Reylin clicked his tongue, "Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I, for sure, will ask my lady before trying out various positions in the future."
"Mmm. Good boy," Lioness nodded with a smile.
At that point, the environment changed.
The clouds darkened, and the rain dropped onto their faces. The whole battlefield became submerged in it, and it seemed like the heavens favored Lioness.
In that environment, Reylin's flames surely would soon fade away.
"You can't come close enough, can you?" Lioness voiced out her thoughts, "If you do, I will apply another bleeding. It's just one wound, and it is that much of a problem, right? Imagine if I somehow left a few more scratches on you.
In our current setting, it's a stalemate. I can only wait for either you or your flames to lose. Otherwise, you would have treated the wound and attacked me as recklessly as you did before.
Since you haven't done it and lowered to another sneaky attack, you can't treat your wound with whatever you have in your inventory."
"It seems like we both like to talk," Reylin said, but he shook his head, "Correction. We like to explain what's going on as if everything is in our hands. That is a feeling of authority, I guess? We might have more in common, Lioness.
Ah, correction, Aria."
"Oh, you didn't like me calling you sweetie? Not many have had that much intimacy from me," Lioness laughed without taking any step forth.
In that stalemate, Lioness benefited the most from just talking.
It seemed like Reylin understood it as he coated himself with flames and stepped forth. His steps continued while he spoke, "I wouldn't look for intimacy on the battlefield. Since I am about to lose, I might as well benefit the most from this situation.
Aria, I ask for your consent. Please, allow me to get closer to you so I can blast that face of yours."
"You can try," Lioness said, then grasped her sword with her two hands.
Reylin smiled widely, then recklessly threw himself into the challenge.
For Lioness and anyone watching the battle from either the stream or battlefield, it seemed like Reylin had lost his composure, and he just wanted to dance with that woman!
The Lioness' victory was just a matter of time!
That was what many inferred!
However, Reylin's dance, once he dropped his caution, was also a sight one wouldn't forget for years.
His punches, kicks, and flames howling around him engraved something within their hearts, and that was simply fear.
A fear toward this pyromaniac once he lost his edge, "Hahahaha!"
Reylin used various techniques he had learned from martial arts club activities, and he added his special; the fire. He was impressive, really.
But many also praised Lioness for defending each of those strikes!
Her hair just burnt a little, but that was a small price for the feat she had achieved!
At last, Reylin stopped, and another break unfurled, "Done?"
Lioness asked, then added, "I would love to return to the battlefield. It's a stalemate in my favor, but we can end it fast and have some fun tomorrow. You are my prize, Reylin."
"Your... favor? Haha... Aria! If you thought that a mere rain could have extinguished my flames and snatched the victory out of my hands, then you are mistaken! I have been baffled by your ignorance all this time!
This dance was just a little activity to let out some of this infuriation!" Reylin howled amidst his laughter.
He raised his finger up, "Know the fire, woman."
Lioness didn't follow his gesture, but as the red shade extended itself on his face, her heart skipped a beat, and she raised her eyes to the sky.
A spiraling black staff hovered in the place of the dark clouds. Around that staff, the fireballs on a much bigger scale floated.
Aria's face paled, and she said, "Stalemate... is in your favor."
"Hahaha!" Reylin let out these fall and one big fireball aimed at him.
Their number wasn't high, but Reylin made an astonishing size by pouring more mana than before.
He hadn't given up on his desire to pour all mana into one skill, and he kept practicing. Although full mana blast was still impossible, giving more mana than usual wasn't as hard as before!
Those fireballs were big, and he chuckled, "I like them big, do you?"
"What are you talking about?" Lioness bit her lips in spite of joking, then distanced herself.
At least she tried to do so, but the fire whip appeared around her sword! That fire whip had been silent and invisible all this time, covered by Reylin's second class.
His smile kept growing wider as he revealed his cards, "Well. That was a weapon just in case you turned out to be tougher than expected. I can't look down on you due to what you've achieved on the battlefield.
However, if we are in a stalemate, we can only rely on a third party. Should the hero win together with her guild members, what would a commander such as you do? Nothing. You would have been ganged up by other members, and that's not something a woman like you wants.
Fear not, for I can be a gentleman from time to time.
I will blast your face instead." Reylin said with a bright smile.
Aria made quite a comical expression with her eyebrows raised and lips parted a little, "Don't let that fireball kill me. If I lose more than half of my hair, I will visit you in real life."
Reylin pulled her out of the fireball's destination like a gentleman.
She let her sword go, and that weapon landed in Reylin's inventory, "Imagine all those gossips. I would rather stay confined in my room."
And now, Lioness was just about in Reylin's reach.
He added, "I have your consent, and I am also a gentleman now. Which cheek?"
"Slap two at once, sweetie," Lioness sneered.
Reylin brought his hands in a flash, and he slapped Lioness without remorse.
Flames bounced from her soft skin, and a little of her white bangs burned out!
Reylin gave her a few more slaps, but Lioness didn't allow for that!
She kicked his leg and distanced herself, "Enough of the games. You've won."
"Thanks for playing with me," Reylin smiled widely while looking at Lioness, who began combing her hair, "The deal was quite baiting, wasn't it? Two clauses baited you, actually. No draw and 20% HP clause."
"I didn't find a gap in our duel," Lioness said while looking at her guild members dying in the deluge of flames, "I thought I would find the gap the moment you grasped my sword, but that failed. And then, I just didn't find anything else.
Still, I didn't think I would have lost.
Unfortunately, I just have that little annoying skill as of now."
"What exactly is that skill?" Reylin said as he looked at his hand.
It was healed since Lioness didn't consider him an enemy anymore.
She replied, "Once upon a time, I was disappointed that I was a girl."
"Huh?"
"I wanted to be a lion. Though that's impossible, and I've long since come to accept that, I still carry the same dream. Just not a lion, but Lioness." Aria said.
"Haha! Oh, we have even more in common. Has Vis told you? I don't have any unique class," Reylin sat down next to her, and their talk became even friendlier.
Lioness chuckled, "I believe it, knowing your achievements in real life."
"I am honored. Still, you just don't have one skill. What about that commander trait? Our contract didn't stop you from using your guild members." Reylin smiled as he asked her those questions.
Aria tilted her head and gave him an extra smile, "It's a game."
