Chapter 3

The carriage door opened and the guests got off. However, it was not Priest Peace who got down first, but a boy with short silver hair.

Rachel knew the neat-looking boy wearing a white uniform.

‘Why are you here?’

He was Enoch, an aide who was treated as a male protagonist in 『Hello, Dad』. At one point, he was someone Rachel was looking for. She had not found him so far, and yet he appeared in this unexpected situation.

A breeze blew and shook his silver hair. The boy’s beauty was so great that it looked like a halo was shining from behind him.

Rachel saw the illusion of flowers fluttering around him. She slapped herself on the cheek and soon regained her senses.

The boy who got off first stood in front of the carriage door and helped Priest Peace alight the carriage.

“Welcome!”

“Sister!”

The two women hugged each other. Looking at the two who didn’t have any hesitation, Rachel thought that it was different from when they met at the temple.

Is it because this is the mansion? Evelyn had thrown away her etiquette and formality.

The two separated and asked each other how they were doing and spent nearly 5 minutes just answering.

“Oh my, I must have been out of my mind. How could I leave our guests in the yard? Let’s talk inside.”

Rachel sent a gaze to Evelyn. It was an unspoken sign to remember why they called the priest.

She soon felt Rachel’s gaze. Evelyn smiled and led her to Rachel.

“This is my daughter Rachel. You’ve seen her before, right?”

“She has really grown a lot. By the way…”

Priest Peace hesitated to speak. Rachel knew what was going to come out of her mouth, so she wasn’t surprised by the reaction.

Instead, Rachel looked at the boy behind the priest. Although he looked younger than the one in the original, he was definitely Enoch.

In the original, he appears in the lobby on the first floor of the main building as [Unknown silver-haired man]. He emitted holy light to kill enemies, carried Rachel who had weakened legs, and solved other problems when a trap came out of the annex that separated him from Rachel.

Just before going to the basement, he revealed his name.

‘You were a paladin from the temple! I didn’t see you when I went to the temple before.’

Now, even if she goes to the next round, she can still find him. Rachel stared into his face.

From the yard to the mansion, he furrowed his brows as if he felt uncomfortable, but he was still handsome.

In the original story, he was gentle and did not show anger, but since he was still a boy right now, he was still honest with his feelings.

“Priest.”

“I know. Let’s talk in the drawing room first.”

Enoch was stopped while trying to say something to Priest Peace. Rachel was sure that her predictions were right.

They moved to the first-floor drawing room and a maid, who served tea, dragged the cart and followed.

A cup was placed in front of all of them and the maid was sent out after tea was poured.

“Aren’t you surprised by the sudden call?”

“I wouldn’t be surprised by this. In fact, I wouldn’t even be surprised if Sister Evelyn caught a dragon.”

The priest calmly answered Evelyn’s question, and Enoch, who was sitting next to her, widened his golden eyes. To be precise, he responded to the name Evelyn.

“Is that true? Is this the Evelyn-nim?”

As if he had met his hero, the boy’s eyes, who had a bad expression all this time, brightened. Rachel couldn’t understand his reaction and looked at Evelyn.

“I don’t know who the Evelyn-nim you know is, but if it’s the Evelyn who trained in the temple in the past, then that must be me.”

At Evelyn’s answer, Enoch’s expression sparkled, like a child who just received a Christmas present.

Rachel wondered about Evelyn’s past. The Evelyn she knew was just a beautiful, ordinary, noble woman, and she could not understand why Enoch was acting that way.

“Priest, who is this tall boy?”

At Evelyn’s question, Enoch broadened his shoulders and straightened his chest.

“He’s the kid I’m keeping an eye on.”

“A priest, right?”

“Introduce yourself.”

“This is Lux’s servant, Enoch.” [Enoch]

Meanwhile, Priest Peace drank tea. Enoch had calmed down and seemed to have realized that he had been too excited.

“Actually, it is my daughter, not me, who has a business with the priest.”

Everyone’s eyes turned to Rachel. Rachel smiled calmly.

“Greetings. As mother mentioned, I asked her to call the priest. As you probably have already felt, I would like to receive counsel about my abilities, my body, and this mansion.”

At Rachel’s words, Priest Peace asked in a low voice.

“Miss Rachel seems to already know a lot.”

“I saw an ominous future through my dreams after I fell off the stairs. It was mostly about me dying.”

There was no need to say that she died and returned. Dreams were the easiest.

“My first dream was that I was hit by a material that fell off the roof.”

At Rachel’s words, Evelyn nodded her head.

“The day Rachel woke up, a plank fell from the roof. The child said it before the accident happened.”

“What next?”

“A statue, a well, a carriage, bumblebees, thieves, rose bushes, hammers, stairs to the basement. And even a doll caused my death, which I saw in my dreams.”

So far, she has never been killed by a knife-wielding doll, but Rachel has included the doll as well.

“Really?”

Evelyn was also hearing this for the first time and had a surprised expression on her face.

‘You must have thought that even though I saw an ominous future, that there would only be a few.’

She seemed shocked that Rachel knew a lot more than she expected.

Soon after, Evelyn opened her mouth.

“Priest, actually, Rachel’s accident wasn’t from falling off the stair railing.”

Rachel turned her head to look at Evelyn. This was the first time she had ever heard her say this. Rachel only knew that it was a stair railing accident before she took possession of Rachel’s body.

Priest Peace nodded her head, telling her to go on with her story, and Evelyn continued.

“I felt the gaze a few days ago. There was a presence so I followed it, but it disappeared in an instant.”

