Seeing the devastation in her wake there was no way that Eel’s familiar laugh didn’t outshine even the miniature sun pressing down on them.

In contrast ‘Legion’ was practically no more as the surface of Promicarus’ armour melted under the intense energy being emitted that seemed to suppress everything’s ability to resist. Still neither Eel nor herself seemed too bad, considering the city destroying attack pushing them down into the earth. If the mountain before was unrecognisable, now it simply wasn’t a mountain but a gigantic circular creator with magma spewing out to quickly fill it.

A few straggler animal-golems could be seen silently falling into the magma as the undying-spirit girl could only silently watch with a tear in her eye. She was quite certain that there was no way she would be able to recover anything from this event - something made only worse by the laughter of her archrival. All things considered she could only close her eyes with a sigh as that sun finally let up with a final puff of ashen smoke that soon fell down to coat the entire area.

Meanwhile the two of them had been implanted quite lucky in the side of the caldera, fairly high up at that, else they would be submerged in the quickly developing rivers of molten minerals.

They weren’t completely safe as sometimes the sides would erupt into magma-falls to add to the quickly adapting topography. At least it was safer than being located at the bottom of the basin - plus neither were that worried about magma after what they went through. After all it was a little hard to calm down succeeding an attack of that scale going off right in front of them.

“So… Is she dead?” <Promicarus>

The failed villainess asked through heaving breaths despite the fact slimes clearly had no lungs.

“Who knows but I highly doubt it fufufu~!” <Eel>

“Well then… Thou art insufficiently perturbed for one who hast just rammed a possibly A-Class technique, likely higher if properly performed, into the face of the {True God}.” <Promicarus>

“Yea but isn’t that what was cool about it!” <Eel>

“Heh…” <Promicarus>

She couldn’t exactly refute that; from the view of a prospective Demon Lord was there anything quite as unequivocally cool as that?

The answer was no, no there was not.

With that neither of them shared anymore words as Eel also closed her eyes to just bask in the atmosphere of the whole thing. What she did might not exactly be considered the actions of a hero if one looked at it from the view of an average mortal; she literally attempted to kill the {True God} to defend a ‘demon worshipper’ even if the chance of said goddess actually dying being infinitesimally small. Wasn’t as if she did it in a particularly noble fashion either, not that she cared about anything like that.

If anything she couldn’t help laughing more at the thoughts of some religious fanatics hunting her down in order to put her on the cross. The thought of another fight against those who tried to keep her from moving forward brought a savage grin to her face - a grin that was more like that of a demon’s than a hero’s. Who said it wasn’t possible for a little monster like her to become a hero even if no one else believed in her?

She would just have to prove them wrong or die in a spectacular fashion trying; that way she would never again be overlooked  when someone mentioned legendary figures!

There was one person who was far less happy at the current situation, however, and the ash began to reveal her feelings. That once peacefully falling cloud of darkness began to swirl around angrily causing the earth to be dug up causing even more eruptions to occur within the hollow as. Deep within that hurricane of cinders a once gone head quickly reformed with those two eyes being the last thing to develop; their power only contained by a thin veil of flesh.

Although that barrier would not completely unseal a slither, so small most would not even recognise her opening them, of Mother's eyes were revealed. A vivacious gleam escaped to wash on the foolish girls below which was joined by a powerful suppression that caused the planet itself to shake. The sea churned, ground quivered while the sky began to darken as a downpour of rain signalled the gods displeasure.

Her ‘kind’ voice echoed out showing ‘amusement’ that would make anyone shiver with ‘joy’.

“Ohohoho~ you certainly are a rather naughty girl little Eel - slippery indeed - to think you would bite the hand that feeds you though… I must say that I am quite disappointed you would go against me for a piece of krill that you were supposed to eat. See this world has a natural order to it, no, nevermind. I would explain it here but we will have plenty of time to re-educate you once I have dealt with this.” <Mother>

With just her voice along the two felt their lungs bubbling up with blood that came up in a hurry due to the volatile mana expunged into the air.

