The church forces had finally arrived on the scene.
Led by a man in long robes with a golden cross etched on its back, a force of more than five hundred believers had gathered!
A few players meshed within those ranks as they wholeheartedly worked with the ascended.
Those forces would never work together in the past, but dark times hit stronger than anyone predicted.
For today's expedition, Changnam's believers took the reins.
That was precisely the man at the helm's position.
"Have you heard that roar?" Lioness asked as she turned her eyes toward the church's leader.
His name was Kyle.
Kyle's eyes rose, and he nodded, "That was the sign that the abomination had regained control over its body. It will soon come out and indeed march toward the Blue Rose Kingdom. It is in our interest to prevent that.
Has anyone scouted the area? Those dark matter scum should be around here," Kyle spoke with unconcealable hatred.
Those bastards were probably somewhere around, if not inside the dungeon.
"We should find them first before the abomination comes out."
"But that's impossible, isn't it? They have so many means."
"True..."
As the talks unfurled, Reylin shifted his eyes to the church believers, "Do any of you have knowledge about that beast?"
"We will tell you all we know," Kyle said confidently, "But I agree with your people. Finding those dark matter people is akin to impossible. We will spread Magic Formations around the dungeon and immediately batter it down with our whole force the moment it comes out!"
"Got it," Reylin nodded.
He and all the important players gathered around Kyle.
He passed them all the information he knew about the abomination through the system. That system message soon flashed in all players' eyes.
Meanwhile, his people scattered around the dungeon.
They began channeling some kind of force unique to the church believers.
Since Reylin's side also had a few priestesses and people from the church, they confirmed the force's origins and its purpose.
They then went to assist their temporary allies.
Reylin scrutinized the drawing that came out from the united believers.
That drawing encompassed the whole dungeon, becoming the box, shining with golden light. Although Reylin saw blue mana, he also saw golden mana unique to the ascended.
It went without saying that those people from above would lend some power in such a plight!
RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!
And at last, that beast awoke wholly!
The dungeon shook and opened like an enormous coffin, spitting out undead after undead.
Zombies and skeletons flew in all directions, but that was when they faced their first stop!
The church's formation stopped them, then turned into stone figures!
They dropped from the sky and shattered into pebbles!
That process lasted for a few minutes before the ghosts took the reins! They controlled the undead's flight and gathered them en masse on the ground.
"How are you going to deal with the church's formation?" Reylin asked as he glanced at the ghosts gathering like commanders.
Each possessed their skills from the past.
However, the ghosts became much stronger than ever before! They no longer had to participate in the area to get their skills back! With the seal gone, their abilities returned, and their will to return to the living being heightened within them.
Their plan was to take over residents and begin a new life!
As for the church's formation?
Well... Their hope was only The Abomination!
The abomination also felt the formation, so before it came out from the dungeon...
It roared...
Roared with a devastating lion's howl that shook the whole formation!
Kyle's eyes widened, "That was just a roar..."
That roar weakened the formation's defenses by at least seventy percent! Now, anyone from the inside or outside would be able to erase it should they have enough power!
The question was whether those undead possessed enough power!
Kyle raised his hand, "We need more mana!"
He requested more mana from his new allies.
Lioness and Ferocious Bear agreed, but they naturally held back with their reserves! Around twenty percent of their guild members passed mana to the formation, solidifying and increasing its defenses.
To no avail, however!
That new portion of mana fended off just ghosts and undead below them.
The abomination still felt the formation's presence. Its long snake tail popped out from the dungeon's depths.
That tail had a snake head, and its eyes looked around the gathered forces.
It stopped on Reylin, then hissed at him.
"Not interested... Stay deep in your shithole," Reylin replied with a smile.
The Abomination heard him, however.
Its snake head hissed again, then rose up to the sky! It bumped into the formation, then shattered the ceiling as if nothing.
Kyle's whole body floundered.
The snake didn't stop.
It slammed its head into formations' sides, erasing mana with its skin. Its eyes gleamed with taunt before disappearing to the dungeon's depths.
Naturally, the ghosts and undead didn't stay idle!
They all rushed at gathered players!
Lioness unsheathed her sword, "We didn't have time to level up properly, did we? It's fucking time, boys and girls! Erase all those undead, and let's catch up!"
"Yes, Ma'am!" The guild members shouted in tandem, then followed their fearless white-haired commander!
Maya did the same, and both girls took over the front with their swords shining in their unique colors and skills.
Reylin turned his eyes to Layla, "Let them level up first, then use Grand Magic. Keep an eye on the surroundings."
"Are you going?" Layla asked her boyfriend, who was far from mage nowadays.
Was he always mage, though?
She chuckled and eyed his smiling face...
"I have to make sure people with fire skills survive," Reylin chuckled back at her, then left his camp after planting a kiss on her lips.
Layla shifted her eyes after Reylin's back disappeared from her sight, "The Abomination... If rumors are true, then the ascended used countless treasures to defeat it... It has been revealed that the ascended Changnam actually just sealed the beast... Eh, why do you have to be so disappointing?"
Layla's belief in the ascended had long since plummeted.
