“Gosh! Someone finally picked up on that!” said Dong Mingming emotionally as she read the discussion. So most of them were not entirely blind.
If they kept it up, they just might be able to find out that it was Gu XueEr who started all this!
Thought Dong Mingming to herself.
She had, however, oversimplified things.
Before any one could find out who it was behind it, the official Art Department account had posted a message. More or less apologizing for their oversight. That the frog headgear was also made by their members, which was why they used it anyway. The assigning of the headgears was random and there were others who used it as well but they didn’t turn out right so they swapped to other ones. They forgot to take down Gu Xi’s name at the time and wasn’t able to get in touch with her and the student responsible for the photos didn’t pay a lot of attention and just used her photo.
After the explanation and the apologies, the “conspiracy theories” finally came to a halt.
Seeing how the table was turned, Dong Mingming was very aggravated. “Gu XueEr was, for certain, the person behind it all! She didn’t want the matters to escalate, which was why she posted that announcement.
“She is so manipulative. She used the entire Art Department to stop others from seeing what kind of person she true is!” Dong Mingming grumbled unhappily. She had decided to go from a passerby to Gu XueEr’s anti-fan.
“Hrm, Such a fake.” Here they thought that she was some sort school goddess.
After the disgusting feeling had subsided some, Dong Mingming smiled again. “Hehe, Gu Xi. Let me give you some good news. Your vote counts went up again.”
After the turn of events the night before, more and more people started speaking out for Gu Xi.
[The Gu family has some good genes. Even such ugly headgear couldn’t make them look less attractive.]
[Right? Besides, I like Goddess Xi because she was strong academically. Her looks is just icing on the cake.]
……
These discussions slowly started covering up the purposefully smearing words in the past.
And Gu Xi’s votes to be the “Student Representative” had also shot up after this incident and was about to surpass Gu XueEr’s votes.

Gu XueEr had spent so much time and effort to orchestrate the whole event. Lo and behold, it ended up boosting Gu Xi’s vote counts. Gu XueEr probably regretted so much that her intestines are turning green from regret right now about.
Thought Dong Mingming to herself with her phone in hand.

On the other side.
Inside the junior year classroom, Gu XueEr’s friends were almost monitoring the change in votes closely.
Seeing that Gu XueEr had dropped into the second place, she called out to Gu XueEr nervously, “Oh no, XueEr, No. 2 Gu Xi had passed you in vote counts!”
Gu XueEr’s face stiffened a little upon hearing that. She took a stealth look at the vote counts and saw that not only did Gu Xi surpassed her in vote counts but it was still climbing in numbers. A vicious look flashed past Gu XueEr’s eyes.
Gu XueEr quickly returned to normal in front of her friends. She smiled and expressed that it didn’t bother her. “It’s just vote counts. It’s normal to go up and down.
“Besides, what happened to Gu Xi was the fault of the Art Department. It’d make sense that others gave her their votes out of compassion.”
Her friends didn’t notice that Gu XueEr’s hand, holding onto her cellphone, was shaking. Seeing how calm Gu XueEr was, her friend, too, nodded and comforted her. “It’s probably just temporary. You will come back ahead later. Don’t worry about it.”
She agreed that Gu Xi had good grades but being the student representative during the Art Festival was about one’s talent. And there was no way that Gu Xi was more talented than Gu XueEr in that way.
Right then, another friend poked her head over and asked, “But, XueEr, hadn’t you mentioned before that you are related to Gu Yanxiao and Gu Chenyi? So if Gu Xi is cousins with Gu Yanxiao and the others, you must have interactions with her as well?”
Gu XueEr shook her head when she heard that. “No, I had, in the past, interacted with Gu Yanxiao and the others from time to time but I have only seen Gu Xi once. I am not sure what happened before but she had only recently rejoined the family.”
Gu XueEr’s explanation wasn’t very clear but, when the two girls heard her what she said, the only thing that occurred to them was: born out of the wedlock.
The two exchanged a look and, as the bell signifying the beginning of class had rung, did not discuss this further.
