After hanging up on the phone, Gu Shao looked up and saw Wang Wu looking at him, dazed.
“You have kids?” asked Gu Shao, seemingly casually.
Wang Wu, “……” Not an overly damaging hit but definitely very insulting.
“Ahem, Sir, I am still single,” said Wang Wu in a low voice.
That being said, Wang Wu started looking forward to getting married and starting his own family recently, especially at the idea of having a cute and sweet daughter around.
Envy……
Gu Shao looked away from him –– he didn’t have much to say to someone who didn’t have a child.
“Go get a card for me,” said Gu Shao to Wang Wu.
Wang Wu knew exactly what Gu Shao meant without him having to elaborate on it. He nodded and said, “I will get right on it.”

Xu Fei entered the room now with a stack of documents in his hand.
“Chairman, these are the project applications from the last few months. Please take a look at them,” said Xu Fei as he handed the documents over to Gu Shao.
Gu Shao quickly skimmed over the documents and, not finding anything that stood out to him, quickly signed them.
“In addition……” a part of our capital are tied up in the OA process. You will need to sign off on those as well.
Before Xu Fei could finish up what he was saying, he saw their chairman looked at the time, put his pen away, stood up, and got ready to leave.
“Are you taking off now, Chairman?” asked Xu Fei.
“Mmhmm,” said Gu Shao. He then took his jacket from Wang Wu and said, “I have to go pick up my child.”
Xu Fei was taken aback a little a little when he heard that, almost suspecting that he had misheard.
Surprised, Xu Fei exchanged a look with Wang Wu silently and received a don’t-look-at-me-I-am-just-as-surprised-as-you-arelook from Wang Wu.
Just a month ago, nobody would believe that the day would come when their employer would contemplate about issues of education and pocket money for his child and to make sure to go on time to pick his child up.
Mainly, Gu Shao wanted to go pick Gu Xi up because he was still worried that Gu Xi was being bullied at school.* From the investigation reports from yesterday, he seemed to have been overthinking this. The questions that Gu Xi had asked him yesterday, though, was very out of the ordinary.
Before Gu Shao could even walked out of his office, he saw a text from Gu Xi.
It said that she was going to go watch Gu Chenyi’s basketball game and would be home late.
Gu Shao frowned a little but finally responded with an “okay.”
“What was it that you were going to say?” Gu Shao looked over at Xu Fei.

Xu Fei, “……” So the chairman did hear what he was saying earlier.
He only pretended that he didn’t hear him because his daughter came before work.
“There are a few more applications that need taken care of.”
“Okay, bring them to me.”

At HSAU.
Gu Xi dragged Dong Mingming with her to watch the basketball game after she had gotten her time off from Gu Shao.
“Why do I feel that you are more excited than I am?” mumbled Dong Mingming when she noticed that Gu Xi was packing up even faster than she was.
“I am excited,” said Gu Xi as she looked over at Dong Mingming and raised her brows. “Isn’t that normal?”
“I thought you aren’t interested in these things?” said Dong Mingming feebly. After all, Gu Xi didn’t even seem interested at all at the student representative voting.
“That’s not the same.” She still wanted to watch Gu Chenyi’s game.
Gu Chenyi had texted her about having a game this afternoon since after the first afternoon class followed by another 10+ texts the entire afternoon. Gu Xi, however, did not see them till after school as she had DND on.
Dong Mingming had no idea what Gu Xi meant by “not the same” but she nodded and giggled. “Right, it’s not the same. Haha.”
“Let’s go. Let’s go.” Dong Mingming, too, hurried up.
Even though the two of them had gotten there as quickly as they could, they were almost not able to find themselves seats when they arrived at the basketball court.
Luckily, Gu Chengli had been very reliable and had seats saved for them – the middle spots in the front row.
“Which two classes are playing today?” Gu Xi asked Dong Mingming after she was seated.
Why were there so many people?
Upon hearing that, Dong Mingming gave Gu Xi a peculiar look, “……”
Why were you so excited if you didn’t even know which two teams were playing?

Really? With Gu Chengli, Gu Yanxiao and now Sheng Xiuyan. Can anyone possibly bully our MC? =.= That would be one daring move on their part!
