“Little brother, have you encountered these giant seabed creatures before?” The old man smiled and spoke up, having noticed Chu Xian’s reaction.
“I have seen the Dunkleosteus.” Chu Xian replied, lifting his head and nodding.
“Oh? The Dunkleosteus?” Dr. Gu said with some interest. “The Dunkleosteus is a very fierce species of fish, and they should only live in the deep ocean. Are there some in the Yellow Sea?”
“When I saw them they were still small sized fish.” Chu Xian smiled and replied.
“Oh?” Even the old man’s curiosity was piqued now, and he tentatively asked. “Did you tame them?”
Chu Xian nodded.
“How many?” The old man asked again.
“Ten, but it’s been some time since I’ve seen them, and I don’t know if they are all still alive.”
“How intelligent are they?” Dr. Gu asked curiously.
“About the same as dolphins. They could understand some gestures, and maybe it’s because I raised them, but they seem to understand my words somewhat. They’re very smart.” Chu Xian lied.
The IQ of dolphins was quite high, and some people said that their intelligence was above that of humans. They were considered the most intelligent creatures living in the seas. Dr. Owens and three scientists of the Pacific Marine Research Foundation had reportedly spent three years training a pair of dolphins and had managed to teach them 700 English words.
These scientists posited that dolphins possessed their own language, and this was all on top of the anecdotal evidence of dolphin intelligence and compassion. There are many stories of dolphins saving drowning people and pushing them to shore, and when they encountered people attacked by sharks, they would also intervene and fend off the attacking beasts.
In the summer of 1959, the Rio Atello had an accident in the Caribbean Sea and many of the passengers struggled and drowned in the heavy waves of the waters, and to make matters worse, a large group of sharks had approached and were about to attack, when at that moment, like heavenly soldiers sent from on high, a group of dolphins appeared and fought off the sharks, chasing away these watery demons and saving many of the passengers.
With their intelligence and kindness, they were considered friends to humanity.
The Dunkleosteus that Chu Xian had reformed might have somewhat lower intelligence compared to a dolphin, but the difference would not be very pronounced.
Dr. Gu nodded, curiousity plain on his face. “Is it possible for me to see them?”
Chu Xian looked at the gazes of these men and nodded, smiling. “Of course. I’ll need to return to the Yellow Sea to find them though. I am not sure where they have run off to.”
“No wonder you’ve been able to develop this quickly, you’ve had this sort of helper in the seas.” Hong Chenghai interjected a comment of surprised realization.
“En, they have helped quite a bit, but I did not dare to speak of them before, after all this situation is very strange.” Chu Xian chuckled.
“Hehe, but not too strange. Brother Chu Xian, when you have the opportunity, take us out to see these creatures.” Fa Daiyue said, a smile on his face.
“Not a problem. I rely on them to find some of the material for the aquariums and to find schools of fish. If you all are interested, we will go see them.” Chu Xian had no reason to refuse their interest.
Since he had already spoken up, he had no fear in showing them the fish. This would also help prevent any accidental discovery in the future and the subsequent scene. This was a good opportunity to explain the presence of these prehistoric fish and protect them, and once that was complete then he could really begin the development of his fish farm.
“Haha, good. I am also very interested in this sort of thing. When you have the time, show us around. When all of us old men are around you will feel restrained. Daiyue can accompany you.” The old man smiled. “In the future, little brother if you have any trouble, you can turn to Dai Yue. We will take our leave first.”
“Leader, please take care.” Hong Chenghai shot upright and respectfully bid farewell.
The old man waved his hand, and the trio exited the room.
“Haha, Uncle Shi and the others are gone. We can take a look around. Even I feel nervous around him.” After the three men left, Fa Daiyue turned to the other two and smiled.
“What exactly does Grandpa Shi do?” Chu Xian asked them curiously.
“Xiao Xian, you need to keep up with the news. Leader Shi is one of three admirals in our navy.” Hong Chenghai put his hand on Chu Xian’s shoulder. “This gentleman is Rear Admiral Fa.”
“Admiral?” Chu Xian was amazed, and then turned to look at Fa Daiyue. “And you as well, Big Brother Fa. A Rear Admiral at such a young age! Incredible!”
“Haha, really, it’s not as great as you might think. Soldier’s have a lot of responsibility, and we don’t have the freedom of normal citizens. The truth is, with all the burdens we have to carry, it’s more comfortable to just be a regular person.” Fa Daiyue shook his head.
Chu Xian nodded. For many soldiers, the honor and glory only masked their lack of freedom, and for a sailor in the navy, every year they spent time on warships out at sea, and often could not even return home for Chinese New Year. They were nothing like normal citizens who could travel anytime they wanted to and do anything they decided.
“Let’s go. I’ll take you guys to a place I know.” Fa Daiyue laughed, and led them to the entertainment and leisure sector of the compound.
