That was existence on totally another level, so Reylin should've expected much more skills from him.
One of them should be some defensive mechanics around the real body, but Reylin was in a good mood.
He also looked down on the necromancer.
Trapped in the dark cage, Reylin checked his status.
[The Dark Matter is eating your mana.]
It was like a poisonous fog that had been eating his mana ever since Reylin entered here. That fog also turned into thorny veins that tied Reylin in one place and made him pinned down in one spot.
Thorns slowly took off his HP.
The necromancer went for a simple method that was debilitating. It would leave Reylin with no mana and health points, and just a flick of his fingers would be enough to end Reylin's life.
Since Reylin was cursed by the ascended, The Necromancer wouldn't waste such a perfect resource! No one knew what kind of plans bloomed within his hoodie, but Reylin needed to clear his way from this predicament.
Suicide wasn't an option, and logging off would be the worst.
Reylin decided to research dark matter.
He was never this close to this mana.
"If Callan is right, then this is yet another mana from some race. The Ascended are just being looked down on by someone," Reylin chuckled.
He imagined that the first world quest was the dark matter's conquest, then the second would be the second layer and beast races enslavement... At least, something similar to that.
Players would have an option to support the ascended or the beast, all to their preferences.
Reylin naturally would side with the second layer inhabitants due to his encounter with Milkyona. Of course, those were his thoughts based on what he had gone so far, and no one knew what future had prepared for him.
Reylin stared at the poisonous fog, "The Dark Matter is adaptable. There are countless monsters made out of these..."
A specter didn't even seem to possess dark matter, but that shouldn't be the case with how the world made the dark matter be.
"A dark fire matter... There are monsters with such flames..." Reylin narrowed his eyes. "To make a fire out of the dark matter. That should be my job."
It sounded absurd and impossible.
Not only did the dark matter belong to someone else, Reylin barely had close contact with it. He was at the chapter first of the whole world quest, and he simply lacked knowledge.
However, he smiled, "It created skills on my own. That is not impossible for me."
Many things were impossible for Reylin as he was limited by his experience and level. What he aimed for didn't seem so, and Reylin was in high spirits as he started trying to conquer the dark matter through his pyromaniac skill.
He would make a fire out of it and convert it into his mana.
Then, he would kill the necromancer from a close distance with his legendary flames!
That was Reylin's vision, and he aimed for it.
Time flew by.
It was hard to guess how much time had passed, but Reylin wasn't worried about anything, even his safety.
His system didn't tell him about Emilia's death, so she must have been fighting all this time. He wouldn't even mind if she gave up on the battle and hid somewhere in the dungeon.
Similar to Reylin, Emilia was aware that he was alive.
That he didn't die and respawn somewhere else!
Her heart trembled just initially, and that was a natural reaction due to her care for Reylin.
And time ticked further...
At some point, Reylin felt a little anger sprouting within his heart.
He didn't seem to get any effect, and it seemed like he was staring into his own doom... That anger reminded him about the emotion behind his Fire Heart.
'Fire Heart...'
For a second, Reylin imagined the dark matter's fire to be part of his fire heart. That would undoubtedly poke the ascended he had met and mock her further.
The idea was excellent, and Reylin chuckled, but he suddenly realized something... crucial, "Fire Heart and its blueprint... All items... All flames... Would that be my own fire heart?"
His heartbeat increased, and Reylin paled.
He began sweating profusely, and his smile became a little self-mocking, "Laughable... Since when did I follow this fucking game?"
In his mind, the words Reylin utterly despised rang out.
'Your brother is known as a miracle doctor! Your second brother is the best lawyer! Your third brother is the most popular artist! And you?! And you are-'
"Crown... Reylin... My flames... are my foundation... All I need is my fire! Ahhhhhhhh!"
-
"Has he gone mad?" The necromancer heard the howls and turned his eyes toward his dark cage.
His lips curved into a sinister smile, "Those players are too soft... Not even an hour passed, you weakling."
He looked down on Reylin.
Anyone would've thought that Reylin had gone mad because of dark matter and its poisonous fog. That predicament was impossible to go through, and it would slowly eat his body and mind.
