The pill that had been slapped into the spell formation seemed to be a little dizzy as it flew unsteadily through the air.
After taking a moment to recover, it flew toward Chang’e again!
Splat!
Boom!
The pill crashed into the spell formation again.
“That divine pill is a lot like you,” a voice suddenly sounded from beside him.
An Lin was startled by this voice and turned around to discover that it was Yue Tu who had spoken.
He was a little perplexed. “Why are you here?”
Yue Tu puffed out her cheeks and waved her jade pestle with an indignant expression. “Your words provide insufficient proof! I have to see you bring out the one hundred million spirit stones with my very own eyes!”
“There’s no need for a hundred million,” a soft, gentle voice sounded.
Chang’e turned around with a smile on her face. “An Lin has already paid five million spirit stones as a deposit, so ninety-five million spirit stones will suffice.”
She wore a faint smile on her face, and her eyes rippled as she stared at An Lin. She was like the most beautiful work of art, and her smile was impossibly gorgeous, entrancing all onlookers fortunate enough to be graced with her presence.
An Lin’s heart rate elevated involuntarily.
“Ahem… This is all of the money here.”
He quickly calmed himself down. His storage ring flashed as close to ten thousand vital stones spilled onto the ground.
Boom!
The ground tremored slightly as a small mountain of vital stones appeared.
“So many!” Yue Tu’s eyes widened, and her pristine, white body swayed as she sat on the ground with a defeated expression.
She knew that she really had lost.
Chang’e found Yue Tu’s reaction to be quite funny.
She waved a sleeve through the air, and the small mountain of vital stones was put away into her storage ring.
“An Lin, I really didn’t think you would be able to gather a hundred million spirit stones in a year. I feel like I’m seeing you through new eyes.” Chang’e’s gaze lingered on An Lin’s face.
“I almost died countless times for this money!”
An Lin sighed with emotion as he thought back to the events of the past year.
The Southern Heavenly Wing Nation, the West Sea tomb, the Ancient Tai Chu Dragon Realm…
So many things had happened during this past year.
“But seeing as I’ve made a promise, I will deliver on it or die trying!” An Lin spoke with conviction in his voice.
Chang’e’s words were easy to understand this time, and she seemed to be in quite a good mood as well. An Lin didn’t dare to flex, so he only spoke his mind.
At this moment, the pill glowing with a divine light pounced toward Chang’e again.
Splat!
Chang’e slapped it away with another merciless slap. The pill was flung into the spell formation again and wobbled around with a hint of disorientation.
“This pill is the Rainbow Divine Dao Pill I’m refining for you. It’s over seventy percent complete now, so you’ll have to wait for a while longer,” Chang’e said with a smile.
An Lin drew a sharp intake of breath. “That really is my divine pill?”
His heart throbbed at the sight of the divine pill being mercilessly abused. “Is it really ok to keep beating it like this?”
“Of course it is. And it’s also one of the compulsory procedures.” Faint moonlight glowed from Chang’e’s beautiful hands as she spoke in a soft voice, “A divine pill needs to have a dao intent repeatedly pounded into it.”
An Lin understood now. This was like a disobedient child that needed to be beaten in order to become a competent adult…
“By the way, you’re going to fight that red moon, right? Are you going to be alright?” An Lin asked.
“Are you concerned about me?” Chang’e’s eyes rippled as she looked at An Lin.
“Er, of course I am. We’re friends, and I would be more than happy to help you if there’s something I can do,” An Lin said with a serious expression.
Chang’e pursed her lips in a smile. “It’s very likely that interference in a battle of Dao Integration could achieve the opposite effect compared to what was intended. However, I appreciate the thought, and I will tell you if and when I need help.”

“This is the moon osmanthus tea I brewed. Have some before you go.” Chang’e sat down in a chair and poured An Lin a cup of tea through a series of elegant, rehearsed motions, which was a marvelous spectacle to behold in its own right.
