you two f-fight?" she asked, getting intrigued.
She wanted to know more about Athasia. They are friends now, so she would like to know her more. She kept on circling Athasia, waiting for an answer.
"It's not really a fight.." Athasia averted her gaze. She's not the real female lead, so it's a bit off if she told Callie that she's avoiding him on purpose.
The girl leaned closer to her. "Don't tell me, he's bullying you too." Callie halted and her eyes turned pitiful. She suddenly felt guilty about it. She pushed Athasia to the max. "I'm s-sorry, I s-shouldn't ask y-you." She mumbled.
Athasia halted too and looked back. "Why are you apologizing? It's not like that." she smiled at Callie. "I have another reason…"
Callie got her hope back. She lightened up once more and walked beside the Young Miss. "I will keep it a secret if you tell me!"
After all, keeping each other's secret was a strong foundation of friendship.
A cunning grin stretches Athasia's cheeks. She pulled Callie closer. "It's because…." her lips moved closer to the girl's ears. "It's because he has a short…" the rest was a whisper.
Callie got stunned, her face blushed as she covered her lips. Couldn't believe what she heard.
Meanwhile, Max suddenly felt chills run down his spine. His nose got itchy, and it made him sneeze.
"Young Master! Are you okay?" One of his guards handed him sterilized wipes.
Maximilian wiped his nose. The cold morning air blew into him, fluttering the sides of his hair. "I felt like someone just gossip about me.." he uttered.
The guards got shocked. "Do you want us to look for them, Young Master?!" they asked, so eager to serve their Master like dogs.
Max took his bag from them. "It's okay, fetch me after school..." then he walked away.
