Chapter 396: Successful Breakthrough

Boom!

Mella’s aura spiked, startling her as her Kirin Martial Spirit manifested physically in reality, signifying the start of her breakthrough. But, this only caused her to worry. After all, she hadn’t made any preparations here.

“Focus! It’s natural, so your chances are further higher as compared to before.” Compass Carburettor said, noticing the figures of Into, Inpah, and Illeto arrive at the room’s entrance, shouting at them, “Quick! Take out all your Essence Stones. A delay might destroy this chance!”

“Here!” Illeto moved instinctively, emptying all the Essence Stones from his spatial pouch before Mella. Into and Inpah were a bit slower but they too did the same.

Mella’s Kirin Martial Spirit began to consume the Essence Stones, sucking in all the Origin Essence within them, causing a vortex of energy to form around it.

Unlike a minor breakthrough that was just accumulating enough Origin Essence until a quantitative difference is achieved, a major breakthrough contained considerable risks.

For a breakthrough from the Origin Refinement Stage to the Martial Origin Stage, the goal was to manifest the Martial Spirit into reality.

And to attain this, the cultivator would have to continue compressing Origin Essence into the Martial Spirit until it attained a solid form.

But, this was pretty much the precursor to a ticking time bomb. After all, while compressing the Origin Essence within the Martial Spirit, they would continue to build up pressure within it. And throughout the process, they would have to expend their Will to ensure the Origin Essence remains compressed while trying to add more Origin Essence to it and compress it further.

A moment’s lapse in concentration would cause their Martial Spirit to explode, also claiming their lives in the process as the explosion would be powerful enough to destroy a couple of houses at least.

But, a breakthrough from the Martial Origin Stage to the Martial Providence Stage was even more dangerous.

After all, the goal of this breakthrough was to fuse with the Martial Spirit. This meant that while the Martial Spirit once again became a ticking time bomb, they would also have to experience excruciating pain while their body slowly began to melt and fuse with the Martial Spirit.

There was no going back once this process started. After all, their body would be no more once the breakthrough continues. They would maintain their consciousness within the Martial Spirit. And if the breakthrough fails, they would of course die.

But this time, the explosion would be powerful enough to destroy an entire area, enough to flatten a hill. Even Martial Providence Stage cultivators wouldn’t survive such an explosion.

So, when someone attempted this breakthrough, they would first prepare a lot, ensuring that even if they were to fail, they wouldn’t destroy any Clan Property or kill the Clansmen.

After all, the success rate was too low due to the difficulties involved.

This was why, despite obtaining the Providence Pills, Into hadn’t attempted to break through for three years. He had been making preparations for so long.

Surprisingly, Mella was faring pretty well as she was able to compress the Origin Essence within the Martial Spirit’s body with greater precision.

“The greater the amount of Origin Essence she compresses within her Martial Spirit, the stronger her foundation after reaching the Martial Providence Stage.” Illeto spoke in worry before gazing at Compass Carburettor, “Doctor, please move away from her. It’s dangerous.”

“I’ll be staying right here.” Compass Carburettor smiled, stating in confidence, “There is no use in running this service if I cannot trust in my judgement.”

“Fine, we’ll give you company them.” The three Elders of the Opposition Clan said in unison, deciding to believe in his judgement as they entered the room, taking measures to block Mella’s aura from leaking out.

Time passed in such a fashion as the Kirin Martial Spirit seemed to be growing stronger and stronger as the air around it began to tremble violently.

Mella continued to compress Origin Essence into it, finally stopping once it showed sighs of exploding, understanding that she had reached her limit. But this limit itself shocked the trio watching her, for she had compressed a greater quantity of Origin Essence than what they thought was possible for them.

“Now for the most dangerous part,” Illeto said, clenching his hand into a fist in nervousness, for it was his wife making this breakthrough. He prayed that she completed it successfully.

Slowly, Mella’s body shuddered as she sweated profusely. And steadily, the sweat formed a pool on the floor that was absorbed by her Kirin Martial Spirit. As an hour passed in such a fashion, the sweat turned into blood as her body began to shrivel up rapidly.

Moreover, her skin began to fall off as a powder, turning into smoke that gushed into the Kirin Martial Spirit.

At present, Mella’s face was ghastly, displaying the severity of pain she was experiencing. But, she somehow endured as the entirety of her body vanished, now absorbed by her Martial Spirit that pulsated with Origin Essence.

Boom!

Boom!

Glock!

Boom!

Boom!

One moment, it seemed like the Origin Essence in the Martial Spirit was stabilising but at the next moment, it showed signs of exploding, alternating between the two as the situation continued to deteriorate.

“No…no! No! No!” Illeto felt his heart had jumped out of his chest every time the Kirin Martial Spirit pulsed, looking on the verge of exploding.

But surprisingly, Compass Carburettor was the calmest of them all, actually getting a feel for himself firsthand.

Origin Art—Mind Connect!

He was going through her memories like experiencing a virtual simulation from her perspective, obtaining a clearer understanding of what Mella was trying to do here.

She was using the pulsations to condense a core of sorts within the Kirin Martial Spirit, actually strengthening its foundation further. She still had full control over the process, her Will having been strengthened due to the enlightenment as thoughts flashed in her mind, giving her ideas of the various ways she could manipulate the Origin Essence within the Kirin Martial Spirit and complete the breakthrough.

An hour after such a back and forth, Mella successfully completed her breakthrough, reaching the Martial Providence Stage.