An Lin was feeling extremely flattered.
Chang’e was being so nice to him! This was completely different from her usual frosty and aloof demeanor!
“Su Qianyun, is it really ok for Chang’e to be like this?”
An Lin was suddenly feeling very uneasy, and he surreptitiously transmitted his voice to Su Qianyun.
“Big Sister Chang’e had been a lot warmer and gentler ever since the red moon appeared. Perhaps she’s really happy as she’s taking another step closer to the Dao Integration Stage, so don’t worry, everything will be fine,” Su Qianyun offered comforting words.
An Lin: “…”
For some reason, he was still just as uneasy as before.
“Su Qianyun, Xiao Yue, you two come over as well.”
Chang’e called in a gentle voice with an enticing smile on her face, as if she were welcoming a group of old friends.
Thus, the four of them sat down together to drink tea and discuss dao.
They weren’t really talking about anything serious. It was just a chat between friends.
They mostly talked about some interesting news on the Tai Chu Continent, such as the twin suns that appeared over the Southern Heavenly Wing Nation on a certain day, the battle between the snow maidens the Ghost Tribe in the Opposite Shore Realm, the alliance between the Spirit Fish Clan and the Heavenly Turtle Tribe to clean up and absorb all of the other forces within the West Sea…
An Lin never had a chance to think about this before, but upon careful analysis, he discovered that all of the big events that had occurred on the Tai Chu Continent recently were somehow linked to him.
During the past day or so, news of the Four Nine Immortal Sect’s Sect Leader An Lin mending the heavens created a massive stir across the entire continent, sending countless living beings into shock.
There were many different versions of the story regarding An Lin’s mending of the heavens.
However, none of those versions were accurate.
The two Dragon Tribe powers had both come to a tacit understanding to not reveal what had happened within the Ancient Tai Chu Dragon Realm, especially on the subjects surrounding An Lin as well as the evil dragons.
However, Chang’e and Su Qianyun were both friends, so An Lin hid nothing from them and gave them the inside information.
Splat!
Chang’e slapped the divine pill away again before speaking with furrowed brows, “So your Evil-Slaying Sword possesses the ability to mend the heavens? That’s very impressive! I’ve never heard of such a special weapon in this world. No wonder the Dark Wing Tribe would invade Earth to try and recover the weapon, even though doing so could incur the wrath of Her Majesty Nuwa.”
She thought to herself for a moment before continuing, “Can I touch your Evil-Slaying Sword?”
A chill ran down An Lin’s spine, and he was just about to reply.
Evil-Slaying Sword: “Piss off!”
A cold voice sounded. He was one step too late in the end…
Chang’e: “…”
Su Qianyun and Yue Tu: “…”
An Lin’s flesh crawled as he hurriedly offered an explanation, “My sword has a very bad temper, so please don’t take it to heart, Chang’e.”
Chang’e waved a dismissive hand. “Don’t worry, I won’t hold a grudge against a sword.”
At this moment, the divine pill chose another inopportune time to approach Chang’e.
Chang’e unleashed an almighty slap as she let loose a loud cry, “Piss off!”
Boom!
The divine pill was knocked flying and crashed heavily into the spell formation.
She had used so much strength this time that even the entire Moon Palace tremored slightly.
Su Qianyun and Yue Tu were both dumbstruck.
An Lin’s mouth gaped open as he looked at the divine pill, and cold sweat flowed down his forehead as he turned to look at Chang’e again, who was still wearing a gentle smile as if nothing had happened…
She wasn’t holding a grudge against the Evil-Slaying Sword?
Then why had she almost slapped his divine pill into oblivion?!
An Lin was seething internally, but he still maintained a smile on his face as he prayed for the safety and wellbeing of his divine pill.
After staying at the Moon Palace for a few hours, An Lin bid farewell to Chang’e.
He thought for a moment before deciding to visit Emperor Ziwei and check on his divine tool.
