Chapter 53: Chapter 50 (volume 2)

"Theresa, thank you so much for attending me at this time. I'm not interrupting anything important, right? "(Otto )

A few minutes after Ryusuke turned off the video called Otto decided to make a video call to his granddaughter, Theresa Apocalypse. 

Theresa's appearance can be summed up as a children's version of Kallen Kaslana. She has bright blue eyes and white hair that she keeps stuck in a ponytail that she leaves at shoulder height. She was wearing a black ruffled dress similar to a nun's clothes.

Theresa Apocalypse called Otto grandpa but they are not related. In fact, Theresa is a Kallen clone that Otto made in an attempt to revive Kallen. 

In the past Otto tried to revive Kallen by creating clones from her DNA, but when he saw those clones he understood at the time that none of them were Kallen. Even when he tried to transfer Kallen's memories to these clones he knew that even though they had the DNA, the genetics and appearance identical to that of Kallen he knew they were not the real Kallen. He wondered why they were so different from Kallen and the only answer he found was that none of them had Kallen's soul. 

On March 28, 1972, during the creation of clone A-310, something unusual happened. That clone was created from the DNA of Kallen Kaslana and an Honkai beast known as Vishnu. Otto was already interested in this clone because thanks to the combination of DNA that was made in it, it would not age after reaching the 12-year margin. But in addition Otto could feel that that clone had something else in particular. 

He did some tests, as that clone knew nothing about herself, did not have an identity but was already reasoned enough to want to understand things, he used these motivations to make one Kallen clone fight the other. So he fought a battle between clone A-310 and clone A-303.

Otto said that the clone who won is to kill the other would have any questions answered and would understand why he was alive. The two started to battle and the A-310 clone is incredibly strong, even Otto is frightened by that power, it seemed that he was seeing Kallen fighting so incredible that the clone was. And after winning the clone he showed mercy by refusing to kill the other clone.

Otto was impressed, such kindness and power could only be seen in Kallen but after doing more research he only proved what seemed inevitable... It is really impossible to bring Kallen back to life just by making clones of her. Even though the A-310 is identical, there is no connection between it and the original Kallen, making copies of the genetics that clones usually have. So he gives up on the plan to bring her back to life through a clone, and he adopts clone A-310 as his granddaughter, he gives her the name Theresa and also gives the ancient Divine Key to Kallen, the Oath of Judah. 

As for another clone who was defeated but was not killed by Theresa, he named her Amber and let her live as his assistant. 

As Theresa had unbelievable skills he lets her join Schicksal's Valkyries and so she starts to go on various missions and fight several Honkai beasts. More and more Otto treated Theresa as if she were his granddaughter. Perhaps because she was one of the few things that still made him happy, perhaps because she reminded him of the time when Kallen was alive. 

Over the years Theresa decided to create a school to train young girls to become Valkyries because Theresa did not agree much with Schicksal's militaristic method. Most of those girls were doomed to die painfully at Honkai's hands, so Theresa wanted them to have a normal and happy life at her Academy.

Women are more likely to develop resistance against Honkai in their bodies than men, but few women have a natural adaptability against Honkai. Most of these women do not have a natural adaptability against Honkai energy so Valkyries need to resort to using artificial stigmas to fight Honkai. 

Natural stigmas are extremely rare to find today, with the exception of the three families, there are not many stigmas in the world. The number of people who have Natural Stigmas in today's world is unknown, but it is certainly an extremely small number. 

Because of the few numbers of natural stigmas, Schicksal did several researches and after a long time of heinous research and experiments they managed to develop and improve artificial stigmas. 

Artificial stigmas are imperfect imitations of natural stigmas. With these artificial stigmas these women gain an increase in adaptability with Honkai energy but this comes at a terrible cost, shortening their lives, and there is also a risk that artificial stigmas will become unstable over time, thus causing a ripple effect on Valkyries. 

These women have a really painful life. They continue to fight on the battlefield against Honkai to protect people even though they risk being killed by Honkai beasts and zombies. But that's not just what makes their lives tragic, the vast majority of Valkyries that depend on Artificial Stigmas sooner or later will be corrupted by Honkai energy, because of that or their bodies are reduced to dust because of Honkai energy or they end up turning into zombies and so they will end up being killed by their companions.

