“Oh right.” Something occurring to him, Xu Fei added, “Xiao Xi’s team is, of course, still in #1 position and their grades were slightly higher than what they had gotten the first time around.”
Although part of that could be due to certain experts had scored them higher because they knew of Gu Xi and Gu Shao’s relationship. One way or another, Xu Fei felt that their project deserved the grades that they had earned.
Xu Fei felt that his liver was still hurting when thinking about the past week.
It was no small beat to implement T&S prototype. A week and a half ago, which was when Liu Dehing had just announced that Gu Xi’s team’s topic was unrealistic, their boss had put the material from Gu Xi’s team’s topic on the conference room table during NTN’s technical meeting and had everyone create it within 10 days. Many presented that day were shocked beyond words.
The design was one thing. Having to create the actual prototype was far more complicated than Gu Xi and her team’s concept. The only reason they were able to pull it off was because their boss had said “at any cost.”
This was not the same as the mass-produced product in the future. It would not be an exaggeration to say that this prototype was built with money. All of it components and chips were top of the line. Su Man-er of them were custom made even.
The human resources thrown at the project was every bit as crazy as the materials. This machine alone had utilized resources of 10+ R&D department at NTN.
One could safely say that the amount of resources that had pooled into this product would have been enough to develop some sort of weapon.

But an investment like that was not entirely meaningless.
The prototype had awed a lot of people. If they were able to lower the cost of production in the future, it would make a good product and would have a lot of usage on the market.
It could very well bring about a lot of return for NTN.
Lu Shao nodded, apparently not paying too much attention to all additional information provided by Xu Fei. A hint of content and unconcealable pride finally flashed passed his eyes when he heard that Gu Xi’s team took first place.

The same could not be said for Liu Dehing.
He was not happy when he learned that the Youth Innovation Competition was going to regrade all of the projects. He was infuriated when he saw that not only did Gu Xi’s team took first place once again, but his grandson’s project had dropped to #3, lower than where they had been the first time around!
“What was up with this Youth Innovation Competition?! And that Hu Pei! Why did he change the competition’s grading and ranking repeatedly?!
“Being open and fair are the most important elements of a competition of this sort. Do they not know that doing something like this could bring about troubles??” Liu Dehing shouted out loudly as he slammed on the table. “When had this ever happened when I was a judge?? Alright, so they didn’t let me participate this year and look what happened!
“Especially this one project. What the heck is this?!” Liu Dehing shouted out as he pointed at the project of Gu Xi’s team on the computer screen. His finger was so forceful that the monitor almost toppled over.
“How many times had I said it in the past? This project is problematic. It’s unrealistic and unreasonable. How did it make it back again?”
As Liu Dehing shouted, his assistants near him dared not make a sound. At the same time, they hesitated whether they should remind their professor once again that the actual prototype had already been done.
Many experts in the field had attended NTN’s unveiling conference but Professor Liu was not invited nor did anyone who attended it related it to him. The assistants had only heard it through some of their friends.
Nevertheless, before they could remind him, Liu Dehing suddenly pointed at them and said, “You, go and contact the organizer of Youth Innovation Competition immediately and said you need to file a complaint that this long-distance relay of smell and taste project had cheated!”
Had they not cheated behind the scenes, how could this project have been reinstated?!
The assistances all looked disturbed then their heard Liu Dehing’s order.
As they dared not object to the professor, the few quietly left his office.