“Sister couldn’t catch it even with your powers?”

Priest Peace naturally mentioned Evelyn’s abilities. What powers could her ordinary mother have? She thought to herself.

“Yes. I told the family and the employees that Rachel’s accident was from leaning on a railing and falling, but…”

Evelyn threw Rachel a look. She seemed to be hesitating.

“The truth is, a black shadow dragged Rachel, and I caught it, but it disappeared. Rachel doesn’t seem to remember the situation.”

What is it? I’m scared! Rachel rubbed her arms that had goosebumps.

It is true that the original was a horror game, but there had been no ghosts nor monsters so far. There were many accidents, but she thought they were far from scary, but now, Evelyn was saying that there was a black shadow.

“Then it is my turn to talk. There is an ominous aura in Miss Rachel’s body and in this mansion.”

Rachel was unimpressed because it was a story she had heard before, but hearing this, Evelyn broke the fan she was holding in her hand.

Rachel scratched her cheek as she saw Evelyn break the sturdy fan with just her grip. No matter how she looked at it, it was something that shouldn’t have been able to break with one hand.

“An ominous energy?”

“For example, the energy of the devil?”

It was Rachel, not Priest Peace, who answered Evelyn’s question. Rachel’s reply shocked Evelyn.

She got up from the sofa and grabbed Rachel’s shoulder.

“What do you mean? Did you touch black magic?”

Black magic. There was a perception that black magic was a very evil force in this country. Also, black magicians were thoroughly suppressed in Kudas.

This was because a certain black magician summoned the devil in the past and a small kingdom was erased from the map.

Evelyn looked down at Rachel as if she was a mother who could not tolerate her child partaking in black magic.

Rachel couldn’t answer because the shoulders she was holding hurt so much. As a result, Priest Peace stood up and stopped her.

“It’s not like that. This is not a contract with the devil, she is being targeted by him.”

At Priest Peace’s explanation, Evelyn relaxed her hands and plopped down on the sofa.

“Why?”

Priest Peace approached Rachel and imbued her with her divine powers. The throbbing pain in her shoulder was relieved at once.

“Do not worry too much. Thanks to God’s blessing, she remains untouched.”

Only then did Evelyn breathe a sigh of relief and said she was sorry.

“Did Miss Rachel know?”

“Because it is also an ominous thing.”

Rachel glossed over it like that. She was actually more surprised that the people accepted her abilities so easily.

“Then shall we take a look inside the mansion just as Miss Rachel said?”

The four of them came out of the drawing room. Rachel found Henry hanging out in the hallway. Evelyn called to him in a joyful voice.

“Honey?”

Originally, he should have gone up to the capital around this time. However, in this round, he did not go to the capital and stayed in the mansion.

Evelyn was delighted, but Rachel narrowed her eyes.

‘Why didn’t you go?’

“Is it because you’re worried about Rachel? You didn’t listen to me when I asked you to listen together!”

Evelyn smiled and patted her husband on the back. Rachel looked at him as he frowned and she prayed for the well-being of Henry’s back.

“Priest. Can we talk separately before you go?”

“Let’s do that.”

“What is it, honey? If you ask me, I can tell you everything.”

Evelyn spoke in a playful tone, and Henry replied that it was nothing.

“It’s nice to see you two. Then, I’ll make time to see you before I go. Or would you like to go together now?”

At the priest’s suggestion, Henry decided to go with them.

The first place they checked was the hallway on the first floor close to the drawing room. Standing in the hallway lined with paintings and statues, the priest and Enoch stood right in front of the one statue.

The white statue made of plaster was precisely depicted down to each wrinkle.

It was a well-made statue, but it was also the statue that caused Rachel to die in the second round.

Priest Peace looked at Rachel’s expression and, as if convinced of something, asked to move the statue to the yard. Evelyn called her servants to move the statue to the yard.

Then she took the doll from Rachel’s room and went out.

“Let’s check these first. Where did you get these things?”

Henry’s expression hardened slightly at Priest Peace’s question. Rachel’s eyes narrowed on their own.

If you think about it, Henry was suspicious. He was also the younger brother of Paris Emporus who had killed her.

She didn’t want to suspect him, but she was a little suspicious of him because Henry was only cold to her.

“The statue was originally in this mansion, and the doll was a gift from my brother to my daughter. Is there a problem?”

“Yes, there is a problem. If you look under the statue, there are traces of plaster added. If you scratch here…”

Priest Peace aimed at the lower part of the statue with her cane. Then the part tore apart as it was being scraped.

Someone gasped. A yellow skull peeked through the broken statue. The priest then smashed the statue, avoiding breaking the skull, which was then revealed completely. There was a cut on the skull as if it had been sawed off.

Rachel had seen that skull in a game.

A huge skeleton that jumped and chased after you. On the 1st floor stage, this skeleton clung to you relentlessly, created traps that would kill you the moment you encountered it, and collapsed the 1st floor floor while escaping.

In the game, it was a boring enemy that disappeared only after meeting Enoch.

[Risk rate: 89%]

Rachel checked the blue window in front of her.

‘The risk went down!’

The risk rate would not have gone down if she had simply avoided it.

“The statue was originally hollow, but someone placed a skull inside.”

Priest Peace said while examining the fragments of the broken statue. Then her gaze turned to the hide-and-seek doll.

“Let’s also check that in front of everyone.”

The little doll with curly blonde hair, blue eyes and a pink dress was very pretty, but it was a doll that would hack away at you if you met it in the game.
