Chapter 15: 15: The Tavern

As he gets closer to the tavern, the snake beast, Xiaoqing, wiggles her body and almost breaks out of his [Spiritual Domain] due to her hunger since she had no food for a while.

"Hey! Calm down! I know that you are hungry, but hold on a bit! I will feed you once I finish with mine!" He spoke to the snake beast through his telepathy.

The sudden compulsion on his face made Hui Ying intrigued. "Are you okay master?"

"Y-yeah… I'm okay. Let's get in!" Arthur replied awkwardly.

"Golden Goose?" Arthur scoffed upon reading the tavern's name on the door that's remind him of a tell tale story. "What a silly name."

As they stepped in, the little door bell chimed in rythm and made the other guests turned their heads and glanced at the two.

There were at least twenty well-built and bulky mens inside, wearing the same black leather chest armor as well as a distinct tattoo on their sleeve.

Although their gazes were so fierce and intimidating, Arthur wasn't frightened in the slightest. In fact, he was so excited since he found a suitable preys to feed his beast familiar.

"A band of bandits, huh? What coincidence, I can feed Xiaoqing plenty of food and level up my skills!" he mumbled to himself in excitement.

"Master, should we change place? It's pretty crowded in here."

"Nah… it's okay! We are here to have our dinner after all."

A moment later, a middle-aged man appeared from the kitchen and look at the two sharply. He was the owner of that tavern.

"You younglings just gon' stands there or what? If you ain't gonna order something you better get out, I'm super busy right now!"

"Ah! Pardon our intrusion, owner!  But we would like to order your dish. The aroma lingered throughout the street and led us to here. If you would be so kind to make them for us, that is."

"Alright… My meat stew is almost done anyway. So, What's for the drink?"

"A jug of mead and…"

"Wine, please." Hui Ying added.

Without any further ado, the owner of the tavern went back to the kitchen while saying; "You two can sit by the counter. I'll be back in a minute with your order."

As the two waiting for their foods, the bandits started to whisper to each other and scheming something behind their back.

Hui Ying sighed, she knew what ougth to happen next. "This is why I suggest you to change place, Master. What is your plan, really?"

"I need some food to warm my body and my familiar need some too."

The fox demoness was puzzled by his words, she did felt some kind of anomaly with Arthur's Qi since the first time they met, but she couldn't tell why.

"A familiar? You mean myself?"

"Of course no… The other one, you'll meet her shortly after I finish my meal."

Shortly after, the tavern owner appeared from the kitchen, bringing two hearty portions of meat stews and the drinks. “Here’s yer order younglings. Twenty silver coins for two.”

Arthur’s mouth was salivating once his meal was brought to him.Thus, he deliberately took out a gold coin to attract the bandits’ attention towards him. “Here’s the money, keep the change.”

The silver haired young man began to dig his spoon onto the rich, hearty broth of the stew and shoved a mouthful of meat and a piece of bread.

“Just as I expected, the food is bussing!”

The tavern owner frowned as he realized that Arthur was up to something. He quietly whispered to him.

“I don’t care whether you just boasting yer nanny’s gold or trying to be a saint. But, those guys are the most savage bandits in this area. I wouldn't flash my cheese in front of them if I were you!”

“Don't fret about it. This is my sincere gratitude for providing me with this delicacy.” Arthur replied while munching his meal.

The owner let out a long sigh, knowing that the fight was inevitable a few minutes later.

Halfway through his meal, Arthur’s plan to lure the bandits starts to take its effect.

Two stout, burly men approached the counter and stood stall behind them and start to causing a scene.

Especially with Hui Ying, they didn’t even bother hiding their lecherous intent towards her.

One of those bandits rested his arm on the counter as he spoke to Arthur with such an audacious tone. "Hey… kid, you seem like a very generous person. How about lend me some, eh? And, also…can you lend me this harlot of yours to help me. There is something itchy between my legs that needs a good scratching, Hahaha!"

The other guy with a mohawk haircut started to fondle Hui Ying's body "Hey, how about it, missy? Do you fancy having a night with us? We can satisfy you all night long!"

"Hahaha!"

The other bandits boasted in laughter, they raised their jugs high above their heads.

Despite all of their obnoxious doings, Hui Ying remained very calm.

"If you fancy a knife between your balls, that is." She said, her sharp and deadly gaze emitted a glint of crimson light and diamond-shaped pupil. Her killing intent was so dreadful and horrifying. Even Arthur himself got a goosebump.

"Y-you!" the guy who harassed her stumbled backward from her killing intent alone.

Arthur patted her head before she turned herself into her demoness form.

"That's enough Ying-er. Let me do the talking."

"Yes, Master."

Arthur rose from his seat as he put another five gold coins on the counter. "This is compensation for the things that are about to happen to this place, owner."

"Now… where are we at again? Ah, right! Lending you some money? Sorry I can not do that. Also… this lady is not someone that you can fuck with, you filthy human trash!"

"I, Tiger Shen! Being humiliated by a whore and rich boy like him?! This is unforgivable!"

"Hey! What are you doing?! Kill this kid and take his whore!"

Witnessing their ring leader being humiliated by a mere young cultivator made the bandits enraged.

Every one of them unsheathes their swords and onslaught him from every direction.

"Arise, Xiaoqing. It's dinner time!"
