This spear contained Xi Haizi’s dao intent, so if he took the spear back and carefully observed it, he should be able to attain valuable enlightenment in the dao of water.
However, the person most suitable to be the spear’s owner was actually Lan Xiaoni, who was a member of the Spirit Fish Clan just like Xi Haizi…
He thought for a moment before making his way over to Lan Xiaoni and handing over the spear to her.
Lan Xiaoni had her hands folded over her smooth, flat stomach as she lay silently in the coffin, and she stared blankly at An Lin with her clear blue eyes, seemingly in a bit of a daze.
“What? This spear…”
An Lin grabbed one of Lan Xiaoni’s slender hands and wrapped her fingers around the spear. “Take it. This spear belongs to you anyway, and I was only safekeeping it for you. Observing the power within it will be greatly beneficial to you.”
Lan Xiaoni blushed at having her hand held by An Lin, and she instinctively nodded.
However, she then seemed to have realized what this spear entailed. This was Xi Haizi’s inheritance!
Lan Xiaoni’s eyes widened in shock as she stared at An Lin. “You… you’re giving a treasure like this to me?”
An Lin nodded with a justified expression. “This is my reward for my underling’s exemplary performance.”
Lan Xiaoni gripped the spear tightly in her hands, and her heartstrings were violently tugged on as tears flowed from her eyes again. “Waah… Big Boss An Lin, you… you’re such a good person!”
An Lin nodded with a resigned expression at the crybaby mermaid princess before leaving her alone to vent her emotions.
He looked at the spatial passageway across the river of lava, which had still not dissipated, and a smile appeared on his face. “Looks like this tomb isn’t very friendly toward living beings from other races. I really want to know just how much power you left here…”
An Lin had already mentally prepared himself to bash the crap out of the Xi Haizi statue as soon as he got out of here.
If Lan Xiaoni had chosen to run, then wouldn’t he already be dead?
He couldn’t swallow this bitter pill without any retaliation. He was going to teach Xi Haizi a lesson!
He began to wander throughout this world, checking to see if there were any other treasures left behind here. Unfortunately, aside from the fire dragons that would pop up from the river of lava, there didn’t appear to be anything else worthy of note.
An Lin’s body was powerful enough to dive into the river of lava to survey the situation at the bottom. However, after diving to the bottom, he only discovered some abnormally potent fire essence, but there weren’t any treasures.
“Sigh, looks like the Sea Heart Stone is the only treasure here.” An Lin heaved a faint sigh.
He didn’t have anything to do after that, so he returned to the coffin and activated his Evergreen Technique to help speed up Lan Xiaoni’s recovery.
Rich green light lit up the entire space. Lan Xiaoni lay without a care in the world under the green light, and her eyes narrowed with happiness.
Was this the feeling of being loved and cared for?
“What a magnificent light,” Lan Xiaoni couldn’t help but praise.
An Lin: “…”
Another two hours passed.
Lan Xiaoni’s injuries were finally completely recovered.
The immortal pill, coffin, and An Lin’s second-stage Evergreen Technique was not a three-course meal to be scoffed at. As long as you weren’t actually dead, that terrific trio could bring you back from any grievous condition!
“Thank you, Big Boss An Lin! I’m fully recovered now!” Lan Xiaoni sprang out of the coffin with a dainty smile.
After what they had just been through, she was now a lot less fearful around An Lin and a bit more affectionate.
A smile appeared on An Lin’s face. “If you’re fully recovered, then let’s go back.”
“Sure!” Lan Xiaoni nodded obediently.
In reality, aside from the fact that Lan Xiaoni was a bit too brusque and straightforward, she was actually not bad to interact with.
“Come on, I’ll get us out of here.”
An Lin held onto Lan Xiaoni’s soft and warm hand as his six Divine Flames and one Holy Flame erupted at once, creating a thick suit of flaming armor around them that swept the poisonous clouds and scorching flames aside with ease.