“How beautiful. Are these fish you caught from the sea?”

Fa Daiyue had led them to a small cave filled with colors. The lights inside were natural lights emitted from glowing lifeforms, and glass encased seawater in the surroundings, containing all kinds of beautiful fish.
“This is a place we built for our officers and soldiers to relax in, and we also often hold weddings here in this small seabed world. These fish were all caught by our people. This place was dug during the war, and we renovated it afterwards and turned it into this.”
Fa Daiyue brought them inside, and the cave widened as they walked. Very quickly they arrived at a hall inside where many officers were eating, drinking tea, and chatting.
“Our navy officers can bring their girlfriends here to relax, and everytime there is time off, a lot of people come here.” Fa Daiyue led them to a table.
Chu Xian and Hong Chenghai looked around curiously. The place was basically a theme relaxing area, and dreamy sea creatures filled the surroundings. There was good alcohol, good food, and some relaxing devices. Soft music filled the area and finished the atmosphere.
“What do you think? Not bad, right? What do you guys want to drink?” Fa Daiyue chuckled and asked them.
“I’ll just have any beer that you have.” Chu Xian smiled as he looked around. “Maybe one day I will build a theme styled place like this.
“Oh? I’m sure you’ll be able to. The Dunkleosteuses will help you catch the fish more easily. It’ll probably be quite simple for you to make something like this.” Fa Daiyue nodded.
“That’s right. I also do some work in designer aquariums, and there are many similarities in theme between that work and this kind of place.” Chu Xian smiled and replied.
“En. Sounds good, but building this kind of place will be quite expensive.” Fa Daiyue smiled.
“En.” Chu Xian nodded. “It’s just a thought right now, I don’t know when I’ll actually be able to put it into action.”
“That’s right. Xiao Xian, when will you open your store in Jinghai City?” Hong Chenghai asked.
“The day after tomorrow. All of the preparations are complete.” Chu Xian nodded and replied.
“The day after tomorrow? The leaders have given me a couple of days off. I’ll wait here for you to open you store before going back then.” Hong Chenghai smiled and replied.
“Oh? You’re opening a store? Then should we all go check it out?” Fa Daiyue smiled as well.
“Of course, you are all welcome. When the time comes I’ll gift you each a sea tank. Beauty guaranteed.” Chu Xian smiled.
After a couple of hours, Chu Xian brought them over to his store.
“Your store is huge!” When they arrived at the entrance of the store, Fa Daiyue was surprised.
“This will be the flagship store, so it’s on the bigger side. Come, let’s go inside. Everything is already in place.” Chu Xian gestured in welcome.
“Tsk. It really is gorgeous.”
Once they were inside, it was as if they had entered a dream. All the decorations in the store were underwater themed, and all kinds of aquariums were placed around the store.
A four meter long, two meter tall tank sat in the center of the store. Inside were sculpted stones and decorative corals spelling out, “Paradise Welcomes You.” It was very beautiful.
“It really is mangificent. Xiao Xian, you’ve really brought your store to another level compared to what you started with in Hai Qing. It’s increidble.” Hong Chenghai looked around in astonishment.
“I never imagined that you could make such a beautiful scene with these underwater creatures.” Fai Daiyue stared at the tank in amazement.
“Brother Fa, you might not know, but Xiao Xian’s aquarium store in Hai Qing City is incredibly popular. They topped a million rmb a day for a few days running.” Hong Chenghai chuckled and replied.
“I believe it. Such beautiful aquariums even tempt me, haha!” Fa Daiyue laughed.
“If Big Brother Fa likes it, you can take one home.” Chu Xian smiled and replied.
“Haha, when you open, I’ll bring my wife over to look around. But I can’t be owing you any more face.” Fa Daiyue laughed. “We’ll help your sales.”
“It’s just a single tank. If I asked for your money, I would be embarrassed in the future when I come to you for help, Brother Fa.” Chu Xian joked.
“Haha. I still need to spend my whole life to repay my life debt, brother Chu Xian. If you are free these next few days, I’ll show you around one of our warships, and you can take us to go see your Dunkleosteus on the way.” Fa Daiyue smiled and suggeted.
“It’ll have to wait for next month, I won’t have much time this month.” Chu Xian thought for a moment and replied.
“Alright. I’m very interested in these pets of yours. I remember bumping into a large creature in the sea a year ago, but it moved too fast and I couldn’t make it out.”
Fa Daiyue stayed a little while longer before leaving. When he was gone, Hong Chenghai patted Chu Xian’s shoulder. “Xiao Xian, with these stable mountains to rely on, your future development will be easy.”
“It was good luck.” Chu Xian chuckled. “Big Brother Hong, you want to go out for drinks?”
“Haha, of course. Today is a good day. We should go out and party.” Hong Chenghai replied happily.
“Of course, but Brother Hong, you won’t be able to drink as much as me.”
