After her first day of competition, Gu Xi could sit relaxingly in the rest area and be an audience on the second day.
What was surprising to her was that Lin Anxin did not participate in any of the 4 competitions over both days.
In addition to Lin Anxin, the other freshman from Liming did not participate in any competition either.
Calling her a passerby would be an understatement.
Thought Gu Xi to herself.
As the principal of Liming had described their practice: The main force for the competition comprised sophomores and juniors. The freshmen were the seeds for the future and were straightly there to observe.
Liming did not have a lot of options in this matter. The competition did not specific the level of students participating in the competition but it was an unspoken rule that each school would send students from all levels.
Comparing to the sophomores and juniors, however, freshmen’s knowledge was…… a bit lacking.
They at least had a “Lin Xi” the year prior. As for this current year, even the top of the freshman class was not that close to the students in the grades above them.
The competition only stated that each school must sent 8 students but there was no hard and fast rule on who to participate in each individual competition. As such, Liming was able to exploit the loophole and send a couple of freshmen there to observe instead of participating in the actual competitions.
Liming was neither the first nor the only school who adopted that strategy.
As such, even though other had noticed the students who weren’t participating, nobody said anything about it.

The competitions in the first two days had wrapped up.
Returning to the hotel, the three responsible teachers of HSAU gathered their 8 students together.
All three of the teachers appeared to be very happy.
“We have received the scored for the first 4 competitions,” said the lead teacher.
She was able to find out the current ranking through certain channels.
“After our first two days of hard work, we are now sitting in first place and our combined score is 30 points ahead of that of the second place. Not bad,” said the lead teacher with a face full of smile.
Their results from the first four competitions out performed how they did in the past.
Over the last two days, the group of students had become very excited in the past couple of days – not only had they been studying more, even Gu Chenyi and Sheng Xiuyan reviewed their own work before they walk out of the venue.
The three teachers were amazed.
“Tomorrow is the last competition and also the key. It determines the largest proportion of the final score. We must hold steady, alright?” said the lead teacher as she looked toward Gu Xi and Sheng Xiuyan.

Secretly, she very much looked forward to the performances of these two valedictorians.
“Okay.” Gu Nian nodded seriously.
Sheng Xiuyan also acknowledged it for a change.

After they were dismissed, those from HSAU still looked very happy on their way back to their rooms.
Including Gu Xi and Gu Chenyi.
“30 points below us? Those from Liming can start crawling,” said Gu Chenyi leisurely. He couldn’t wait to see the distressed look on the Liming crowd, especially that of the two braindeads Gao Zifan and Lin Anxin.
Having said that, something occurred to him, Gu Chenyi lowered his head, looked at Gu Xi, and asked, “What were you going to say to those from Liming yesterday morning?”
“Was it about yourself?” Gu Chenyi chose his words carefully.
He recalled what Gu Xi started to say but was interrupted by Lin Anxin.
Gu Chenyi didn’t know much about the Lin family but he heard that they were bad, and very cliché.
Exposing the cliché past of the Lin family was not difficult. Nevertheless, if it was that easy, nevermind about his grandfather and second uncle, he would have already taken care of that along with Gu Yanlin and Gu Yanxiao.
Unfortunately, exposing the Lin family would inevitably affect Gu Xi. That was not something they wished to see.
Gu Xi shook her head after she heard Gu Chenyi. “Of course not.”
She was merely intimidating Lin Anxin was all.
Compared to her, Lin Anxin and the entire Lin family worried more about their past being exposed.
Gu Xi didn’t care about the affect on herself should the past of the Lin family come to light nor did she care about what would happen to Lin Yize or Song Kexin. She merely didn’t want Gu Shao to be dragged into all this.
She didn’t care about what the Gu Shao in the novel was like. After she had spent time with Gu Xi, she realized that he was a very nice person and a very responsible father. He might be a little mean and a little solemn some time but that would not change the fact that he was a straightlaced person.
Deep down inside, Gu Xi did not wish Gu Shao’s name to be tarnished by all the craziness from the male and female leads of the novel.
He raised her and she wanted to protect him anyway that she could as well.
Recalling that she had yet to check in with Gu Shao today, Gu Xi pulled out her phone and texted both Gu Shao and Aunty Mei and let them know that all was well. She also mentioned that they were currently in first place.