The poison and flames that had almost killed Lan Xiaoni were nothing in the face of An Lin’s armor. Thus, they continued onward like an unstoppable force and had soon crossed over all of the obstacles in their way.
Lan Xiaoni turned her eyes toward An Lin, and she felt extremely at ease, as if she had nothing to be afraid of with him by her side.
After crossing through the river of lava, they both entered the spatial passageway that had been opened by Xi Haizi.
The space around them transformed, and they arrived back at the cavernous chamber again.

An Lin immediately pulled out his Evil-Slaying Sword at the sight of the Xi Haizi statue before letting loose a torrent of abuse.
“Stinky fish! I’m gonna f*ck you up!”
He immediately unleashed a sword strike toward the statue as he spoke.
An inky-black sword projection swept through the air like a crescent moon, surging forward with fearsome might.
Boom!
A blue enchantment barrier suddenly appeared to keep An Lin’s attack at bay.
The Xi Haizi statue suddenly spoke again, “Congratulations, fated ones, on passing the trial of the ball of light. I hope you can take this treasure to contribute to the development of your tribe!”.
An Lin glowered at Xi Haizi. “Senior Xi Haizi, how about you tell me why you tried to kill me in there? Has your moral compass been eaten by a dog?”
The Xi Haizi statue didn’t say anything. It stood silently on the spot as if it were just an ordinary statue.
An Lin chuckled coldly.
So it was pretending to be deaf now?
“Let’s go back, Big Boss An Lin. We’ve got all of the treasures anyway,” Lan Xiaoni persuaded in a faint voice.
She was actually still a little fearful of Xi Haizi. After all, the scene of An Lin being pinned to the Sea Heart Stone by Xi Haizi’s spear was quite a terrifying one.
She felt like they had gotten the treasures they came here for, so they should just swallow this bitter pill and leave.
However, that wasn’t what An Lin was thinking. He had almost died, and he was still fuming with rage.
He looked at the statue, which was staring directly ahead with making even the slightest movement.
An Lin suddenly snapped, “Xi Haizi is a stupid c*nt!”
Lan Xiaoni: “…”
Xi Haizi did not react.
An Lin did not let him off the hook that easily. “Xi Haizi has no dick!”
Lan Xiaoni: “…”
Xi Haizi suddenly turned to glower at An Lin. “Get the f*ck out of here!”
He glared at Lan Xiaoni as he spoke, as if he expected better from her.
Lan Xiaoni’s body trembled with fear, and she immediately hid behind An Lin.
Xi Haizi: “…”
An Lin was ecstatic at the sight of Xi Haizi’s dark expression.
Sure enough, having his treasures taken by someone from a foreign race did bother Xi Haizi after all.
“Xi Haizi, shouldn’t you be giving me some compensation for what you did to me?” An Lin didn’t leave and instead posed a question.
“Do you want to be pinned to the wall again?” Xi Haizi threatened in a cold voice.
An Lin spread open his arms with a cold sneer. “Come at me then! Do you really think I’m scared of you? You’re just a pathetic shred of residual energy! Let’s how long you can keep being cocky for!”
He gripped his sword in one hand and his mirror in the other as a taunting sneer appeared on his face.
The Xi Haizi statue was trembling from rage, and its hands opened and closed as if it was actually going to attack. However, its instincts told it that it would not be a good idea, and it suddenly calmed down.
“I apologize, An Lin. I have wronged you, and you might not believe this, but that was actually a part of the trial… Furthermore, you have taken all of the treasures here, and I really have nothing to give you as compensation. Please go now.”
Xi Haizi’s voice suddenly began quite gentle and genuine.
Lan Xiaoni was shocked as she stared blankly at the statue with her blue eyes.
Never would she have thought that An Lin would really be able to make the High Priest apologize.
An Lin nodded with a gleeful expression. “The compensation was never the point. Your attitude is the most important thing. See, that wasn’t so hard, was it? Sigh… It’s important to admit to and learn from your mistakes. Don’t let this happen again.”
The veins on the Xi Haizi statue’s head bulged with rage.
