Chapter 19: Chapter 17-Castle

SO THAT’S WHY THE GUARDS WERE LIKE THAT!!. Also how John acted. He was quite literally a knight.

“Are you sure it’s fine for us to stay?” I asked

“It should be fine, you helped us get back early.” Leo answered. Sorry but it's more of a mental thing than being allowed.

“Alright let's go.” Alice said this and started walking to her “House”. We followed her.

“Hello princess, you are here early. ???!Halt, who are you with the princess!!!?” The guard at the door was cautious about us.

“It’s fine they helped us, but they don’t have anywhere to stay for now so give them a room.”

“I will have to ask your father if that's fine.”

“Well DO IT” Alice was really pushing for us to stay.

“I will get one of the maids. HEY COME HERE TABANTHA!!” soon and elderly women, which I assume is the head maid of the place, came.

“Get the king, we have some people Alice wants to stay over.” the guard said

“Of course, Come in everyone.” The maid went inside and we all followed.

“After a couple minutes we got to a room that has a huge door and went in. It looked like a church, except it was not very religious. When we got in, there was a person sitting on a throne. He was probably the king as he looked like he had a lot of authority.

“Hello Alice, Leo, John, and the three behind them.” Everyone else bowed except for me, all I did was shy away and hid behind Shinobu. It is really hard meeting new people.

“What are you doing kid, bow” the guard said.

“No it’s fine, she seems to not know what’s happening, she is a child after all.” The king said back, he seems really laid back.

“Anyways, what are you three doing here with my children and John?”

“Father, they helped us get back early, but they don’t have any money, and their parents are not here . Could they stay for the night?” Alice asked

“If they really are safe then that's fine. But they need to be in your room, I don’t want to give the maids extra work for one night. But that is not all it is.”

“Is it possible for them to enroll into the academy, until they leave the capital?” Alice asked, I really didn’t want to go to school again.

“Sure but they still need to take the exam, and pass it. Anyways, what are your names?”

Shinobu answered first of course. “My name is Shinobu Sanguine. And this is my sister.”

“Um, I’m Luna Tsuki. This person beside me is my spirit, Shiro.”

“STOP!!” the king shouted,  “Everyone but these three leave. Including you guys Alice.”

“But why? Is it important?” Alice asked.

“Yes this is something no one other than I should hear.” After the king said that, the three of them left reluctantly. “Alright, who are you really? There is no way a great spirit follows a girl”

"Uh it’s true though. She” Shiro cut me off. “You are correct I’m not a spirit, I’m the dark goddess Shiro.” The king looked at disbelief. He seemed like we was going through a library in his mind. He was just out of it for a couple seconds.

“Pleased to meet you goddess, I won’t tell anyone.” what was that change in tone?

“But who are the other two, they have different last names.”

“Shinobu, Luna, show them the mark please.” Shiro said.

“But how? It’s right there?” I asked

“It is in your status page that says settings.” Shinobu said, I opened it and there was a setting that said ‘Show non-transfers mark.’ I turned it on, but nothing happened.

“Wait what you are marked, That means that you came from another world, correct? This makes sense now, and are your parents marked too?”

“Yes sir, the four of us somehow all came together. But how do you know about this?”

“The skill every King gets when they are appointed is called ‘Great Library’. How it works is that everything a previous king “wrote” is in my mind as a mental library. I can go to that library and get any information I need. A previous book has stuff about both Ms.Shiro and the marked people.” So it works like what I assume ‘Dark connections’ would, but mine has everything while the king’s only things previous kings have seen.

“I will let you stay and take the exam, but you also have to become adventurers to help out in exchange as marked people have perks normal people have. Oh hide your marks, they are coming back in.” We did that and they came in. 

“Hey, I think they heard everything,” Shinobu said.

“We did not.” Alice retorted

“Luna do it” Shinobu whispered, I activated my skill.

“Did you hear what we are talking about?”

“Yes” they all said

“Forget everything you heard in here”

“OK”

“What did you do?” the king asked, looking intrigued.

“It is a racial skill, I can sort of use it as a persuasion or hypnotic when I feel like it. Actually, can I use it on you so you don’t have the ability to tell anyone unless we allow you to?”

“That seems like a good request. But what will happen? Will I become like those three?”

“No, they are just kind of in a weird state. In like 2 minutes they will be fine. Just forgot what happened here.” I activated the skill again. “You can not tell anyone about this unless we allow it.”

“Ok I think it worked, it feels like a push, but let's see.” the king rang a bell, soon a maid came in. “Did you know that-..., Interesting it’s like I forgot right when I was about to say, That was all you may leave.” After that the maid bowed and left. And Alice and crew woke up.

“What happened?” Leo asked

“What did we talk about earlier here?” I said with ‘Succuvoice’

“I don’t know we weren’t listening,” they said.

“Good I think it worked.” the king told us. This skill has a lot more use than I thought.

‘Notice: skills were unlocked, Skills ‘Calming words and ‘Alluring voice’ were achieved.’ I guess the requirement was to successfully persuade enough people huh.

I also have another hidden skill visible ‘Succubus magic’ this is probably what I use the energy I gained for. The requirement is to have enough in CHA. Thankfully I don’t need to actively put points into it.

“Well it's getting pretty late, John you should go to the knight dorm. Leo, Alice, take your friends to the dinning hall, dinner should be done and out.” We followed them to the dining room and there was a feast. Meats, veggies, drinks, desserts, and more. Shinobu and I didn’t eat much, Shiro didn’t at all, but Alice and Leo ate a lot. Where do they put that and not get fat?

“You can eat more,” Alice said.

“We don’t eat much and Luna has a special way to feed anyways.” Shinobu says. I felt embarrassed when she said that. But I’m too tired to care.

“Onee-chan let's go to bed” I begged

“Alright, where can we sleep?” Shinobu asked, putting me on her shoulders.

“Follow me.” the maid that was there said. I just barely stayed awake until we got to the room. Shinobu put me down and laid down beside me. I fell asleep in her arms.
