"Please…spare me…" The youth muttered after a while, trembling in fear now upon seeing the shimmering stars on the jet-black body of the other party.

Even though he had become accustomed to seeing mutated beasts and Grassmen due to his over three months of apocalypse experience, he wasn't yet prepared to witness such deific beings.

After all, the moment he saw the other party, he could feel that resistance was pretty much futile. His attacks were destroyed before managing to even touch the other party. It was not to mention that his body wasn't even listening to him now.

So, he had no idea as to what he had to do. His sword had been brutally destroyed in that attack, with the relevant mutated beast on the verge of death. So, he had to wait until it healed over time, unsure as to how long that might take.

He would have to feed it mutated beast corpses until them, having to primarily rely on his sole other ability.

"Spare you?" Suddenly, there was a chuckle from the mysterious spatial entity, "Maybe I might if you tell the reason for summoning me."

"Summoning…you? I summoned you?" He asked in shock, "But how? I don't think I have such an ability."

"Recall," The mysterious spatial entity stated plainly, causing the youth's expression to collapse as he broke his head trying to remember when he might have done something like that.

"Dammit, Ruer! Don't leave me, damn you! Why? You promised to stay with me!" Holding the mangled corpse of his sister, the youth shed tears.

When the apocalypse struck, there was plenty of chaos in the place. Law and order were non-existent and fear grabbed hold of the people's actions. In such desperate times, the youth and his family struggled to survive.

When the Grassmen tried to attack them, they barely managed to fend them off by using any stick and metal they came across. Following it were the attacks from the mosquitoes and even mutated beasts that ventured into their place.

The mutated beasts consisted of the pets that they had been raising. It was hard to resist such mutated beasts as they were used to the locality, for it was the home they grew up at.

The mutated rats were especially troublesome as they still retained their tiny bodies. But now, they had become expert climbers, being able to scale and invade any apartment building.

The youth's parents had become a feast for the rats. And, during the struggle, he managed to kill some one-horned rats. Left with no other choice, he couldn't even give a proper cremation for his parents, having to dump their bodies outside.

Keeping them indoors would only pollute their surroundings. He felt absolutely mortified while throwing away their bodies. But, he still had a family to protect, his sole driving force. It was his younger sister that was only fifteen years old now.

There was an age gap of seven years between the two, but he was still pretty close to her. At this time, seeing the dead bodies of his parents, he had prayed, "If there is a God in this stupid world, please make us wake up from this nightmare."

After dumping the corpses of their parents, he planned to do the same for all the rat corpses. But, when he lifted the corpse of a one-horned rat, a pearl slipped out of it. He was curious as to what it was, prying open the rat's body, failing to see anything else of value in it.

He then did the same to the rest of the rats, noticing that those with a horn had a pearl in them. And from the body of one of them, he obtained an orb.

He was unsure as to what he had to do with them, only pocketing them for the time being as he disposed of the rat corpses.

Later that night, while he was sleeping, he dreamed of swallowing that orb and obtaining a powerful gun that would make him strong enough to survive in this wretched apocalypse.

He immediately woke up in the middle of the night and took out the orb, hesitating for a couple of seconds before swallowing it.

Instinctively, he sensed that he was about to die due to a lack of energy, taking out a pearl that he swallowed. With that, he obtained his first ability, understanding the power structure of the world.

Following that, he resisted the mutated beasts, relying on anything he can to survive, managing to procure an orb for his sister too, giving her enough power to survive on her own.

He also helped his surviving neighbours, intending to huddle together and survive this apocalypse. But, that was where their nightmare had begun.

Some of his neighbours, when obtaining this power, caused their greed to spark. They wished to take over the place and rule it, beginning their oppression by gathering humans from nearby apartments too.

As his sister, Ruer was really pretty, they set their lustful gazes on her. It was a series of tragic incidents after that as they tried to capture her on a daily basis while the youth had to fend them off.

Some of the attackers died while others survived and returned for revenge. It was dangerous with the passing of every single day, but the siblings persisted.

Daily, he prayed for the safety of his family. But over time, he stopped praying, for there was no response to his prayers, "God doesn't exist in this world. The fate of my family rests on my hand."

Two months into the apocalypse, the youth reached Stage 2, becoming the strongest in the area. He directly retaliated after that, killing his enemies as he looted their reserve of pearls, using them to further target others.

It was a bloodbath. But, what he hadn't foreseen during that period was the fact that one of his enemies had escaped and inched his way to the youth's house, intending to target his sister prior to his death.

In the following scuffle, his sister managed to kill the attacker, but sustained a grievous injury. That was the scene the youth saw when he returned from the bloodbath. After that, he tried his best to nurse her back to health, trying everything in his means.

But over the days, Ruer turned weak as numerous infections plagued her through her wounds, eventually claiming her life. At that time, he could only cry while gazing at the sky, "I prayed for the well-being of my family. Was that too much?"

"Fuck you, God!"

"Hah…haha…ahahahaha!" The youth laughed crazily as he stared at the mysterious spatial entity, "What's the use of arriving now? Huh?"
