Chapter 26: Chapter 23 – Job change

Athena told me what happened after I passed out from overusing my mana, Azure ended up devouring the dragon and evolved into a ‘Greater Dark Slime’. Athena had found a different exit route and carried me and the Adamantite ore that the dragon ended up breaking off from the walls with her.

When she arrived at the town, she went immediately to Willows shop and put me to bed and by the time I woke Azure had used the skill ‘Mimicry: Human’.

“I’m sorry that you had to carry me all the way over here.”, I apologized to Athena as she shook her head and said. “It’s no problem Master, you were incredibly light almost like a feather.”, Athena said.

‘Maybe it is because I’m a ghost that I don’t exactly have weight or am I really that light?”, I thought as we went to Willows office to start working on making the magic swords.

“Took ya long enough, I thought yer were gone fer good.”, Willow said as we found him working on the magic sword already. “Yeah, I’m sorry for not being able to help you this morning.”, I apologized again.

It was noon already, you could say that the fact that I woke up sooner than expected, would mean that I am lucky.

“Nah, I should be thankin’ you for helpin’ good ol’ me. So, uhm…. thank you.”, Willow said a little embarrassed for thanking somebody. “No problem, I chose to help.”, I said.

From helping him forge I would increase the level of my ‘Blacksmithing’ Skill, thus it’s a total win-win situation. “Aight’ lets start—“, Willow was about to say something but I interrupted and said. “Before we start. I need to change jobs quick.”, I said, and Willow nodded in agreement, he knew what changing jobs meant.

After the fight with the dragon I evolved into a ‘Black Ghost’, it’s probably a race that doesn’t exist, since it can only be achieved by someone who has ‘Dark Attribute Magic’, just like the one before.

“Willow could you teach Athena how to make a magic sword so that she can help us while I am at the guild.”, I told Willow as I was about to leave. “Yeah, I’ll do it. As long as the girl doesn’t mind, and also who’s that chick over there?”, Willow asked as he pointed at Azure who was covered by a blanket.

“She’s—“, I was about to make an excuse but Azure jumped in again and said. “It’s me Azure!”, she said as cheerfully as possible. Willow was over there impressed only a little though.

“You don’t think it’s weird?”, I asked him since it’s not an everyday occurrence that a monster turns into a human, it is mostly a typical fantasy world cliché though. “Nah, not really. I was more surprised by how quickly she evolved though.”, Willow answered.

“Now, come on you have to change yer job don’t ya?”, Willow said as if telling me to go leave and change my job.

 

 

 

“Master where are we going?”, Azure asked as the gaze of the people on the street were aiming at her. “We’re first, going to a clothes store to get you clothes.”, I said as I looked at her body, she was covered by a white robe all over her body. Her beautiful curves gave you the thought that she was a priestess.

“But whyyyy?”, she groaned like a child. She probably is since I do not even know when she was born as a slime. “Look you have two options. One, you stay in your slime form or two, you’ll have to wear clothes.”, I told her like a parent to a child.

“Noooo, I want to stay in this form so that I can feel masters whole body.”, she said as she hugged me and her chest touched my back and oh-ho-ho I wasn’t feeling well.

I pushed her off and said. “Okay, if you want to stay in this form you can, but you have to wear proper clothes.”, I told her, and she nodded like a child.

The clothes I was going to get her were going to be normal ones, I would later make her magic clothes, so that she can transform to a slime and still have her clothes.

I arrived at the clothes shop and asked them to give Azure normal clothes, the employees measured Azure and gave her fitting clothes. She looked like a normal girl… in medieval terms.

“Master these clothes are tight.”, Azure complained as she walked with her new clothes. “Don’t worry, just wear that for now.”, I said not giving it much thought.

I arrived at the guild and were greeted with the same scene as it would always be in a guild. The adventurers were telling about their adventures and the receptionists were once again attending adventurers.

I felt some gazes from the adventurers, I was a little used to it. However, now most of them were looking at Azure, if they knew what she actually was they would run away.

“Welcome to the guild, what is your business here today, sir?”, the same receptionist that attends me said with her business-like usual smile. “I’m here to use the job changing room.”, I kept it short and went straight to the point.

“Yes, it is right over there.”, she said pointing at the job changing room that I used last time. I thanked the receptionist and went to the job changing room. “Azure could you please wait here?”, I told her.

Azure nodded as if she understood me and then I went into the room. It was the same one from before, there was no difference, the air, the walls, and the crystal that would allow me to change jobs.

I touched the crystal ball and it showed me the same game like status pad.

There were some new jobs, however I was already set on what job I would get. Since I decided to help Willow, I would have to choose a creation-oriented job.

This time I expected most of these skills, I chose this job to increase my spirit form and mainly the ‘Blacksmith’ Skill.

I turned around to leave the room as I suddenly heard a scream in the distance. “Master!!!”, I heard Azure shouting from the other side of the door. I forcibly opened the door and found a couple of adventurers grabbing Azure arm.

Since she was in her human form, most people thought she was a girl and not a monster. “C’mon girl why don’t you come with us?”, one of the adventurers said increasing their grip on Azure.

“Yeah, why don’t you leave that noob who’s with you. We would give you a way better time than that wimp.”, one said with lust in his eyes, Azure was scared or rather a little scared since she’s a monster. “Wait? That was a boy, I thought it was a girl for sure.”, another said who thought I was a girl.

There were three adventurers cornering her, making sure nobody would see. I was starting to get irritated by these people, none of them were goddamn decent people.

“Maste—“, Azure was about to shout my name when a hand came from between the adventurers, I grabbed Azure and held her close to me as if I was keeping her like a jewel. “Hey, hands off! She belongs to me!”, I shouted in front of the adventurers.

The adventurers in the guild including the receptionists moved their gazes to the source of the shout, it was loud since I used the skill ‘Scream’. The adventurers who were trying to flirt with Azure started to get nervous and left without saying a word.

At that moment I realized what I just said. ‘Why on the gods green earth did I say that!? ‘She belongs to me!’, what the hell! What am I? Some type of playboy?!’, I thought as I just stood there embarrassed for what I just said. Technically I was not wrong, since I registered Azure as my familiar at the guild and that would mean that she belongs to me.

I felt something move and I looked at Azure whose cheeks were beet red from embarrassment. Her height was slightly taller than Athenas, but I was looking directly at her azure eyes who were feverishly looking at me. “Uhm, Master… thank you.”, she whispered to me trying to make sure nobody heard, I realized that I was holding Azure close to my body, so I stopped holding her. However, she held me closer to her and the soft feeling came back!

“Uhm… sir if you’re going to flirt, would you please do it somewhere else?”, the receptionist warned me as I looked around to see that all adventurers were looking at us as if we were in a show.

“…. Yes…”, I said quietly since I couldn’t bear the embarrassment of all the gazes.
