Chapter 1: Prologue

The sound of footsteps echoed through a dark alley where there was no sliver of light.

 

A man, hidden in the darkness, hurriedly turned around. A blonde girl stood there emitting light.

 

“I finally found you.”

 

With her blue eyes shining, the girl whose name was Rachel, smiled brightly. Even though her all-white robe was messy and stained with mud, she seemed really happy.

 

She had been looking for that black mage. The man who started a war and dyed this land with blood to summon the Devil.

 

She spent a long time getting here.

 

“You’re the one who has been getting in my way all this time!”

 

The black mage shouted in an angry voice. Rachel thought that she ought to be the one saying that.

 

But she didn’t want to speak in front of the enemy any longer.

 

While Rachel remained silent, the black mage growled furiously.

 

“How the hell did you figure out all my plans? If not for you, I could have already become the ruler of this world! Keuk.“

 

“You sure talk a lot.”

 

Then a large man came out from behind her and kicked the black mage.

 

“Deino, he was still talking to your sister, you know?”

“You said that if I catch him, you will give me a title. I just want to be done with it and go home.”

A silver-haired man said after the large, reddish-haired man who kicked the black mage.

However, white bones erupted from the floor and blocked his sword.

 

“The time has come! Kakia, Aceves, Abyssos, Duro.”

 

The black mage uttered those words and began to cast a spell.

 

Although he could not collect enough sacrifices to summon the Devil, the blood he had spilled so far was considerable. It was a sufficient amount of sacrifice for a black mage to perform his spell.

 

“We have to stop him!”

 

At Rachel’s urgent cry, the two men ran towards the black mage.

 

However, evil energy swirled and covered the sky.