That toil was too much for players who had never been trapped in such a cage. Should any player have claustrophobia, they would probably go mad in just a few minutes. An hour in such a place also would cause one to develop this phobia.
He even took off his hoodie and exposed his ugly face and skin! His laughter boomed across the whole battleground and his undead army's morale heightened!
It also affected Emilia and her allies as it was clear that something had happened to Reylin.
And it really did.
But what happened was not what everyone, including the necromancer, imagined.
The necromancer was just about to see it, "Is he not in a frenzy?"
A faint crack spread on the dark cage, and its light pinched the necromancer's eye. That crack brimmed with bright sunshine, and one could only imagine how much 'light' had been stuffed within!
The whole cage burst out in a few seconds and revealed a man standing with his stats full.
[Rey Flames Lin Lv. 62]
"You have... overcome the dungeon's suppression?" The Necromancer asked as he noticed the status first.
His dark matter allowed him to bypass that suppression!
As the flames dispersed, the necromancer stared at Reylin and his 'new form'.
Flames constantly came out from his eyes and mouth. He breathed those and saw everything in the red world...
That wasn't just an appearance, but a new kind of ability!
Fire Heart: Wrath!
Reylin mostly felt wrath when he couldn't muster his flames.
His Fire Heart: Wrath gave him his own mana and developed an ability to create flames wherever he wanted!
His finger rose... "Fireball."
[-5401 HP!]
A fireball formed around the necromancer's ugly face. It quickly exploded as if it couldn't stand his disgusting face, slapping him with lethal warmth!
The necromancer's eyes expanded in disbelief.
Such kind of mana control shocked him no end, and he failed to register a loss of his HP!
Reylin sneered, and his lips looked much more wicked with flames leaving his mouth. His flames went up, just like the fire out of his eyes!
He chuckled, "Crown's Mana. I like the name. Right now, I can produce 100 mana... And The Red Sky costs me 30 Crown Mana each... Hmm."
"You've created your own... mana? And just 30 mana for this ridiculous skill? What kind of system do you use?" The Necromancer whispered.
Reylin swept his hand behind, and three pillars rose on the battleground! Those pillars were made out of his mana, and their might and appearance were different than before.
His legendary skill was still scarlet, yet it eclipsed any sunset in the world!
Those pillars devoured the undead army, leaving the necromancer speechless!
However, he didn't let the stupor take over him.
"Dark Ghosts Rush!" The Necromancer shouted.
He conjured an army of his own ghosts, and they promptly rushed at his opponent.
Reylin flicked his fingers and gathered the leftovers of his three legendary skills, "That's another thirty mana."
Alas, he couldn't make the legendary skill out of these.
That was fine, however.
Reylin aimed the leftovers at the necromancer, and his flames turned into stars falling onto the impending ghosts!
BANG! BANG! BANG!
"You will die today," Reylin threatened as his fire bypassed him.
He also stepped forward and slowly closed up distance with the necromancer!
His flames battered the dark matter skill with a clear advantage. In just a few breaths of time, Reylin found himself standing before the necromancer whose name he wasn't even aware of until now.
He smirked, "Loser."
"If you kill me, consequences will destroy more than half of your kingdom! Even if you are one of those players who just mindlessly fight and fight, you still should possess someone you treasure here! Imagine them dying! Haha!" The necromancer hysterically shouted.
"Oh, you will let your toys out? I don't care... If this kingdom falls because of you, then it was nothing worth protecting. Still, I will try to protect it, for I treasure promises," Reylin shrugged and pointed and grasped the necromancer's head, "Your dark matter will come in handy. It already did."
"PYRO-" The necromancer barked for the last time, yet he died before saying whatever he wanted.
Flames gnawed on his face and quickly ate his brain.
[You have killed...]
[You have leveled up...]
[You have...]
[You have...]
[Main Quest has been updated.]
Reylin stared at those messages with a stoic expression.
Inwardly, he pondered about the unfamiliar feeling he felt during his fire heart creation... It felt like he felt many eyes looking at him.
