Chapter 49: Chapter 47 (volume 2)

00:30 am.

Going up the hill and sneaking silently through the trees, there was Fu Hua who was going up the hill towards Ryusuke's house. She decided to go from the back to enjoy the darkness of the night and thus be able to approach without being discovered.

Her goal at this point is to infiltrate the temple that is just ahead and check on the boy who lives there. 

Earlier when Fu Hua arrived in this city she wandered the suburbs for a few hours. She did this to try to mix with the locals as the investigation to find Serenity Gem could take weeks or even months, so she was trying to get to know the city's scenarios for future reference. 

There was a time when she was surprised. Because she managed to identify Welt and Einstein who was getting off the bus, even though the two were very well disguised, Fu Hua was able to recognize both since one of them is the Sovereign of Anti-Entropy. 

Fu Hua then followed the two from a safe distance where she would not be noticed. After a few minutes of following them something unexpected happened. 

Welt Yang fell to the ground, initially Fu Hua thought it might have been just a little clumsy but the next instant she was horrified, because she felt a feeling of weakness in her body. She recognized that feeling of weakness, that was something she had long ago forgotten but now those memories immediately resurfaced in her head. 

It was the power of the Herrscher of Binding. For other people this power can be difficult to deal with, but for MANTIS and Herrschers this power is their worst nightmare, because as their bodies have a very high affinity for Honkai, so they are completely defenseless against the power of Binding. 

In the Previous Age, Fu Hua was one of the Fire Moth MANTIS who fought Honkai. And at that time there was Herrscher of Binding, Fu Hua came to experience the power of Binding in her body. Fortunately, Herrscher of Binding did not become hostile against humanity. 

Unfortunately, she could no longer remember things related to the Previous Age due to the incident that happened 500 years ago. 

Due to the fact that Fu Hua was not the target of Binding's power, she managed to maintain a calm composure and no one noticed any abnormality in her. The next instant Binding's power disappeared and Welt rose from the ground. Fu Hua realized that there was a boy approaching behind Welt and Einstein. 

This boy appeared to be around 10 years old, he had short black hair and black eyes, he basically had a medium appearance. If it weren't for that event now, Fu Hua wouldn't have even noticed him.

When she looked at the boy she felt something inexplicable, she felt that there was something important in her memories that reacted when she saw the boy but no matter how hard she tried she couldn't remember what it was about. But she knew it was very important to her.

When Fu Hua looked at the boy again, she instinctively realized that that boy was this era's Herrscher of Binding, but she strangely didn't feel any hostility towards him in her heart.

It was completely different from when she met the second Herrscher in Siberia where she felt she should destroy Sirin no matter what.

After that she followed Welt and the boy and they entered a temple on top of a hill. This is Ryusuke's home. After an hour Welt and Einstein left Ryusuke's house. 

Fu Hua watched Ryusuke's house from a distance, she had thought a lot and she decided that tonight she would come in to Ryusuke's house and see him to try to better understand her situation.

And so the hours passed and finally midnight came. 

Fu Hua had already switched to black clothing to hide better in the darkness. Before she left for Ryusuke's house, she texted Otto from an encrypted device.

She said that Ryusuke's home might have been related to the theft of Serenity Gem and that she would check the situation. Then she would report what she found out there. 

Fu Hua then began to approach Ryusuke's house slowly and stealthily. Then she arrived at his house, she saw that she had some electronic locks on the doors and windows of the house but she managed to stop security without any problem. 

'But what am I doing? Not my style...' Fu Hua wondered. She wouldn't normally do something like that. If she found out that someone was a Herrscher then she will first observe the distance and she will see whether or not this Herrscher is a threat to humanity. 

She was surprised when Welt Joyce chose to side with humanity, which is why she did nothing against him. In fact, she also has a little respect for him and that respect also extends to his successor, Welt Yang. 

When she saw the second Herrscher, Sirin, she already knew that Sirin was an enemy of humanity. And she fought the second Herrscher without showing mercy. Although she needed to restrain herself because of Otto's request at that time. 

And now she's walked into a Herrscher boy's house without really understanding why. She just knows that when she saw that boy something in her memories she reacted to, it wasn't something negative like hatred towards Honkai, in fact she felt that she could trust him and that there was something she wanted to check with him but she couldn't remember what it was about.

Fu Hua then decided to silently search Ryusuke's room. She intended to use Fenghuang Down to check his memories. Whether to check whether or not Ryusuke is involved in the Serenity Gem theft or to understand his own feelings towards the boy. She knew that what she was doing was wrong, after all she broke into a house at night and she will try to see a child's memories without permission. Still, she needs to continue.

After a minute she found Ryusuke's room. She opened the door slowly so as not to make a noise, she saw Ryusuke sleeping in bed. She was then about to activate the Fenghuang Down that was hanging from her hair when she suddenly felt a huge sense of weakness and a strong drowsiness hit her. 

She tried to turn around and leave the room but her body became so weak that she fell to the floor. 

'That wasn't Binding's power, what happened?' Fu Hua wondered what was going on with her body so that she suddenly became so weak and sleepy suddenly. 

At that moment when she was about to lose consciousness she saw that Ryusuke was already sitting while he was holding a black katana in his hand.

"Tomorrow we will talk calmly, Miss Flame-Chaser." He spoke with a tone full of caution and sleep.

These were the last ones she heard before she lost consciousness.
