The Starry Sky Formation was one of the Starfire Battleship’s most fearsome attacks.
Its power correlated directly with the power of the ship’s skipper.
In order to kill An Lin, the Star Dancer had elevated her power to the Return to Void Pinnacle Stage for a short time. Hence, this was the most powerful attack she was capable of unleashing using the battleship.
However, the final attack that she had pinned all of her hopes suddenly changed directions and swept toward her instead.
It wasn’t just attacking a random location on the battleship either, it was heading directly for her!
Within a golden energy crystal, a pink-tailed mermaid’s eyes widened with shock and horror.
“How?! He’s just a Soul Formation Stage cultivator! How could he detect my location?!”
The Star Dancer’s expression shifted drastically, and she could no longer remain calm.
She immediately activated an energy barrier to defend herself.
However, she was just a lone skipper with no one to help her, so how was a defensive barrier she had set up alone at the last minute supposed to defend her from the monstrously powerful Starry Sky Formation attack?
The defensive barrier exploded instantly.
The galaxy of stars continued onward with unstoppable force before finally crashing into the golden energy crystal.
Boom!
Energy exploded forth, and the entire battleship tremored violently as its blue light gradually dimmed.
Lan Xiaoni had her eyes tightly shut and had already prepared herself to be crushed by An Lin again, only to find that An Lin was standing resolutely before her, completely unscathed, like an immovable divine mountain.
“You can even reflect a spell technique this powerful? That’s… so bad*ss!” Lan Xiaoni opened her eyes and stared blankly at the scene presented before her eyes.
A faint smile appeared on An Lin’s face. “You find a place to hide, I’ll be back in a jiffy!”
Wings of Wind spread open on his back as he spoke, and he flew toward the center of the explosion at extreme speed.
An Lin flew into the battleship via the tunnel of annihilation left behind by the terrifying explosion before arriving at the center of the explosion. When he slashed his Evil-Slaying Sword through water, all of the turbulent waves were instantly scattered.
He heaved a long sigh of relief upon seeing the shattered golden crystal on the ground.
“I made the right gamble. This is the core of the battleship after all. She was bound to have a chink in her armor if she was going to operate such a massive battleship by herself…” An elated smile appeared on An Lin’s face.
If the core was a little more well-hidden, he might already be dead right now.
“But where’s the Star Dancer? Has she been blasted into crumbs?” An Lin looked around for the mermaid, but he couldn’t even find a single fish scale.
He picked up the golden crystal fragments from the ground. These things had extremely high energy densities, so they had to be useful for something.
An Lin searched the surroundings carefully before discovering a carving constructed from Deep Sea Blue Essence Wood under some fallen rubble.
The carving was only the size of a palm and bore an uncanny resemblance to the Star Dancer as it too wore a cold expression and held a fan in each hand.
Not only did it look like her, but even the residual aura within it was very similar to the Star Dancer’s aura.
An Lin: “…”
Did I almost just get killed by a tiny wooden carving?
“Come here, Underling Lan!” An Lin yelled.
Lan Xiaoni immediately flew toward An Lin from her hiding spot in the distance. “What is it, Big Boss An Lin?”
“What’s the deal with this thing?” An Lin tossed the wooden carving to Lan Xiaoni.
Lan Xiaoni caught it with a blank expression, and her eyes gradually lit up as she looked at it. “Wow… Such a beautiful wooden carving, and it looks so much like Senior Star Dancer too. Is this a present for me?”

The mermaid princess cupped the wooden carving in her hands with an elated smile on her face.
An Lin: “…”
“I’m telling you to analyze for me whether this thing has something to do with the Star Dancer!” An Lin snapped.
Lan Xiaoni came to her senses, and a blush appeared on her face before she turned to carefully appraise the Star Dancer wooden carving.
After a short while, she elaborated on her findings, “This wooden carving was constructed from the divine wood of the Spirit Fish Clan’s Hong Meng Sacrificial Altar. It looks like it was a vessel for her residual energy. Now that the Star Dancer’s residual energy has been vanquished by you, it’s just a useless piece of wood.”
An Lin faltered slightly upon hearing this before a mixture of elation and incredulity welled up in his heart. “So, that means that the Spirit Fish Clan mighty figure has already been defeated by me?”
“It looks like it.” Lan Xiaoni nodded in response.
An Lin also nodded with a sense of mixed emotions.
The victory had been too simple and caveman-like; he was finding it a bit difficult to accept.
He had thought that he would be able to engage in another fierce battle with the Star Dancer after she separated from the ship.
An Lin swallowed a high-rank regenerative spirit pill as these thoughts ran through his head.
“Wait! I have another question!” A panicked expression suddenly appeared on An Lin’s face.
“M-hm?” Lan Xiaoni turned to look at him.
“The Star Dancer was one of the most powerful mighty figures of her time and also the skipper of the Starfire Battleship. Hence, she should be the final BOSS of this world, right?” An Lin asked in a slow voice.
“Of course.” Lan Xiaoni nodded in response as a confused expression appeared on her face. “So, what are you trying to say?”
An Lin’s brows furrowed. “After vanquishing the final BOSS, shouldn’t we get teleported out of here? So…”
Lan Xiaoni’s mouth gaped open, and as her hand trembled, the wooden carving almost slipped out of her grasp. “We… we can’t go back?”
An Lin heaved a resigned sigh. “There are only two possibilities. Number one, we haven’t actually fought the final BOSS yet. Number two, Tian Chenji and Xi Haizi are shameless enough to change the rules of the trial in order to trap us here…”
Both of them knew that the possibility of the former being true was pretty non-existent.
The Star Dancer was already the most powerful being this world could facilitate.
Tian Chenji had said that it would use the power of this world to kill them. In reality, it didn’t have to kill them outright. It could just confine them here for the rest of eternity, and they would die eventually anyway.
An Lin and Lan Xiaoni were both struck by despair…
Lan Xiaoni let loose a torrent of abuse. “Hmph! They’ve already gone too far by thrusting this infernal-difficulty level trial on us, and now they’re even changing the rules so that we can’t go back even after killing our enemy? Are they that shameless? They bring disgrace to the title of High Priest and High Priestess!
“And they said we broke the rules! So what are they doing now? This is sheer hypocrisy, and the epitome of double standards! Sh*tty turtle! Stinky fish!”
She didn’t care about her agenda anymore. All she wanted to do was hurl more abuse at her ancestor!
She smashed the wooden carving into the ground as she spoke.
Bam…
The wooden carving was shattered by the enraged Lan Xiaoni.
A golden key then appeared before An Lin and Lan Xiaoni’s eyes.
An Lin was shocked. This wooden carving could drop an item?
Lan Xiaoni picked up the shiny golden key with a perplexed expression. “What’s this?”
An Lin took the key from her with an excited expression. “This must be the key to the seabed treasure vault!
“I’m taking the One Piece for sure!”
Lan Xiaoni: “???”
