The third leader had impressive stats and the ability to float in the sky!
That ability was too strong for the newbie players, and even archers with long projectile skills couldn't scratch the archmage.
They were all left helpless and forced to deal with the monsters on the ground.
Many believed the boss would enter the second phase and descent from the sky should all the monsters get cleared.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Reylin's flames brightened the mood for the majority as they believed he would bring down the third wave leader at any time soon!
That was rare and certainly unexpected relief blooming within their hearts.
The Hero and Vis' combination was also excellent.
Vis had danced with Reylin for some time, which helped him follow the fast hero whose agility was pretty high. She wasn't as crazy as Reylin, and Vis appreciated it greatly. These three were the differences!
Players believed they would be able to help them clear the third wave and finally leave the hell! They worked together like best buddies, and the situation got better just in a few clashes.
The red projectiles stopped, but that was sole because of Reylin.
He used his other class, The Black Rose's Shadow, and its skills to hide in his flames. He also possessed enough mana control to throw the fireball straight to the sky and hurt the skeleton!
In the beginning, the third leader followed its master instructions, and he aimed a few more projectiles at Reylin. He also personally controlled them to increase the accuracy! He possessed just three skills, and one of them was passive even!
That was because he flew, and it was his limitation.
Of course, in the Faynom World, it was explained a little better.
The Archmage Skeleton was the prototype. It was bound to have some limitations because of the inexperience of its caster.
The players thought differently, and they believed it was the game that nerfed the boss.
The game ought to help their players a little, right?
"I will find you," After those cold words, the Red Moon skill spat more projectiles into the flames where Reylin hid.
Even if he could hide well, the skeleton would force the pyromaniac to appear once the fire disappeared!
Reylin wasn't worried about those, however.
"It's high mana and floating ability is a pain in the ass," Reylin narrowed his eyes, and he formed a few scenarios against the skeleton.
But aware of his limits, Reylin didn't try anything rash. He was utterly calm in his flames, and after deep consideration and thinking, he reached out for his new friend and Vis.
He sent them a message, then whispered, "Showtime, but with the crowd. How rare."
-
After Maya received Reylin's message, she was less focused on the monsters, and her eyes often peeked at the skeleton.
That existence was stark mad, and it kept focusing the flames more with each second.
It lowered the players' burden, and all of them sighed with relief.
That relief eluded Maya as she was looking forward to Reylin's plan. It was crazy and rather impossible for a new player, but she had a strange feeling he would be able to do it.
Her big eyes often reflected the skeleton's form, and at last, the fireballs exploded within the sky!
Reylin sent those from below, and he revealed his location in this way. A myriad amount of red projectiles went toward him, but he answered those with his fireballs and flamethrower!
The flames splashed so much that the waves formed, and soon, the flame ocean utterly devoured Reylin.
He sent another batch of the fireballs, and those exploded mid-air irregularly, going all the way toward the boss.
"Utterly pointless! You can't get me with those!" The skeleton roared.
However, his voice abruptly stopped, exactly after Reylin revealed himself from the fireballs. The reason for their irregular explosions was because of him hiding with those. His cooldown was really low, and after throwing for so long, Reylin's fireball leveled up in Rank, and he received No Cooldown Buff.
That allowed him to form the impossible, and the flames stretched out their forms toward the sky!
For now, the sky remained dark!
But as Reylin revealed himself, he formed the fireball before his foot, kicked it away, and flew toward the skeleton!
He caught the skeleton and tightly held him so that both of them floated within the sky.
"You made me exercise so much, but I've been blessed by the flames. No cooldown buff. That sounds so sweet, doesn't it? Haha!" Reylin laughed directly into the skeleton's skull.
The boss belatedly reacted, "You must have been born with mana!"
"I believe not," Reylin licked his lips, his eyes down.
"Your origin matters not as that's your end! You thought you would bring me down to the ground?!" The boss roared, but the forest became too bright, even for his empty eyes, and his chin went down.
He saw the thousand and even more fireballs and other fire techniques going toward him!
Were those players aiming for him? Of course not! Those fireballs were all for Reylin, and he would use them for something close to grand!
"I can use fireballs through my hands and even legs. Now, I want to try using this technique... with my whole body! That sounds so satisfying! How will it feel once I achieve it?" Reylin whispered, his voice jarring to the skeleton's ears.
That skeleton possessed three skills.
The Red Moon was impossible now because it would hurt him, and the fire techniques started bombarding him already! The second skill was a passive one, and it made him immortal.
Just for a while, though.
Immortal because his high mana was what dropped first rather than HP. Those were absurd numbers for new players, and no one would mind the skeleton calling himself immortal!
No one, except Reylin!
The third skill was related to monsters, and that was utterly useless now!
The hero instructed every player, and they believed in her after seeing how close she was with the pyromaniac. Of course, no one doubted the pyromaniac due to his title and the actions he'd done so far.
