「Ehh, why?! Actually, why did I assume we had flour? Is it because there’s bread in the vending machine? But if they’re sold in the vending machine, somebody still has to make them, right… Wait, just because somebody makes the bread for the vending machine doesn’t mean they’ll leave bags of flour here!」
Ahh!!
Actually, didn’t I have the same thought before, that there weren’t any flour? Geez, what’s wrong with me!
Since I assumed we had flour here, I didn’t write it down on the to-buy list I gave to Rofas-san!
Uwah, this is a failure. Actually, well, technically we have rice and bread, so not having any flour isn’t such a big deal, it’s just… What are we going to make for dinner tonight…
We can’t… make gyoza.
I staggered out the storage and went back to the kitchen.
「Ah, Yuuri-neechan, is this okay?」
Kurtz-kun was grinning.
「Kirika’s done too.」
Kirika-chan looked like she was having fun too.
It’s a little too late to tell them that we can’t make gyoza now.
Ground meat… Okay, I know.
「I’m sorry, we don’t have enough ingredients, so let’s make a dish that’s similar to gyoza and hamburg steaks instead.」
I said apologetically, and Kirika-chan and Kurtz-kun both smiled back at me and replied.
「If it’s similar to them, it’s like we can enjoy both!」
「Uwah, that’s great! 」
No, but umm… I see, you can think of it like that!
Let’s turn the bread into breadcrumbs. Then, mix together the chives, cabbage, ground meat, soy sauce, cooking sake, and breadcrumbs.
The three of us mixed them all together.
There was a bit more filling now. I made patties that were smaller than a hamburg steak and baked them in the oven.
Then, we made a lettuce kakuni salad using the leftovers from this morning, and rice.
The combination didn’t really make a balanced meal.
「The patties came out nicely. You can dip them into the vinegar soy sauce, but if you don’t like sour things, you can eat them as they are as well. Okay, let’s eat. Itadakimasu.」
「Status open.」
Ah, that’s right. Instead of saying itadakimasu, we should be checking our status. We have to record the effects.
Nom nom.
We each ate the gyoza-hamburg steak we formed ourselves. I got +10 in buff values, while Kurtz-kun got +1 and Kirika-chan got +2. So, there was no change. Now that we checked, we took our time to enjoy the food.
「This is yummy. It’s hard to tell that this was made from the same boar used for kakuni. Kirika likes kakuni, but Kirika likes this one too.」
「Tasty! I would’ve never thought I’d want to eat vegetables like this. This wouldn’t taste good without the chives and cabbage right? Vegetables are great.」
We finished all of the food, and cleaned up together. Once we finished our after-dinner duties, we returned to our own rooms.
I got into bed and started thinking about tomorrow.
Since we don’t have a fridge, we can’t make a large amount of food to keep.
Right now, we have dried meat, smoked meat, dried kakuni, and silverberry jam in stock.
The boar meat we used for dinner was the last of our fresh meat. What should we make tomorrow?
Rofas-san said he’ll be dropping by a week later. I asked him for other things besides salt, so I wonder how much he can bring back for us? I have to ask him to buy some flour next time too. Can I be specific and ask for strong flour and weak flour?
What did Rofas-san say before he left, judgment magic? Is it okay to use that?
Now that I think about, I found out that MP potions are actually cola, but what about losing MP potions?
Does Kurtz-kun know anything about them?
I wonder what Rofas-san and Bryce-kun are doing now…
「Yuuri-san, are you awake?」
Eh?
Is it just me, or did I just hear Bryce-kun’s voice coming from the door?
Am I hearing things?
*knock knock*
Someone pounded the door.
「Yuuri, it’s an emergency! Sorry, I’m coming in.」
I heard Rofas-san’s voice too.
Ehh? W-what’s happening?
「Rofas-san, you may be the owner of the hut, but you should not enter a lady’s room without permission!」
「Even you understand that we have no time to waste!」
No time? Both Rofas-san and Bryce-kun sounded desperate.
I quickly got out of bed, put on my shoes, and opened the door.
「Oh good, you’re awake.」
「What’s wrong? The two of you went to town, I thought… Did you forget…」
I was about to ask if they forgot something, but I stopped.
It didn’t feel like things were that simple.
They looked tense, like they were about to head off to battle.
