"Hmm," Compass Carburettor frowned, thinking that the likelihood of some one-horned creatures being there was high. But, he wasn't able to reach there, not with the grass covering all the way until the foot of the hill.

Besides, he needed a way to head towards Feora City. Even if they managed to kill enough mutated beasts, and everyone got an ability, it still wouldn't change the situation. After all, they would only be able to use it once.

Every activation of the ability required a pearl.

It made him regret the fact that he had picked the ability of the mongoose as a trial first. Even though it was pretty useful, it might have been better for him to take the bird's orb. Maybe if he obtained a pair of wings, then his situation would have been a lot better.

'But, I'll just save it for later. Once I reach Stage 2, I'll be able to use it.' Thinking as such, Compass Carburettor shook his head, "Unfortunately, ten metres is my jumping limit. Besides, this power isn't as convenient as you think."

"What do you mean?" The boy asked in curiosity.

"There's a lot to explain." Compass Carburettor sighed, "You'll automatically know everything related to it once you get an ability."

He then thought of something, asking, "What are they discussing? Do they have any plan for leaving this place?"

"They are planning to set the place on fire using petrol." The boy said, pointing at the hill, "For some reason, the grass hasn't grown on that hill. So, they were planning to set this area on fire to make a route for us to drive towards the hill. If anything, that's better than heading towards the city that's too far away."

"It's just fifteen kilometres away." Compass Carburettor sighed. During peaceful times, fifteen kilometres was nothing. It was just a ten-minute ride on a bike. But now, the very same distance seemed like an impossible-to-cross chasm.

"Those people are here!" Suddenly, an aunty opened the door to yell before shutting it tight, making her presence obscure.

Her shout alerted everyone as they turned around to see tens of Grassmen beginning to walk on the flyover, soon rushing towards them.

Compass Carburettor frowned, stating solemnly, "Kid, stay behind me if you wish to survive."

"Okay," The teenager said before glancing at a particular car behind, nodding once at his parents to assure them, motioning for them to hide.

Left with no other choice, they tucked under the seats, covering themselves with some clothes to prevent the Grassmen from discovering them. That's how they managed to survive all along.

If not for the fact that they would begin to thrash all cars otherwise, everyone would have remained in hiding to survive.

Compass Carburettor took in a deep breath, watching the approaching Grassmen as he muttered, "Your teachings are what I need to rely on now, Hekatra."

Compass Carburettor activated his two Armaments, condensing a sword on one and a shield on another, firming his grip over them as he jumped forward, slashing forth in quick successions to sever the limbs of a Grassman.

But, he had already seen before that decapitating them won't work. After all, the Grassman whose limbs were severed shuddered for a moment before tiny grass strands grew out from within and rejoined with the severed parts, pulling them back before getting attached.

Wriggling his arms once, the Grassman got up. But, no sooner had he done so did Compass Carburettor sever his head, this time bashing it with his shield to send it flying over the flyover.

His headless body could only flail on the ground, unable to get up. 'Seems it still needs to rely upon the brain for all functions. But still, that's one insane vitality.'

Unwilling to waste his Darlac too much, Compass Carburettor flashed through the crowd once, holding out an energy blade in both hands, appearing behind them. As both the energy blades shattered, the heads of more than fifteen Grassmen were decapitated.

Using the shield, he swatted them all beyond the flyover, watching the heads fall into the grass below.

"Is that a…lightsabre?" The teenager looked at Compass Carburettor's fighting figure, starstruck. As the saying went, no man with a hint of fire within them ever considered lightsabres uncool. It could be said that lightsabres were a man's romance.

Upon seeing such a scene, in reality, he forgot about the fact that their lives were in peril. Only upon Compass Carburettor's shout did he react and defend himself against a Greenman's attack.

His opponent was a child that was ten years old, looking like a schoolgirl, making him hesitate to attack her, passively defending.

Suddenly, followed by a flash, her head was decapitated as Compass Carburettor sent it flying out of the flyover, saying in all seriousness, "She had once been a human, but now, she's not. If you are hesitant, think of all these Grassmen as zombies that are controlled by grass. That'll help reduce your hesitation a little."

"I'll try," The boy nodded and slammed the rod into the head of a Grassman, denting it a little. The Grass man condensed a blade out of its hand, swiping at him in return.

"Kyak!" The boy barely managed to defend himself when a burly man sent the Grassman flying. Held in his hands was a broken shaft that he removed from a damaged car.

Thanks to his large physique, he was able to wield it with enough power to pummel his opponents, deforming them with a single hit, preventing them from recovering easily as green juice flowed out of their bodies.

All the men had spread out, fighting to their utmost limit.

"Save me!" One of them screamed as a Greenman began to drag him towards the edge of the flyover, intending to throw him over into the grass below.

"Not on my watch!" The leader of their group smacked it with his crowbar, using the chance to hook into its body as he grunted, exerting enough power to throw it away from the flyover, "They have become lighter than before."

"Everyone! Persevere! There aren't many enemies left!" Shouting in response, he smacked another Greenman, suddenly turning around to see the figure of Compass Carburettor dancing through a crowd of Grassmen.

And following in his wake were a bunch of heads being kicked out of bounds like soccer balls.