After the closest players let out their fire techniques, others followed, and many fire bombs bombarded the duo.
At last, Reylin's flames from the forest followed suit.
The players' fire techniques drew them higher, then they felt their master heating up in the sky! The whole forest's flames extended their grasp toward him, and a small pillar formed in the middle of the dark zone.
Reylin's body shuddered, and he whispered, "I love flames... so much..."
He was getting excited, his body warm! His heart was like lava, however, waiting for more flames to come to him!
The fireball used by Reylin's whole body was much greater than the usual one.
His whole body was the container, and he could use all his mana!
Reylin felt like he could achieve more on this special occasion. After all, the first was always the most memorable and unique one! The flames going his way felt like his and yet not, so Reylin got a feeling he would be able to connect his fireball body explosion with those flames!
Who knew? Maybe the players' techniques would get used by him more than just as fuel.
"You can't do this! This is utterly impossible!" The Skeleton said, but his whole bones had been crackling ever since Reylin revealed his plan.
He trashed, to no avail.
He screamed, to the pyromaniac's content!
He wailed to the players' morales!
"IMPOSSIBLE, I SAID!" The Skeleton howled, his voice reaching the ground.
Everyone wanted the pyromaniac to succeed as it would end the arduous dark zone! Their expectations rose higher after his screams, and a lot of players cheered for Reylin!
He didn't listen to them, his head filled with fire.
"Utterly this, utterly that... Do you know what is utterly certain?" Reylin asked, his hand going up!
Since Reylin had been holding the skeleton from behind, the empty sockets followed that hand no problem...
"The Red Sky..."
[You have achieved a great combination!]
[The Legendary Skill - The Red Sky - has been formed.]
[You have scratched the legendary threshold!]
[You receive +100 INT, +500 MP, and the fire mana shield skill.]
[Your fire abilities rank up by one.]
"Hahahahaha!"
The laughter activated the new skill. The legendary ability embraced all flames around its user, causing the explosion the Faynom World rarely saw. That explosion erased the sound and drew the attention of all players.
Reylin and the boss were nowhere to be found.
The dark sky cleared, which was because of the boss' demise. It didn't remain free for too long, however. The flames finally left a dent in the sky, turning it red as if it was time for sunset!
Reylin finally emerged from the flames, and he fell together with flame projectiles.
Those dropped on the monsters faster than him, killing them and raising his kill count. However, the master of those fireworks was quite worn out, and he had no stamina or mana to save himself.
Vis looked around, "Where's the hero?" He chuckled and turned toward the monsters.
As for the hero, her high agility went toward falling Reylin. Although she was pretty fast, Maya had never thrown herself for the falling guy, to say nothing of having such speed! She ended up bumping into him, but that helped with saving Reylin's life.
Both of them rolled on the ground until Maya lay on Reylin.
She blinked toward countless system messages mentioning the dark zone's end and its rewards, but those searched for Reylin's face. With her on him, it was just a matter of seconds.
His eyes were clear, with no system message within.
Those eyes reflected the red sky, and Reylin whispered, "So satisfying." He didn't need anyone's opinion. It was a perfect red sky caused by him! A sight he would never see on Earth and something he grew to like on the spot.
Reylin made sunset!
Even fireworks on Earth wouldn't have achieved such a feat, and so he grew to like the Faynom World even more!
Maya also put the messages aside, and her eyes rose to the sky.
She giggled, "That's a fantasy pyromaniac! A pyromaniac no one would look down on! Ah, but that was so crazy and throbbing! Your abilities are beyond unique! If you start streaming, you will be so popular, even more than the current ones!"
The hero was pretty excited.
"Streaming? I lack neither fame nor money," Reylin chuckled, "Hmm... But some of my own income wouldn't hurt. That's a thought for the future, however. I want to see this game's development."
"Eh! Why do you sound so serious? Don't be such a killjoy! Let's check the rewards!" Maya threw a weird glance at Reylin, then opened her system rewards.
Her window was available to Reylin's eyes, and he glanced at her rewards.
Both of them checked and shared their rewards, in a good mood rather.
Vis joined them slightly after.
He and Maya's teammates looked at the duo with different expressions.
Vis started, "The hero? It's unsightly for a lady to saddle the person she met for the first time."
"Eh?" Maya looked down.
"What? You noticed just now?" Reylin asked, his eyes stoic.
The hero's babyface lit up, and her lips quivered, trying to say something. In the end, Maya slowly climbed off Reylin and took a seat next to him.
She took a rather serious position with her back straight and knees tightly glued to each other. Her hands clutched her pants, and she kept her eyes down!
"I am sorry..." At last, Maya said something.
That blushing face was as red as the sunset, though Reylin kept that to himself as it would cause much more misunderstanding.
