Author’s Note: This chapter got a bit long, so I split it into two parts. Please enjoy.
With the adventurer registration finishing smoothly, I let out a sigh of relief. While I still didn’t have any money, having a way to verify my identity in this world gave me a sense of security with securing my livelihood here.
Next up was money!
“Excuse me. Is there a place where I can exchange money around here?”
I asked the employee, who still seemed to be curious about the kind of relationship that Marius and I had.
“You want to sell something?”
“More like currency exchange I think? I want to exchange this.” I took out my purse from my bag, and brought out a thousand yen bill from my wallet to show the clerk.
“This is money from my world, but it seems like I can’t use it in this world so I was hoping to exchange it somewhere.”
Seeing the thousand yen bill, her eyes lit up.
“Can I look at that for a bit?”
“Ah, yes that’s fine.”
Handing over the bill, she began to stare at it intently. She flipped it over, and looked at it from the side. Seeing the watermark in the middle of the bill – a light portrait used as a security feature – her eyes opened wide and sparkled brightly.
“Mina-san, rather than bringing this to a normal money exchange, it would be better to auction this!”
“Huh?”
“While it might have value as money in another country, with this exquisite picture, collectors would be drooling for the chance to get this!! Wow, it’s amazing!! Is it even possible to draw something that floats like this image in the middle?”
“I see…”
I was taken aback by her enthusiasm. I wonder if she’s the type of person who likes to see rare things.
“Let’s go to the appraisal office for auctions. I’ll lead you!”
“Eh, is it okay to leave the desk?”
“People usually come at this time, so it’ll be fine! If something is needed, they will ring the bell.”
Leaving the reception desk, she excitedly urged us to go and bounded ahead.

Marius and I exchanged looks, and followed after her in a disconcerted manner.
We entered a room that was much further inside the building compared to the reception desk.
More than a room, it was probably more accurate to call it a warehouse. It had a large feeling. A large workbench had several objects laying on top, and there were wooden boxes piled up in a disorderly manner lining the walls. Unlike the reception desk, where the only person was the clerk, a crowd of people were entering and leaving here. It seemed that there was some entrance besides the main entrance that led directly to this room.
“The counter that confirms missions you turn in can be found here. Once you’ve finished a suppression or material gathering request, you should come here. At the same time, you can directly sell the materials here, so… Ah, Reiner-san!!!”
In the middle of giving us an explanation, she called out a man with a small stature examining a fur pelt at the counter – or rather the workbench.
Without even looking up, the man curtly replied, “Rena, don’t bother me. I’m currently working.”
We didn’t know until now, but it seems like her name was Rena.
Without being fazed, Rena walked in front of the man, before responding “don’t say that Reiner-san! This time it’s definitely related to auctions! Here, have a look at this!” Saying that, she handed him the thousand yen bill that she was still holding.
As expected, the man raised his head upon hearing that, and he looked up at the thousand yen note with a frown. As soon as he saw it, his expression changed.
Placing the pelt in his hand on the table, he intently examined the bill.
“Oi, where is this from…”
“Didn’t I tell you!”
Seeing the surprise on his face, Rena pridefully puffed out her chest and laughed.
The man looked behind her and noticed Marius and me standing there.
“Wait a moment while I finish dealing with this,” he said while resuming the work that he was doing previously. Just like he said, he worked briskly, and quickly came back to us.
“Thank you for waiting. Rena, let’s go to that room over there.”
“Yes~”
Once again, Marius and I were moved to a different place.