Most women who become Valkyries are girls who have been victims of Honkai, whether by Honkai beast attacks or even small-scale Honkai eruptions these women will be infected with Honkai and from there they have two choices. Accepting the implantation of artificial stigmas to prolong their lives but to do that they will need to fight Honkai. The other option is to stay in a hospital and stay on a long useless treatment until they die from Honkai disease. 

Theresa Apocalypse created the St. academy. Freya to train these girls to become excellent Valkyries but unlike Schicksal they have a more relaxed and cheerful atmosphere for these girls. 

While Schicksal has the motto, destroy Honkai to protect humanity. 

St. Freya has the motto of, fight for everything that is beautiful in this world.

After the Second War Honkai Theresa took over the Schicksal Far East branch. The St. Academy. Freya was built in the city Soukai.

The family relationship between her and Otto has been distancing itself over time after the Second Honkai War. After all, it was because of the experiments in the Babylonian tower that the second Herrscher was born. And it was because of that war that her dear friend Cecília Schariac died. 

At least that's what she remembers. 

"Now then, grandpa... What do you want from me? I'm sure you called me at this hour just to say hi, right?" Theresa spoke while she crossed her arms, she tried to give the impression of being a mature person to Otto but he saw that there was a manga hidden among the documents on her table, thus destroying any mature image she was trying to have.

Otto was just smiling when he saw this. Despite all the horrible things he has done and that he may be prepared to do in the future, he still considers Theresa to be his dear granddaughter. And he also sees no problem with her having fun reading some manga, after all, from his point of view, Theresa is still a child and therefore it is okay to have fun like that. A few years from now, even if Theresa chooses to rebel against Otto, he will simply face it with her rebellious phase that is beginning.

Theresa asked with curiosity, although she was almost sure that it was Anti-Entropy that stole Serenity after all they are an organization focused on technological development, they use robots or mechs to fight Honkai without involving humans in direct battle. 

Theresa is also relieved to know that Serenity Gem's whereabouts have been found, because that way Schicksal scientists and researchers will be able to have some rest after the slave labor that Otto put on them. After Serenity Gem was stolen, Otto called 3,500 Schicksal researchers and forced them to work incessantly to find the tracks of those who stole Serenity Gem. They had to work day and night without rest. 

'Well, at least now they can get some rest.' (Theresa )

"Grandpa, do you want me to go to Schicksal headquarters so I can join the group that will recover Serenity Gem?" Theresa asked, she could already feel that this was the reason for Otto to speak to her.

"There is no need for you to come here, Theresa. I'm actually calling you because some Valkyries and I will be going to the Far East, in a few minutes I will get on the aircraft. We will go to St. Freya and after that you will come with us to the city Nagazora." ( Otto )

"So Serenity Gem in the city Nagazora? Does that mean that Anti-Entropy stole Gem?" ( Theresa )

"No, it wasn't the people at Anti-Entropy who stole Serenity Gem..." Otto had a fun and lively smile on his face when he remembered what happened before and he is full of expectations for tomorrow. 

"Who stole Serenity Gem was a Herrscher." 

Otto simply dropped a bomb on the conversation and liked Theresa's expression of surprise. 

'Will I finally be able to meet Kallen again.' These were the main thoughts in Otto's head.

The next morning. At Ryusuke's house. 

Fu Hua who was sleeping on the sofa in the living room of Ryusuke's house woke up. She had a lot of headache.

"Agh! ... But what happened? And where am I?..." 

Fu Hua was confused for a moment because he didn't know where she was but the next moment she remembered everything that happened last night. 

"So you finally woke up. I was already wondering if I should wake you up myself."

Fu didn't know why but she kept her mouth open when she saw Yae Sakura. She felt this woman with cherry-colored hair she was familiar with but she couldn't say exactly what, her memories were very confusing.

As for Yae Sakura, she looked at Fu Hua with suspicion, caution and a little hostility as Fu Hua broke into Ryusuke's room last night. And she didn't know what Fu Hua's purpose was in doing that.