Even despite being much stronger than Eel - Promicarus found herself unable to actually grasp her own energy. Something about the woman just opening her eyes a smidgen caused everything that could oppose her being suppressed completely. She still didn’t even seem to be particularly trying to get their effect either since it was clearly not her full potential as her eyes were still barely open.

This aura of suppression didn’t stop on just these two as even the streams of lava down below began to freeze up under the overwhelming pressure. In the Moolesh Mountain town all the windows began to shatter as the buildings themselves began to collapse. Foliage itself was the only thing that seemed to be benefiting as new life seemed to fill them causing greenery to sprout out from the (newly forming) cracks in the village's infrastructure at a rate visible to a mortal’s naked eye.

That was all beyond the pair of girls though; all they knew was that their insides were trying desperately to become outsides. In hindsight they were aware that the Mother was holding back during her fight however neither could have guessed she was holding back as much as she was since neither could move. Both were confident that it would have been exactly the same even should they have been in tip-top condition.

“Perhaps it isn’t the fact that you have been messing around with that {Heavenly Demon} powered spirit but instead the new breed of succubus? Although I am obviously very sympathetic to Elizabeth & her daughters' plight, they still are demons - we can’t have anything too selfish around you. That being the case I should perhaps visit that girl a bit, have her stop corrupting you to make foolish choices, one way or…” <Mother>

Everyone knew that when the {True God} said ‘visit’ that it wouldn’t be a peaceful one.

Desperately she searched within herself to try to find more power, any power, in order to stop that woman from doing what she thought she was going to. Sure enough she found nothing yet that didn’t stop Mother from turning her gaze toward the city where she seemingly waved a finger casually. That casual act was enough for the embers around them to turn into some gargantuan snake-like apparition that bore its fangs on the town.

She knew she had to stop, that nothing was offering anything to help her with that… That made her angry, some may say… Violent.

Within that desperation there came a spark as her one sapped flames began to grow as if ignited by her desire to protect. Seemingly those flames didn’t care about the fact they only knew how to destroy. At this moment those flames rose with the intention to protect those close to her no matter what costs it may demand from her.

Clenching her teeth she managed to glare towards the woman as those embers quickly began to generate a bonfire in her heart. She didn’t understand how but those purple flames began to surge from her muscles; a voice angrily whispered in her ear that matched with every time those flames danced as if they were speaking to her. She didn’t know who it was but based on the words she was inclined to listen to them as they thoroughly summed up her own thoughts.

A soft guttural growl left her mouth through her blood stained fangs as those destructive flames began to pour between the gaps. Instead of the usual eye patterns that she generated when using her power - a sickly green glow formed in her eyes. However, this power was beyond anything she had called upon before, still she had no chance to call upon it.

Even with her anger & desperation fueling those flames her eyes could only flicker with that unknown green light.

An unknown white ‘goop’ began to pour out from her mouth, nose & eyes while her hands reached out to clasp the side of the hole she was buried in. Under the weight of her rage the rock crumpled like paper as a savage yet wrathful smile formed on her face - containing an endless amount of madness. Seeming as if the only thing she would be satisfied was bathing in the blood of her opponent; made all the more clear by an inhumane screech that left her mouth.

Strangely that made Mother give pause as she turned her gaze away, slowly, to look upon the figure of Eel through the ash.

“Now that is interesting… Not enough to play with the grown ups though…” <Mother>

It was subtle but seeing that green glow made Mother’s tone of voice change as that snake no longer aimed towards the town… Instead it turned its head to charge towards her. Just when she was preparing for one last stand a large rough hand pressed against her eyes as the same familiar voice that taught her how to use a sword filled her ears.

“You’ve done enough brat; let the adults play now.” <Bloodleaf>

With that she drifted off among a cacophony of sounds that could only be described as ‘Chaos’ but at least a chaos where Mother wasn’t winning…
